This is the time of year when we start getting calls about moose and deer with lights caught in their antlers. This guy may look like he's just getting in a festive mood, but these entanglements can be dangerous. Fortunately, they will lose their antlers soon which solves the problem, as long as they don't get caught elsewhere or around the neck or legs in the meantime.

Loosely hung decor, especially in archways or between trees, are generally where we see the problem. Stringing lights securely and against buildings or structures can help reduce the problem. Happy holiday decorating, keeping wildlife in mind!

Farm Fair rabbit show was another great weekend (my favorite show of the year).

There was, as always, super people to show with, a well organized show put on by E.A.R.S. - Edmonton & Area Rabbit Society and the venue had lots going on, even for the kids.

It was a “juniors” show for me predominantly; I wanted judges’ comments on my jr’s to help me decide who stays and who goes, which helped.

I have the best rabbit mentor & friend, Shannon Fletcher, who made the 6hr trek with 4 young kids (& a rock star husband) to be there, that was the best part of all.

Little Top Lop Jr “unnamed” orange holland buck got up to the top of his class with a BOV, Top Lop’s Sedrik did the same in another show, and the surprise (aside from a gender change which WAS a surprise 🤦🏻‍♀️!) was my little blue Jr Netherland dwarf who took Best of Breed in one show. Our new chocolate otter addition (thank you Heather Harsch) took best opposite.

53 hollands, 23 Netherlands and over 300 rabbits in the show, it was a great turn out.

Thank you to all you rabbit breeders for coming out and making this show happen!

I have some rabbits with me to sell if anyone needs a Holland buck and is in Edmonton today.
The chew toys are selling like hotcakes but we do have some left (so far) !

I think this little guy is SO sweet! He is one of Britt’s mini plush babies who turns 8 weeks in a few days He was spoken for, then life changed for them and they couldn’t commit.

He has gorgeous crown that a lot of MPL’s don’t have and the sweet personality that they do. 🩵

His sister is equally beautiful. They would make a perfect pair if someone is looking for heart-melting pets with lovely personalities (& bodies)!
