To our incredible followers,
This is Janine, and for those who don't know me, I founded the rescue in 2018. I want to give you an update on Beanie's. In late 2019 and until recently, I suffered from health problems that kept me from the rescue. Stephanie did an incredible job of running it for me, and I will never be able to thank her enough. After much thought and prayer, I have decided to continue the rescue focusing on sick and injured cats/kittens. When other rescues are full, and with the help of fosters, I will, of course, take in kittens. When I raise enough funds, I would like to turn the rescue into a sanctuary for leukemia, FIV, and senior cats. Unfortunately, each year many are euthanized due to a lack of forever homes. The current 501c3 that we are under the umbrella of is directed at wildlife, which prevents us from applying for grants. We are currently registering for our own so the sanctuary can become a reality.
Last year during the tornado, my house was flooded, and mold is still unlivable. I'm in a rental apartment right now, which only allows for two cats. I have decided to sell the home and, God willing, will be in a new one by May. Due to the stress of moving, I am waiting to take in new intakes until the move is complete. The rescue currently has ten permanent resident cats who cannot be placed in forever homes due to health problems. They are living safely on the second floor of the house. The donations from Giving Tuesday, which you all were so wonderful to donate, are being used to look after them. Thank you for all your love and support, and I will keep you updated on how things are progressing.
I wanted to let you know Stephanie started a new rescue called Mighty Miracles. She has applied for her 501(3)c and will be starting up soon. Please follow her on Facebook!
