Long Island Shetland Sheepdog Rescue (LISSR) is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization comprised solely of volunteers dedicated to caring for and placing abused, neglected and abandoned Shetland Sheepdogs into permanent and loving homes.

Trip and Piper have just learned that Trip needs another stem cell surgery due to his severely swollen shoulder, which raises concerns about potential collapse. Fortunately, cells were banked during his previous surgery. They've chosen to rest, and Piper is comforting Trip, assuring him of her support.

🙏🙏🙏 Please hold Mary, Ed, and their Sheltie, Riley, in your thoughts and prayers. Riley, who was diagnosed with a lung tumor, is scheduled for surgery on November 12th. Since his rescue in 2019, Riley has been living his best life. With your prayers, let's hope he can continue to do so. 🙏🙏🙏

Greetings, I'm Re*****on. I'm a 7-year-old tri-color Sheltie looking for a permanent place to call home. 🏠 I cherish the time with my foster family, who describe me as a well-mannered and loving companion. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

They tell me that I respond well to basic commands like sit, stay, and down. I accept treats with care and behave nicely on a leash. I'm housebroken, content with sleeping in my crate during the night, and I enjoy a good brushing session. I'm neutered and all my vaccinations are current. 👩‍🔬🐾

❤🐾UPDATE on our 3 Tri boys from upstate. Shadow is loving the city life in Brooklyn where he has made a lot of new friends. 🥰💖Trip and Paws 💖💖are doing very well and happy in their furever foster homes. They are getting all the love and attention they can handle. ❤🐾

Trip would like to thank everyone for their kindness and attention at our Holiday Party. 💖💞 As his foster mom I debated all week if I should bring him, I thought it be to much for him. Who thought all he had to do was lay down and everyone would come to him. The children were so attentive and gentle with him, he couldn't have been happier. I would like to also thank Denise for keeping such a watchful eye on him.
