We know it’s Monday but this morning is a bit cooler and we all woke up to say hello again🤎! Have a great day☀️
These three pics of Chief at dinner today were taken within 1 second🤣
It was an active day for the whole crew😍! The rain wasn’t that long and was welcome☔️. Here Sammie and Phoebe nap together after dinner with Sam’s long body rolled up to give Phoebe a little room😆.
We can guide them and instruct them on rules of engagement but we can’t make them accept or love each other. That is all them and their sweet accepting hearts❤️. Have a peaceful night🙏🏽
Hi it’s Ikora🤍! What are you gonna do on this beautiful August day💐🌸🌷?
“So we were just wondering if Zeus is done eating… can he play? Or wait, did he finish all his food🌮🍔??”
Sammie says it’s been a looonnng week! Welcome Friday😍🌻
During nap time Dorothy takes Zeus🖤recliner snoozing’ to a new level😴! Dorothy is off in La La Land, but Kora and Magic aren’t sure if this is actually music🤨🎶.
Lois, one of our prize volunteers, recorded this during afternoon nap time.
It’s also good time for us to thank our volunteers🥳again who do so much work out of love for these seniors. We’re over 1000 hours of no unexcused absences for their volunteer time. Thank you Lois, Cheryl, Susan, Carol and April😇 for loving them and supporting our open concept and their freedom🥰
Thank you all so much for your unending heartfelt support🙏🏽. It is a beautiful summer night to reflect on our love for Charly and all those that have passed before. It is this cycle of rescue that we’ve embraced and believe in❤️. Have a peaceful restful night🦋
Charly💔🌈
You have to know how difficult these posts are to write🥺, however it pales to the respect and love that these seniors deserve🥰. Charly🖤🤍 left us after a short illness most likely from a CVA. He was happy and joyful right up until the end. He was the sweetest, softness, nicest, kindest pup we had🦋. Charly was never angry or mad. He was a 100% farm dog and was outdoors all the time all year🐄. He loved the corrals! He couldn’t see or hear very well but got along (as most dogs do) fine. This sweet boy was independant but did hang out with Morty, Macy and Chief quite a bit since they were all outside alot. He loved eating, exploring, and just being a dog. He was sensitive and caring. He is already missed so profoundly and we will always remember the peace and comfort of his presence.
Peace🥲🙏🏽

It’s really fascinating to see how these seniors interact. Dorothy is bold and friendly and Ikora is as sweet as they come so they’re fine sharing. Mr Rogers defers to let Dorothy finish when Kora leaves. He’s also fine when Rosalinda comes to join him💦🩵. They are truly a loving pack❤️. Happy Saturday🌸
So these are the little things that happen to make a newbie feel welcome🥰. Tucker will rarely lie inside a kennel but he is here to support Sammie and make her feel wanted🧡. He can be salty but really he is so sweet🥹. Have a great day🌹🌻
A happy summer day from our two newbies who are quite happy to be in the pack❤️❤️! A cooler day today, maybe some rain☔️? Enjoy🌸
When you party all night with new friends…🎉🍷
Thank you all for the incredible LOVE❤️for this new girl!!! It was a quite the welcome for her-like she was coming home🫶🏻.

DPAH ANNOUNCEMENT💜💛
Welcome Sammie🤎🤍 to Dirty Paws💜! This 18yo Basset Hound found herself needing a home very soon. As you would expect, she is calm, confident, curious and extremely well-behaved. She’s met everyone on the Littles side already (with an 💯 approval rating) where she’ll spend her retirement life. She has already serenaded us with her howling🎤which makes us love her even more❤️. Celebrate this sweet girl🎉!
When you’re so handsome every pic belongs in a magazine🩶. Happy Saturday ☀️!
DPAH💔💔💔
We celebrate three more wonderful senior lives today as they are now free in heaven and join the rest of the pack ☁️😇. I always hope these descriptions allow you to feel how vibrant and alive these seniors are, and how much they loved and were loved in their time with their family❤️. I wish I could say the gratification and joy of seeing them thrive overshadows the sadness and loss of their passing, but this would be disingenuous. To bask in self-pity and loss would be equally overly indulgent. The truth is I believe 100% in what we are doing here. Our ultimate hope is to inspire someone to take a leap of faith and adopt or foster a senior or hospice dog. It is not always convenient but it is always transcendent🙏🏽. -Tom🕊️
Castiel🤎🧡
He was a male’s male! This beautiful shepherd husky was very handsome and exuded strength. He was an enforcer; if you were a worker without proper introduction, he would remind you of your place. He could also be so sweet and follow you around all over like a bodyguard. He would lay near the pack or go out on patrol, but he always stayed at a fair distance to keep an eye out for danger. He was not timid and one felt safe in his presence lest the world intrude on your peace☮️. Goodbye, our protector🛡️😢.
Epsi🧡
WOW🥰! What a spirit! Her joy was contagious. This little puggle had an outdoor spirit and she was a farm girl at heart👩🏻🌾. She LOVED her pack and its comfort. Our first Zeus🖤, a handsome large shepherd lab, was her best friend and protector. They would lay together for hours. When Zeus passed, she spent a lot of time with Ikora🤍who was so sweet and soft to her. Her bark was bold and strong. She would sn**ch a treat from the mouth of a big dog with no fear!! How much she is already missed🥺.
Kacey🖤
She was independent and sweet. This little lab mix loved both the outdoors and indoors. For the longest time, all I thought she did was sleep. She, however, would be the last to say goodnight and the first to say good morning. We figured out she was a night owl! She would roam the corral until late and then sneak off to her bed. She was never mean and always polite to the last day. Her best friend was Molly🧡. They would eat together and then roam. She was such a calm presence to be near and the sweetest joy.🖤 She will leave such a void😢.
Another beautiful Sunday awaits☀️
I had so much fun today! It was the first time I was out ALL day with my new family and it was great. They said I’m so easy to get along with and love my chill vibe. I just wanted somewhere to be loved and wanted. I found my home❤️.
Love, Butler🖤🤍
Have a great weekend☀️🌼!
Who is this happy boy🖤🤍??
“We weren't sisters by birth, but we knew from the start...fate brought us together to be sisters by heart”❤️
Magic squeezes into Shadow and doesn’t care that she’s falling off the bed🥹
WOW💜! THANK YOU ALL! What wonderful loving support for Butler🖤!
There’s been a lot of activity for him in just a day. He made new friends. He explored new lands. He drank from the Fountain of Remembrance💦. Cali🧡 and Sam🖤 have been so sweet to show him around. We are so proud of him and this pack🥹. This boy will know love❤️!!

DPAH ANNOUNCEMENT💜💛
Welcome Butler🖤🤍 (named by the shelter for his coloring), a brave Border Collie mix! We were tagged on this stray, but probably dumped😔, elderly boy with horrible ear infections, skin infection, and arthritis who wasn’t looking too great on arrival to the pound. But the caring people at the Sandusky County Dog Kennel didn’t give up on him❤️! With a little love and meds, he started moving better and now has graduated to hospice. He’s a bigger boy so he’s on the big side and has already started making friends and roaming his new borders🐕. Celebrate his new life with us🎉🥳!

Phoebe and Molly camp out together every night no matter🏕️🧡. Look at Molly running in her sleep😆. Happy Friday🌸!
Charly’s dinnertime makes him puppy happy! And Charly happy makes us happy😀! Have a great weekend🇺🇸❤️
We try to keep things predictable so everyone is on the same clock💜! At night, Zeus runs in the corral and then comes in for play time. The last part of the night we take off his collar and rub cream on some previous irritated areas. He knows it’s time for bed so he goes and falls asleep. All the dogs, especially the pitties, love structure and predictability. Have a great week❤️🇺🇸!
Epsi thinks one ear just needs some extra airing out🤔! That’s Shadow explaining the situation and of course Mr Rogers is in the perfect photo op dog pose😆
A break in the temps allows our wild child some better running weather💨! And look at Phoebe go too💜!
Dorothy and Freddie made up and they are frolicking together on this perfect Friday💜! Dorothy reserved the right to bring it up again in 3 months and Freddie just agreed to keep the peace🕊️
Our heroine Beagle Dorothy must fulfill her destiny by walking through the rain to sniff smell and do Beagle stuff 👠. Epsi looks genuinely concerned🧡. Freddie is somewhat reluctant to follow. “I’m not a Beagle and my hair looks good(again) so I mean and it’s raining and all..” His solid (in body and loyalty) friend Tucker🤎 soberly questions Freddie, “Have you ever seen a female Beagle mad??” After searching his memory for not too long… Freddie is off to the rescue! 💨😳 Will they meet? Will Dorothy be mad? 😁🤨
