🐾🐾Lets talk about matted hair....
We all have such busy lives and we don't always have enough time to sit and brush our dogs as often as we would like too. I get it, believe me I do!!
Ideally we should try and brush our dogs at least once a week or more for some breeds such as fine or curly coated types that knot up easier.
The more regularly we brush them the less time it takes to get the job done and gets them used to being brushed, especially if you start this routine when they are puppies.
This will also help to ensure that they are happier and less stressed when visiting the groomer. I recommend using a slicker brush and a metal comb to release those tangles.
If you find that their coat is becoming unmanageable then think about choosing a more practical style for your best friend.
You might find that having your dog's hair cut shorter, saves you time and helps prevent your hallway looking like a mud-bath when you return from your daily walk!
Another thing to consider is shortening the weeks between appointments or ask for a brush, bath and dry between regular appointments to keep your dog feeling fresh.
My cockapoo has a really short haircut at the moment as I am super busy and she loves to roll around like a pig in muck every time we hit the fields!!
I know that she is comfortable and those painful matts that can pull the skin are nowhere to be seen.
I am always on hand to offer advice so please do get in touch if I can help xx 🐾🐾
