Wait for it... 👅 Baetril just woke up and had the most epic yawn for us! He doesn't tend to stick his tongue out like that, but he was feeling it this time!

It has been 8 days since he bit someone. He growled at Mom once when he got his treat, but he was otherwise in great spirits. ❤️

We love Baetril, but squirrels are not good pets for many reasons, and it's illegal to keep them in many areas unless you are licensed to do so. Social media will make it look like squirrels are so sweet, but they are still wild animals regardless of how long they have been inside a house, and their personalities can vary widely just like humans with only a very small percentage being calm and the majority becoming more protective of their area and nasty about it. A healthy squirrel deserves a free life outdoors where it will be much happier.

Baetril always looks so cute when he eats perched on the back of the chair. Those big feet certainly help him keep his balance! He's enjoying a small piece of coconut here. He certainly enjoys tropical flavors between this and papaya!

Baetril did his evening cuddles in bed instead of in Mom's lap. He can be super clingy at times. ❤️

It has been 6 days since he bit someone. There was one point where he scratched Mom's neck because she came home smelling like someone else's perfume (it transferred during a hug), but thankfully that was the only time he gave any trouble.

Baetril still loves his sesame seeds, and he has been a lot nicer about us holding the dish for him so he doesn't have to crouch down so low to eat them. Now that his teeth are at the correct length, they are also a lot easier for him to eat, too! ❤️

Maple tree branches provide great enrichment for Baetril as he likes to eat the seeds. It's fun to put them slightly out of reach so he can problem solve how to get to them. He definitely used Mom as a ladder at one point, too!

Baetril was a very good patient today, and we were able to get him wrapped up fairly quickly this time for his teeth trimming. Mom and Dad both got a little scratched up in the process, but Baetril's teeth are good for at least a few weeks now. We're sure he understands now that we're helping him, and he certainly can't complain about the treats afterwards!

It has been 3 days since he bit someone. He didn't give us a hard time at all the rest of the day, and he enjoyed his cuddles with Mom before bed as usual. ❤️

Baetril's jumps in slow motion never cease to amaze us. 😍

It has been 2 days since he bit someone. He gave Mom's foot a growl or two, but he was good overall. We will be trimming his teeth tomorrow, so please pray for an easy time! 🙏

Baetril enjoys a calm moment with Mom every once in awhile. He's content to rest while she pets him. Of course this only accounts for 2% of his daily activities, during the rest of which we're lucky to touch him other than when he's using us to get somewhere else, but it means it's a truly special time together. 💖

It has been 1 day since he bit someone. He was in a much better mood overall compared to the last 2 days, and he only growled at Mom's foot once. 😉

Baetril was enjoying his new maple tree branch when Dad decided to try to interact with him. Unfortunately he did not pass the sniff test so...

It has been 0 days since he bit someone. At least it was just a quick nip! He also growled at Mom's foot at one point, but he still was pretty good with Mom overall.

Baetril wanted to eat his block on Mom's shoulder and of course made a huge mess in the process. 🙃 Wish he would eat it all because these blocks are necessary but expensive! 😅

It has been 0 days since he bit someone. He was in a mood today. Not only did he lunge at Mom's face while riding on her (he only scratched her neck in the end), he tried attacking her foot at one point, and he later bit Dad a few times. His teeth are getting long, so he's probably aware that he needs a trim soon and got more feisty than normal when Dad was handling him. The irony was that we were both cuddling with him not long before Dad was bitten.

Baetril was surprised to see this fresh maple tree branch on top of the peanut bin, but it didn't stop him from trying to eat parts of it! Squirrels love to eat the samaras (helicopter seeds) and also like to strip the bark to eat the nutritious cambium layer underneath.

It has been 9 days since he bit someone. He's been a very good boy lately. ❤️
