Baetril was scavenging around and found part of the peanut bag that Grandma cut open so she could feed the wild squirrels outside. He knows that all sorts of treats can come in these crinkly packages, so he must have been disappointed to not find anything inside. Peanuts are especially bad for indoor squirrels as they are very high in phosphorus and can negate any calcium intake, so he only gets one if he happens to find one on the floor.

Little squirrels make big messes! Baetril loves his calcium block (you can see he's almost completely finished this one off), but he leaves behind a fine powder in the process of grinding it down. When he does this in his room, he tracks footprints all over the place! 😂

Baetril was wrestling with Dad and his toys when he stopped and just enjoyed a rub down while snuggling with the platypus twins. ❤️ Can't say he's ever done that before! And yes, we know his teeth need to be trimmed soon. 😬
Unfortunately it has been 0 days since he bit someone. As we've mentioned before, Baetril's mood can change without a warning, so when he was wrestling with Dad in the kitchen, Baetril turned around and clawed him hard accompanied by a quick nip which hurt all the more because his teeth are super sharp and uneven right now. We thought he was just too worked up from wrestling, but when Dad went to pet him later after that, Baetril turned around and clawed him again so Dad went into hiding once more. Hopefully he's in a better mood with him today!

This routine is so Baetril! Scratch, jump on the blinds, cool off on the air filter, then run away. If the air filter is not turned up to the high setting, he will gently bite our fingers to get us to push the buttons to set it that way, although technically his big feet are what changed the settings in the first place! 😂

Baetril eats very healthy, but when he first gets his bowl, he is only interested in getting the good stuff first so he can get to playing sooner. Here he's chomping down on some spaghetti squash seeds, but he ignores everything else to go run off at the end. He gets back to it throughout the day though.

Baetril and Dad enjoy some refrigerator time together. ❤️ But...
It has been 0 days since he bit someone. Mom spent the night elsewhere and must have carried back a different smell because although Baetril was so happy to see her initially, he nearly immediately started attacking and biting her hand once he jumped on her. Washing up and changing clothes didn't make it better as he repeated the same behavior each time, so she had to keep her distance from him for the rest of the day while Dad kept him busy. It was heartbreaking because he would come running from across the room to jump on her only for him to start trying to bite her, so she had to keep running from him. 🥺
