The idea behind this shop was inspired by our rescue dog, Cali. She was rescued from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico in 2017 before making her way to San Diego through the amazing help of Animal Rescuers Without Borders- an organization here in SD that saves animals from the tough streets of Mexico and Southern California. “We’re not going to get the first dog we meet…..” we said to each other. Well the second we saw those cute floppy ears and those big timid eyes we fell in love and quickly realized we did not want to live without her. I know people always say that their dog is the best, the sweetest, etc., but when we say Cali is one of a kind, we really truly mean it. She is the ultimate definition of Emotional Support Animal- she will literally run to us from 3 rooms away and lick our faces (or tears) if she thinks we are even slightly upset or sad. We could go on and on about how sweet, loving and intuitive Cali is.

While we are not 100% sure about Cali’s past, we do know that she suffered in some way - she has a pretty long scar on the back of her neck that has never regrown fur. She was also terrified of men for the first year that we had her. She has really come a long way since those days! Although she still has her street dog tendencies like hiding toys under our bed - the same spot in which she also spread a ton of our clothes out to make herself one large doggie bed. We used to find treats under our pillow sometimes too! LOL

Ever since adopting Cali in 2017, we have wanted to give back to the rescue dog community in some way. She has brought such pure joy and light into our lives and we feel eternally indebted. Although we wish we could, we realize we can’t adopt every troubled dog that needs a home, so we figured the next best thing is to help all of those dogs-in-need in another way. With that in mind, we created Toli Dog Boutique: an online shop for dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds that donates a portion of proceeds to dog rescue organizations, shelters, etc.

We hope you enjoy our products and know that you too are helping dogs in need with each purchase you make for the doggies in your life.
