I am often asked how I could be a service dog trainer and put everything I have into a dog that will go to someone else. The short answer is, I know this dog is providing security and independence to someone that will benefit their whole life from this dog! It also helps to “fill the void” by starting another puppy right after.
With that said, introducing Angus, aka Lean Beef, to the Dog Training Cleveland Ohio family!
The last two days of delivery have gone by so fast! I can’t believe this cheese doodle is with his fur-ever family to provide support and security in their daily lives! Go Gage and Gouda! I’m so excited to see you two continue to grow!

Little Luna has joined us for our basic obedience board & train! Luna will be with us for the next 3 weeks learning on-leash obedience and working out some behavior problems such as resource guarding.
When the weather is in the single digits, sometimes you just have to curl up under the blankets!

While walking your dogs in the winter make sure to keep an eye on their paws if they don’t wear boots!
Salt or ice can cause irritation to their paw pads.
Always wash their feet when you get back home to remove any salt that they may have walked through!

Using a KLIMB from is a great way to teach your dog place. It’s an entirely different platform than the floor it sits on, allowing a clear spot to be defined for your dog’s place!

Spot is working through dog distractions today with the help of my personal dog Judd. At the start of the session you can see Spot holds a lot of focus on Judd and as we progress he relaxes just enough to lose interest and focus on mom instead!
Spot is offering some great eye contact to his Mom while working in Home Depot! Choosing to break focus off of the many distractions around him instead of choosing to bark at them is a giant WIN for this guy!

Too cold outside to go on walks? Practice in dog friendly stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s!
If Gouda could live outside I think he would only come back in for meal time 🤪 recall is just as important in your own backyard as it is in public!

Give your dog a chance to be a dog! Dogs value freedom. Off leash walks ending with running through the woods is a great way to reward your dog for listening and performing obedience, and it allows you to bond with your dog in a natural way.
Front door manners are important for all dogs! As the winter weather is coming make sure your dogs know how to wait at the door!

Mr. Banx is nearing the end of his boot camp training, he has been learning on and off leash obedience and has come a long way! At the beginning of his training here, off leash to Banx meant “run as fast as you can” and now he understands off leash means supervised freedom!
