Today I got an opportunity to attempt doing sheep shearing it’s a lot different and difficult than dog grooming that’s for sure 🥵
Tiring and hard work especially in this heat, got tad burnt... I mean really burnt 🙄 but was all worth it but I think I’ll stick with dog grooming for the time being 🐾🐩

🐕 UPDATE 🐕

Hi everyone, I just want to say that I am moving my location. I will be grooming within OakTree Dog Grooming which is based in Henlow. I am really looking forward to this new opportunity, if you would like to book a groom in, please get in touch as spaces are filling up fast.
(Unfortunately I am no longer doing anymore home grooms)

Sweet boy Alf snook in for a cheeky groom today, this may be the last time I get to groom this doggy before he moves away 😢 he’s helped me throughout my training and I’ll be forever grateful, I wish you all the best on your new adventure 🏡

Im so happy I got to use my new shampoo honey and Camille it smelt so good! ...

Just a quick one from me thank you for all your support throughout completing my levels 2 & 3 city and guilds dog grooming course I can now say I’m a fully qualified dog groomer and heading into 2021 with a bang! So thank you again for allowing me to practice/ groom your pooches I would have not done it without you guys 🐾
I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas, rest up and relax and I’ll see you guys next year🎄 🐩🐕

College days now all completed a massive thank you to my teacher... Linda at the hair of the dog. I can’t thank her enough for always encouraging me and giving me new challenges weekly. I shall miss my Saturdays, being at the salon but now it’s my time to go solo, but don’t worry you’ll be hearing from me again soon I’m sure 😉 now for the next 9 days until my theory exam which I hope to pass, I’ll be sat revising 💁🐕🐾

Some of the dogs from this weekend college day! Nearly forgot an after picture of the cockerpoo so here she is already to go home and the first picture is of an Italian Spinone that had a years worth of hair growth that needed hand stripping so me and my grooming teacher stripped a side each and to say it was very tough I got home and had a well needed power nap 💁😂

Just one more Saturday at college to complete my 30days! For level 3 before the theory exam.....

Achievement post today 🙌🏻
Passed my animal first aid training so now that’s all back up to date, had a fantastic day learning new bits and picking the vet nurses brains and the rosette was for completing all practical exams and completing my work booklet that’s all been sent off now 16days until my theory exam so now until then I’m going to be revising long hours 🐾🐕

Day off... This golden oldie Tilly was a gem and snuck in for a quick once over. She was so happy and couldn’t wait to get home. Just look at her face🐕🐾
It’s important to give dogs rest breaks if and when they need them 🌟

And yes I forgot the before pictures 🤦‍♀️ and nearly the end result, I remembered when we had pulled up to take her home 💁 better late than never

College antics today 🙌🏻🐾
Hand strip on a dachshund... 2 1/2hours later and boom here’s the result, really pleased I managed to do this dog within the allowed time frame! Gave me such a confidence boost, that I needed this week 💁 and you may have seen the other dog before a Pyrenean sheepdog which went a lot shorter than what she normally goes.

❌warning appreciation post ❌

Love looking at pictures of dogs I’ve groomed and thinking.... wow I’ve come a long way in what really is a short space of time training with Linda at the hair of the dog 🐕 which before I know it will come to an end.😢 I’ve learnt so much already and continuing gaining confidence and new skills daily, I enjoy dog grooming as you are never finished learning, your constantly fine lining your skills to better yourself whilst caring for the dogs. Being a dog groomer is hard work, there’s many dogs that don’t like being bathed or cut. They test your patience. You get bitten and scratched. But it does have its perks too, its so rewarding seeing happy dogs and customers and to know your doing your bit to help keep animals maintained and also you are those second pair of eyes, many dog groomers pick up signs and symptoms before the owner even realises.

Full groom on a poodle x
Attempted my first westie trim, i did clipper her body, tidy tail and tipped her ears and cleared infront of eyes, I did have help with legs and watched a head demonstration
And lastly helped full groom on a standard poodle again didn’t do the top of head/ears and some of the legs but I did at attempt one leg, but was able to give this girly clean face and feet, tidy her tail up and clipper the body I just needed a helping hand 🙂 but that’s okay as I’m still learning! Watching demos is still helping me to improve my grooms and I’m okay with that 💁
I did struggle with the weatie head as I was seeking perfection where as it’s better for them to looked layered 😑 I do like how I’m picking up my faults and struggles as I can then focus on improving them

I also groomed another doggy totally 3! 💁 now I can sit back and relax and most importantly stay cool... no more hair dryers 😁

When Ben treats you to a new pair of arcos that I’ve been hinting I’ve wanted since they came out! Limited edition 😉 They sold out everywhere but I managed to hunt them down 👀 so was very surprised that they were sat on my doorstep when I got home 🙌🏻💁 but I absolutely love the colour 😍
