onding with your ferret, with a goal of achieving snuggle time:
They a cute, they are tiny, they are oh so soft 😍 and it's only natural to want to scoop up your ferret and snuggle them for hours! However, developing a bond takes time and patience. Some ferrets are also just really not snuggly, and prefer to be super active!
Here are some tips that will strengthen the bond you have with your ferret, and may help you achieve some snuggle time with them:
• Engage in active play: cat chaser toys are often a go-to for me, but you can try many different play styles depending on what your ferret likes. You can also try engaging by micro-rewarding with high value treats. The objective is to help the ferret come to see you as a source of positive experiences- fun, food, comfort. Be sure to talk to your ferret the entire time you are engaging them. These things will help with general bonding, will provide physical and mental enrichment, and will help tire your ferret out & make them more receptive to snuggle time.
• Pressure-free companionship: when your ferret is ready to stop playing and rest, spend time just being near them, without trying to pick them up. Talk to them softy, give small pets/scritches if it doesn't disturb them. This pressure-free quite time spent with them will help them associate you with sleepy time without being disturbed by your hands (hands often = playtime/active time).
• Make snuggle time a part of their regular comfort zone: when you shoot for snuggle time, it really helps if your ferret is already asleep within a favorite bed or sleep sack. Rather that picking your ferret up directly, gently lift the ferret + bed into your lap together. Talk softly and give gentle scritches. If your ferret has fallen asleep elsewhere, you can try lifting them into a bed or sleep sack before placing them in your lap. The idea is to provide them with a familiar cozy place, while introducing yourself as being a part of cozy/sleepy time.
• Time spent is trust earned: probably the biggest thing you can do to build your bond with your ferret, is simply spending time with them. The more time you spend interacting, the more you become and important piece of their world. Forming a bond and achieving snuggle time is not something that can be rushed- it requires much patience. It may take months, even years to cultivate a bond with some ferrets. Always remember that every ferret is a unique individual with their own personality- some ferrets just aren't snuggly, and may have a lot more fun bonding with you through active play.
• Remember: don't be hard on yourself if your ferret doesn't want to snuggle, and don't think is means they dislike you. Just keep working on general bonding, and celebrate your fuzzy's individuality!

Saya teringin bela ferret, apa perlu saya tahu?

1. Ferret adalah haiwan sama seperti Kuching, dia makan daging dan hampir sama dengan permakanan Kuching
2. Ferret adalah adik beradik “skunk” jadi dia ada mengeluarkan bau yang mungkin tak sesuai.
3. Untuk kurangkan bau, Dicadangkan makanan “raw” mcm daging kisar mentah dan ayam mentah dan disulam dengan pallet Kuching.
4. Ferret akan memilih sudut sebagai toilet mereka, taik ferret perlu dicuci selalu jika tidak dia akan memilih sudut baru, kiranya bertambah taiknya.
5. Ferret betina perlu dikasi supaya tidak beranak kerana sekiranya masuk musim mengawan, iaitu 2 kali setahun, kalua tidak megawan, boleh sakit dan mati.
6. Ferret akan mengandung selama 40-50 hari dan beranak dalam 4-8 ekor anak. Perlu dijaga sbb jika ibu rasa terancam, dia akan makan anak2.
7. Prosess megawan ferret adalah kasar apabila si jantan akan megigit tengkok betina dan menarik untuk mengawan. Selalu biarkan 24 jam didalam kendang untuk prosess megawan ini.
8. Ferret boleh dibeli di kedai pet shop dan breeder local, namun lebih baik jika COD dan pegang ferret sebelum beli. Harga RM1000 ke atas, ikut warna dan baka ferret. Ada yang cecah rm2500 seekor. Kalau ikut usia, jangan muda sangat, dalam 6 bulan keatas adalah sebaik sebab dah ada interaksi dengan manusia jadi kurang mengigit.
9. Ferret bermain seperti Kuching, jadi gigit main2 adalah biasa bagi ferret.
10. Ferret main tak ikut usia mcm Kuching, mereka adalah pet yang betul2 ikut mood tuan and sentiasa akan bermain dengan tuannya.
