As I just said in Stories, I realized last night that I made an error with my posting of Letti and Fryler’s 🏖️❤️ litter’s 6 week photos. As soon as I discovered the blunder, I knew I couldn’t live with it. 🤦‍♀️ So here is take two!! My heart explodes 🥰 when I give my dogs activities that bring them joy. This afternoon, I brought Rellie and Flippers on a special outing. couldn’t have been happier (or better behaved) and I loved the confidence and adaptability that I saw from Flippers. This photo was taken when we got home 🏡 but I can absolutely say right now that this adorable duo was perfectly enriched and stimulated this afternoon. That thrills me! ☀️❤️

As if today wasn’t exciting enough, it’s also Camper’s big sister’s 9th birthday!!! 🥳🥳 Not too long ago, she said that she could not picture her life before she had Camper and that their family isn’t a family without him. 🥹💙 Isn’t that the most kind and thoughtful sentiment?! Lane (now Maggie Lane) was the third 🏊‍♀️💜 puppy to leave for her forever home today! Maggie is already so loved by her mom, dad and 3 siblings! Everyone was excited to meet her and it was love at first sight! 😍 They have a drive home to New York that’s just over 2 hours and I’m already excited to hear about Maggie’s introduction to her 🏡 home! I know that I’m going to be keeping in touch with this family a LOT! 😉 I love you, Maggie girl! ☀️❤️

Such happy faces! 😄 Goggles (now Rory) from 🏊‍♀️💜 has human siblings who are loving her up at her new home in Virginia! Thank you to an SHD mom for 🚗 splitting the difference with Rory’s family and driving her halfway home! 🥰 The rest of the way, Rory was comfy in her new family’s car. So far, she’s been playing and exploring. 🤗 The most recent photo was of Rory snoozing in her crate which warmed my heart. I miss and love you, baby! ☀️❤️

Splash, who is keeping her birth name, was the first 🏊‍♀️💜 puppy to leave the nest 🪺 at the lovely time of 3am. Baby girl caught a 6am flight to her new home in South Carolina!! Fryler’s mom was her flight nanny and said that Splash did great! Splash’s new mom has already texted me several times. She’s so in love, says Splash is such a cuddle bug, and they’ve already taken some snuggle naps together. 🥰 You’re soooo adored, Splashy!! ☀️❤️

I can’t believe I’m typing this but Flippers is available again! Her family just backed out for reasons having nothing to do with Flippers. This little doll girl is PERFECT 💯 and my heart breaks. Flippers is fun, happy, cuddly, has a high touch tolerance, nice pack drive/human-focus…ALL great things that you would want in your micro mini Australian Labradoodle. 🥰 In recent days, I’d actually decided that I wanted Flippers to be the 🏊‍♀️💜 breeder pick. I didn’t have a guardian so I felt comfort that I was selling her to the family member of someone I knew since childhood. At this point, though, I’d be thrilled to retain Flippers as the breeder pick if I have a guardian family OR place her with a family as a regular pet pick. 📌IMPORTANT📌

I love my puppies but all passion in Sunny Heart Doodles stems from love for the parent dogs (from both myself and from guardian families). All my breeding dogs live with (guardian) families of their own. These pick-of-the-litter, health-tested Australian Labradoodles go to guardian families as puppies at no cost and I retain breeding rights.

SHD depends on guardians. There need to be families who love these dogs that I choose for possible breeding from puppyhood through parenthood and then for ever after. Vippy and Letti are both 1 litter away from retirement. Una and Deenie will follow before we know it.

Then what? The reality is that guardians are essential because as I retire parent dogs, without new guardian families, SHD will shrink instead of grow. That’s not what we want.

I treat my guardians well, giving gifts as “push presents” for the mamas, random deliveries of pet supplies, doodle mama sweatshirts, financial incentives for finding new guardian families, etc. I LOVE my guardian families. But…I need more of them.

Simply put, if my parent dogs retire and I don’t have more guardian families, what happens to SHD?

My guardian families LOVE being in the inner circle, of being some of the VERY limited number of people allowed to meet the pups when they’re tiny.

If kids are involved, they enjoy being the first to hear about the births and see photos. The guardian kids are given a list of names and they get to name the pups. I also ask them for input in naming future breeding dogs! Rellie FROST! Frost was chosen by Una’s human siblings. Letti DAY! Day is Letti’s mom’s maiden name.

My guardian families are part of a community that gets to experience something special while also making it possible for more families to welcome home quality puppies. I just need more love poured into the parents. The parent dogs and my guardian families are the heroes!

Please consider guardianship and join a super group of people who make it possible for 1) me to do what I love and 2) more families to experience the joy of SHD pups. 🥰🥰

We had a successful vet visit today! Una and Fryler’s 🏊‍♀️💜 pups did great in the 🚗 car. They absolutely turned on the charm for our vet tech and the vet. 🥰 I am SO PROUD at how courageous these little mushes were. Out of 8 injections (4 microchips and 4 vaccinations), there were ZERO reactions. 👏💯 No yelps. No cries. No whimpers. Nothing. These sweethearts were soooo brave! All exams went well and the pups are comfortably resting now after their big adventure! {order of puppies featured here is Splash, Goggles, Flippers and Lane} ☀️❤️

📌ONE SPOT REMAINS!📌 7 weeks old and I could cry 🥹 over how beautiful and perfect Una and Fryler’s 🏊‍♀️💜 puppies are. I get lost staring into their soulful eyes or watching them explore something new with confidence. I’ve been sick for the past few weeks so I needed help with bathing the pups 🧼🛁 tonight. I bathed, trimmed and blow-dried while my mom was the official puppy snuggler (thanks, Mom!). The pups enjoyed cuddling with my mom, being silly for her, and giving her a real show of their sheer adorableness!! This is a HUGE week coming up for them, one that I somewhat dread. We have trait assessments, vet visits and (aghhh!) match meetings! This is the time when I usually ask my families to be gentle with me. As my time with these miracles comes to an end, there are so many thoughts, so many feelings! I can’t wait to see these little chickies soar…but I also hope they remember their first nest. 🪺🩵 {order of puppies featured here is Flippers, Lane, Splash, and Goggles} ☀️❤️

Woohoo! Letti and Fryler’s 🏖️❤️ puppies are (presumably) weaned (AND WE HAVE AVAILABILITY)! 👏 They had their last snack from mama last night. I shared the special moment to Stories so check it out. Letti did a lovely job with her baby bops. 💯 She produced a surplus of milk at first (for a lot of puppies!) that we had to regulate but she got into a groove with her babies and raised them in the sweetest, most loving manner. 💜 Truly, is the easiest, most self-sufficient mama. It’s a joy to spend these weeks right by her side. Letti, you’re likely going home tomorrow but I promise you that I’ll take the very best care of your perfect puppies from here. {PS- my guardian families know that if it seems like mama needs to offer more feeds, they’re ALWAYS welcome back to give their babes a snack!!} ☀️❤️

Avalon and her mom went on a girl date to work on some training. I usually expect that people will gush over my dogs but this is new for Avalon’s family! 🥰 Apparently, a nice older woman first complimented how pretty and shiny Avalon was and then saw her do a few training commands. When the woman was checking out and leaving, she said, “Oh my goodness! She’s so good…she can come home with me!” 💞💞 Well, nice lady, is NOT available but we have several puppies who are AVAILABLE! And…I promise you…if you follow the training protocol I recommend, you will be out and about receiving compliments on your well-behaved dog, too!! ☀️❤️

They still love their mama feeds but they’re definitely ready for big kid meals. 🍽️ Letti is such a caring, attentive mama so even when she’s not feeding the pups, she’s playing with them and teaching them all about social norms. It’s really special to see! Congratulations to Camper!!! 💙🎓💙 He graduated from his first round of Basic Obedience Part 2! He’ll be starting his second round soon! THEN…he’ll be done with all the training requirements for guardianship. 👏👏 However, I offer my guardians a tuition credit per year for any advanced training they complete (that goes above and beyond our contract requirements)! Fryler is taking advantage of it. Deenie will be, too! Camper’s mom said she wants to continue, as well. Her words were, “♥️♥️♥️ I really love training with him. It’s such a bonding time and then I take him to the store after and I take my daughter and it’s just a moment. 🥹” I love that my families work so hard to help these dogs to be the best that they can be and to live their best lives! It warms my heart…and tonight, my heart soars for Camper. Congrats, sweet boy!! ☀️❤️

These tiny 6 and a half week old babies hit two huge milestones this week!! 👏 They were officially weaned and they started eating soaked kibble! 🥳 All litters are different and Una and Fryler’s 🏊‍♀️💜 puppies did not want to give up their mama…and Una wasn’t in any rush to finish feeding them. For a while, I tried blending their kibble into their puppy mousse but these pups were too smart for that. 😆 They wanted nothing to do with it. Today, though, they decided that they’re big kids now and started eating the soaked kibble!! Woohoo, babies! It has been a week. 🫤 A loooong, under-the-weather week. 🤒🤕 I’m still not feeling well so will be heading to the doctor in a little while. I HAD to take a moment for a Camper appreciation post first, though. 🌟 This sweet boy got groomed with Skylie, Vippy and Rellie this morning. On our way back to ’s house, we stopped off at a park so I could get some new photos of this handsome stud. 🥰 Isn’t he looking sooooo good?! And boy isn’t just a pretty face! His family is working him hard in his training classes and IT SHOWS! I was so impressed today! His consistent training, impulse-control work, and socialization reactions are just a few things that, over time, will make their way into the SHD lines, elevating the bar for Australian Labradoodles. I’m so proud of you, Camper! ☀️❤️

Grooming is an important part of socialization for puppies. 💇‍♀️🧼 Like all socialization exercises, start young. We brush frequently & make certain to touch ears, paws & tail. This teaches pups that human touch is normal & safe. ☀️❤️ #sunnyheartdoodles
