I think I might have a set of identical twins.
The more I look at these boys, the more I see that their markings are identical.
One is larger and his black is “bigger” than his twin.
But the placement and angles on the markings are uncanny.
The first thing I noticed were the face markings above the nose.
They both have a swipe going left to right above the main black mouth color.
In the one lamb it is more pronounced.
In fact all his black is a bit “more” than his twin. Although they are still coded the same. Both have a right rear foot more black than the left.
Both have the same eye patches.
Are identical twins a thing?
I guess with solids you wouldn’t notice.

Meet our last lambradoodle of the season 🎉Archie and his mom, Veronica 🌸
First time mom killin’ it! Mom is an F1 harlequin with a babydoll sire. Dad is Oswald, our F1 valais black nose (valais sire/babydoll mom)
Love the curls and temperament ♥️. The valais influence makes him a little taller too. He will be such a sweet pet ♥️♥️♥️♥️.

Take a look at a few of are Lambradoodles. All grown up ♥️. The last photo is a side-by-side of two adult ewes: left- babydoll. Right - Lambradoodle. The goal for the lambradoodle is a more refined miniature sheep with a more open face, better fleece quality and spotted color patterns. .

A few words for Babydoll enthusiast seeing spots.
Spotted babydolls are true babydoll sheep and are registered with OEBSR.
If they are not registered, they are not babydolls. They are so prestigious and so sought after that their breeders would never not register them.
If that is your hearts desire, use caution when seeing spots.
There are other small, spotted sheep that are part Jacob, harlequin, Finn and are not babydolls. Although they might have a present age of babydoll in them, adding in other genes means other characteristics can appear in their offspring.
They might be taller. They might be less docile. They might grow horns. A
They aren’t bad sheep, but if someone wants to sell you a cute spotted lamb and you are determined to only have babydolls, be sure of their parentage and their parent’s parentage.

Sometimes even the spotting pattern can give it away.

I am going to add some pictures here of this years lambs.

Some are pure, registerable babydolls, one is a very low level harlequin and one is a low level harlequin valais cross.

I will write comments in each picture so you can see who is who and what is what.

Tri color ???♥️???

I noticed a very black shape on her left ear leg. The wool next to it is brownish… I had thought it was just dirty but the rain cleaned her up and her colors popped!!! I don’t know if it will show as she ages…. Black sun-fades. But it was such a cool discovery. ♥️

Locket’s rainy day look accentuates some what we are going for with the . Ears: not to long set nice on the head and covered in wool influence. Wool on face but not close to the eyes so eyes are always visible to avoid wool blindness influence. Nice curls and poodley forelock floof influence. Colorful, soft fleece influence. Small, petite body influence. Very excited to watch her development. ♥️🐄🐑🐩♥️

Locket’s rainy day look accentuates what we are going for in the : head wool over ears and much of face but clear around the eyes (harlequin influence). Extra poodley flood on forehead. Very excited to watch her develope!

Our first 2 lambradoodles of ‘24 and they are both ewes.

Going wild for the color variations we are getting from sire Oswald, our 50/50 registered F1 Valais.
Oswald shows the agouti gene and although he has thrown terrific true spotted coloring, I am surprised and thrilled w this little cinnamon agouti ram lamb.
And spreaders those curls!
His dam is Babette, an F1 harlequin ewe from a registered A gen spotted harlequin and registered spotted babydoll.

This little man is our first “ram”bradoodle!

Out of Penelope, our F1 harlequin from butterfield barns and sired by Oswald, our 50/50 F1 valais. Er mer gerd! His curls are spot on! And so calm and sweet.

Lambradoodle ewe #2 has made her debut. ♥️ her mom is a reg fp harlequin. Her sire is our reg f1 valais (bbdoll dam)

She’s a big girl. And so bright eyed and sweet.

Bring an fp, her mom is a little higher up in the Harley generations than I would like but I am anxious for this lamb to change my mind.

Got an early Christmas present.
This little girl has been a loooooong time coming.
Dam: Reg F1 harlequin from an A reg gen harlequin ram/reg spotted babydoll ewe.
Sire: Reg F1 Valais black nose from a reg valais ram/reg solid ewe.

Strong and straight. Great color.

She needs a cute Christmas name.
Like Jingle or Holly or Die Hard.

I’ve never had a lamb this early. But it seems as though the Valias do get started a bit earlier.
