A msg from the SM Shelters Foster Program Coordinator Sophia Proler:
What time is it? DOG O'CLOCK!
We started the day with more dogs than kennels, and more were coming in the door! We've got small dogs, big dogs, smart dogs, dogs who maybe hung out at the back of the classroom shooting spitballs; we need YOU to help! Schedule a foster pickup tomorrow / [email protected] / 512-805-2650
12-4 or Sunday 9am-4pm! Check out our adoptable pets here for more ideas on whom to foster! https://sanmarcostx.gov/3259/Adoptable-Animals
Joey is house-trained, easygoing couch dog. He likes the good life: watching golf until he falls asleep, maybe a fishing trip or two, hanging out with his older kiddo friends (he was great with a 12-year-old). Joey’s a family man just missing the family. Joey is pretty neutral around other dogs- they leave him alone, he leaves them alone, and he’s happy. He’s a people person, for sure, and he just needs a break. Foster for as little as a weekend or longer! Pick up ASAP. 4yo, 65 #, HW-

Gris
You'd never guess it, but Gris LOVES water. She will play fetch and jump right into a baby pool with her favorite toy, then spring out and run around the yard with the biggest grin on her face. She is house-trained, too! This 60-pound chunk of love does everything with gusto. Let's WALK she says, let's PLAY, let's CHILL! 🙂 Gris always looks like she's listening to you because she has a slight head tilt. We think she's learning! Her family only turned her in because they had some medical challenges and couldn’t safely walk Gris. She is a very good girl and has lived with smaller dogs in her prior home. 60 #, HW-, 6yo

Presscot
Not all victims of domestic violence are two-legged, unfortunately. Poor Presscot ended up in the shelter when his family had to flee a bad situation. He was clearly loved, but has experienced some scary stuff. He is nervous when meeting new people and flinches if you move too quickly. He has made friends with men and women at the shelter, though, and his former family said he enjoyed playing with dogs. He’s house- and crate-trained, and he is looking for a easygoing place to decompress after a tumultuous few months. HW-, 1yo, 60 # A47885776
Shiloh
What a striking guy Shiloh is! This great dane, lab cross loves to chase after balls and toys and is very responsive to his people. You can tell he is always thinking! He has met another dog and might enjoy a mellow friend at home. This boy knows the drill - a few walks a day, some fun times in the yard, taking it easy in the evenings. He's over the puppy phase (phew!), and is ready to settle down! Looking for a good-looking wingman? 65 #, HW-, 7yo

Holly is bitey. She is a snarky, little, special girl who need an adult-only foster home who can work on socializing her to new things and people. She is not for the faint of heart. Her first reaction is the patented chihuahua bark-bite. She likes hot dogs, but she may not like you. yet. Patience and love. 2yo, 10 #

Elvira
Elvira, our hearts are on fire for our Elvira! She's AWESOME! Only 35 pounds, a gorgeous coat, and a total lover of all two-legged friends! She has met another doggy friend, too, and thought they were just fine. She might enjoy another pup at home, too. Elvira has tons of fun energy without the wild 'puppy' phase. She'll be a great companion! Foster today! A47752660
Lando
This easy-living boy is a total couch potato. A little walk in the park. A little play with the kids. And he’s back on the couch or at your feet! Lando might appreciate a home without other pets or an easygoing dog that lets him have his space. Lando just likes to chiiillllllll. 65 #, HW+ (he’s already gotten his first treatment, only 2 left!)
