Some of our members during the 'Horse Shopping 101' presentation last evening. After a short chat they're given written materials to review and then drafted their own ad to sell an eventer.

Some funny, honest ads were created and above all else they were encouraged to be honest and represent the horse well when making a sales ad and to 'read between the lines' when reading other ads that might not be so forthcoming.

💚💜 Willow Creek Pony Club is holding a raffle for a Pit Boss Sportsman 820SP Wood Pellet Smoker and Grill which will be drawn on July 10th at the Shoreline Schooling Series Show.

Along with the BBQ you'll also win a 40lb bag of wood pellets and a roast of beef donated by 4C Produce and Farm Fresh Meats.

You'll also win an assortment of gift cards donated by our pony club members to local establishments.

Funds raised will provide educational opportunities for our members and support their ability to participate at pony club competitions.

Our club is growing and with your continued support these kids can become knowledgeable equestrians that will ensure they're practicing safely and with the horse's best interest at heart.

Tickets can be purchaed from any our club members and are $5 each or 5/$20.

Thank you for your continued support! 😃

Christian Lowe took time out of his busy schedule to talk with the members WOR Region about saddle care and cleaning. Our members came prepared with saddles to clean while they listened to his talk. Some came in person, some viewed virtually. Check out these clean, conditioned saddles 🪣🧽🧼✅

Today our members had the pleasure of having Jeff from Bayshore Feeds come and talk to them about equine nutrition. He came with samples of different types of feeds and this will certainly help our members when it comes time to the upcoming quiz!

The next couple months we focus on preparing our members for the annual QUIZ.

To do this we have been playing Kahoot games that essentially test their knowledge on all sorts of topics: grooming, parts of the horse and tack, first aid, breeds, etc. Then we create activities based upon areas that we felt maybe needed a bit more knowledge of the subject.

Recently I created a crossword to help our younger members learn proper names for many things found in their grooming boxes. Would you get all the answers right? 🙋‍♀️

This year's WOR quiz will be held virtually on April 9th.

We had to cancel our 'horsey holiday baking' meeting so instead we created our version of a Hello Fresh delivery. Our members will only have to add water to create a low NSC treat for their horse or pony.

Big congratulations going out to two of our D2 level PC members who were notified last evening of their accomplishments.

Olivia McNabb and her horse, Leo From Heaven, finished 3rd overall in the OEA Jr Entry Division.

Meghan McNabb and her horse, Cheveyo, finished 6th overall in the same division.

This was both girls' first year competing at OEA events and I think it's safe to say they're hooked!

Today our members had the privilege of going to Jack Pine Equestrian Centre to have a presentation on 'Hunter vs Jumpers' and the desired confirmation for each discipline. Christine Frasier (pony club alumni) shared her experience having practiced many different disciplines. The members were able to compare many different horses within the stable and give reasoning why a particular horse may be better suited to one discipline or another.
