This is my ever-favorite local project, seriously. I LOVE working dogs and to me these dogs (and their humans) are true heroes. 🏅🐺💚🐨
When I was a teenager, I always dreamt of doing something like this with my dog(s) in the future, as an upgrade to the years of training and competing in Agility with my Shelties. 😌
Do we have any amazing working dogs within our pack? 🧐😊
Meet the amazing Detection Dogs, sniffing out a brighter future for Australia's wildlife! These furry heroes use their incredible sense of smell to track and rescue injured animals, locate threatened species, and even detect pests. 🐶🐾
We have collaborated with University of the Sunshine Coast to rescue dogs animal refugee shelters, give them a special purpose and a new forever home with their handlers. When these guys are working, they have an important job to do – one they love and that makes a big difference when it comes to animal welfare and habitat protection. ❤️🦘
In natural disasters like the 2019/2020 bushfires, the Detection Dogs for Conservation team locates injured, malnourished or isolated wildlife with the help of technology. 💻 They use thermal camera mounted on drones operated by experienced koala researchers, and 3D printed home-made tracking devices, to help locate and keep track of koalas. 🐨
USC researchers are passionate and enthusiastic conservationists, but conservation is something we can all contribute to – directly or indirectly. Find out how in the link below. 👇
