These dogs deserve more!

While we provide support in posting about them, giving monthly preventatives, driving to pick up pups going to rescue, fostering, CASA and RARE are providing medical testing, rescue & home placement and so so much more.

We are so proud to be a part of this small but MIGHTY crew that is saving lives out in the Huntingdon Pound.

A quick look around the pound with Cara & Nancy. The pound seriously has the greatest pups who just want to roll around and play in the grass and be dogs.

Together we are hoping to make some important improvements to the kennels for their safety and well-being.

If you're in a position to welcome a foster into your home, there are some truly wonderful and deserving pups who would greatly benefit from your love!

We headed out to Huntingdon with the gals of Who Will Let the Dogs Out? last week to show them around a pick their brains on how we can better serve these dogs and this pound. They provided us with some great insight and ideas and lit a fire back in us. Alongside the ladies from CASA and RARE we are providing support and helping these amazing dogs find their forever homes.

We brought home three Thanksgiving fosters this year! 2 kittens and an adult. All three are available for adoption through
Here’s some details on each of our houseguest!
1) Petting Zoo - he was found underneath a car scared and only a 1 # little dude. He’s grown up in foster and is 3.5 # now. He’s getting fixed on Monday and then will be available for adoption mid-week. His adoption fee is $10.
2) Karate Kitten (aka Tiny Hector) he is a mischievous goofball that keeps us laughing. He is also getting fixed on Monday and will be available for $10 midweek. You’re definitely going to want to adopt a buddy with him because he needs an outlet to get his playing out.
3) Sweet, sweet Milo! Some adult cats really struggle with a shelter setting, and Milo is one of those. While at the shelter he decided to stop eating. He is the sweetest boy and just wants to snuggle, but the shelter setting isn’t working for him. So ideally he would be adopted right from a foster home and go straight to his forever home, leap frogging the shelter. His adoption fee is also $10. He’s perfect with using the litter box. Dog friendly. Just wants to be a lap cat. If you’re looking for a laidback adult, he’s the one!

Virtual Angel Tree for the Huntingdon dogs!

The Rescue Sisters and Huntingdon shelter are partnering to remind others to share their love of Christmas through the Virtual Angel Tree for the dogs at Huntingdon dogs. Want to be a Christmas Pawgel? (An Angel for the friends with Paws) The Virtual Angel Tree will provide much needed things to assist with the dog’s time while at Huntingdon - basic needs like dewormer, water buckets, flea and tick, and treats.

Simply pick a dog off the Virtual Angel Tree and shop the Amazon Wishlist (the link in our bio). The wishlist items will be delivered directly to Tiff’s house for use when we visit the Huntingdon shelter. The dogs are due for preventatives on 12/8, so items will be delivered approximately on that date.
All three dogs at the shelter are available for adoption. (Rocky needs to complete heartworm treatment but that can be done with an adoption) Help us bring a Merry Christmas to the dogs of the Huntingdon shelter.

We have a weekend guest 🐈‍⬛
Meet True Crime!
True Crime is just waiting for her spay appt on Monday, so we thought instead of utilizing a much needed cat cage at we would let her sleep in Brit’s room for the weekend!
She is the sweetest girl 🧡🧡🧡
Her favorite spot is sitting in the window sill watching the leaves fall. 🍂🍂🍂
If you’re looking for a semi-floofy black cat then she’s perfect for you and will be ready for adoption mid next week. Shes estimated to be 6 months old, so she may stay on the smaller side.

Cheatham Co Animal Control is always looking for fosters… sometimes it’s 3 days, sometimes it’s a few weeks, sometimes it’s a couple months. Fostering can be a choose your own adventure! But definitely consider it!

We have one little foster angel that deserves a proper into into the TRS world.
Litter Dipper came into our home and immediately stole our hearts and gathered all the nicknames… Dippy, Dipster, Dip Dip just to name a few. He was found in a Good Samaritan’s yard and it was clear that Little Dipper was very sick, in fact we were unsure that he would make it through the night, so we brought him home for the night. Then we kept him another night and another night. He had a bad case of pneumonia and struggled to breath. He also did not keep food down very well so he had shots of cerenia on two different days along with antibiotics, fluids and us trying to feed him small meals frequently throughout the day and night.
Unfortunately, his small little kitten body just could not fight off the infection in his lunges and his health became critical in the span of a few hours. We were able to get him a vet appt where we discussed different options for him, but unfortunately his body was tired and not willing to fight anymore.
He was the best biscuit maker there was, the stinkiest 1 # 10oz little kitten, but he was an expert cuddler. He even curled him in my pile of clothes headed for Goodwill and made himself a little bed there. For as weak as he was, he has the best kitten personality.
He passed away on Thursday and we miss his messy little kitten face so much! 🌈

AC Slater was the guest of honor tonight at Friday Night Tailgate with some friends!
He loved it! We’re smiling so big tonight and going to bed with a happy heart. We first met AC back in March at Huntingdon. He kept watching dogs leave and we kept telling him we’d be back for him soon! 5 months later, he finally got his freedom ride.
Taking him to Tailgate tonight was our first big outing in a crowded area and he did amazing! He loved people watching, he especially enjoyed all the kids that loved on him. He was just full of smiles and tail wags. And we wore him out! The ride home was full of 😴😴
Whoever adopts this boy is going to be so lucky!

Porky is our newest foster and he deserves a proper introduction!
Porky came to us from MACC, where their intakes are at an ultimate high and unfortunately with limited space for dogs, Porky found himself in an urgent situation. Like so much of Tennessee, amazing dogs are at risk because the state is so overrun with dogs due to unwanted litters and irresponsible owners.
But anyways, let's tell you about Porky! He's a big boy weighing in at 85lbs. We've estimated him to be a 4-year-old German Shepherd. He is Heartworm negative and he's up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. He was neutered last week so he's all set to be adopted out immediately.
Porky enjoys water, especially coming out of a hose or sprinkler. He's had zero accidents in the house. Hector and Porky have become bffs! He is cat and dog friendly. Porky prefers life with all four paws on the ground and has not attempted to get up on the furniture, no matter how much coaxing Nolan does! He prefers to sleep on his dog bed at night.
Overall, he's a German Shepherd lovers dream!

He is available for adoption through Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.). We will put his adoption link in the comments.

Griffy is looking for his forever home! My friend Sandy is currently fostering him. She has had him for almost a month and the reports are FANTASTIC! House trained ✅ dog friendly ✅ cat friendly ✅ kid friendly ✅ Allllllll the friendlies!

He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. So he’s fully vetted. Estimated to be 6 years old, 13 # and HW-. His adoption fee is $75 through Cheatham Co Animal Control!

Today is the day that The Floof gets to meet his adopter! He’s come so far in his short time at our house, from the scared timid guy on day 1 to the ultimate snuggler that he is today. Tundra and Hector became best friends during his time here.
Tundra is a poster child for foster homes save lives! Fostering from a kill shelter gives us a deeper bond with the animal because we know they had no chance if it wasn’t for hopping in the truck with Nolan and coming to our house until they were adopted.
I think we will look back and say “The Floof was the one that got away” but instead we are being less selfish and sharing this snuggly floofy boy with an adopter that seems perfect for him 💜
(If you see me with teary eyes today, it’s all happiness for my Floof!)

Sweet little Date & Fig went to rescue today!
I missing these little purr-boxes but I’m so excited for them to be on their freedom ride!
They had quite a journey in their short little time. They were found at only a couple of days old, had a bottle baby foster for a few days, then we’re accepted by a nursing mother, they battled coccidia at a young age and had whipworms. And they never stopped purring and being lovable.

He used to have a beagle housemate and gets along well with other dogs.He is a medium-sized dog, weighing 35lbs, which makes him suitable for various living situations.Having been in the shelter for several months, Danny T has developed some pressure sores on his backside that will require time to heal. However, this doesn't diminish his enthusiasm for greeting you with endless tail wags! Danny T is looking for a foster home or adoption.
