Almost Home located in West Bloomfield Michigan is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) no-kill organization dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for unwanted, homeless animals. We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia. We are located out of West Bloomfield Michigan. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about keeping Almost Home operating. Our haven radiates war

mth, love, and compassion to all animals; young, old, sick, healthy, maimed or beautiful. Our haven is a place for animals to feel safe and be safe. Almost Home believes every animal can be adoptable. It just takes time, patience and money. Because we rely solely on donations and volunteers, your help literally means the difference between the life and death of a sweet, homeless animal. We have not let any animal down yet, and we don't intend to. And without our incredible supporters we couldn't continue our No-Kill mission.

👅YAY! Happy Tails!! 👅 Look who found their forever home. It's Millie and Mollie!!

They've been patiently waiting and the day finally came ❤. And the best part, they get to stay together! They've been so bonded that we couldn't imagine them in two separate homes.
Thanks to the wonderful family who will undoubtedly show them so much love and affection. They'll be able to put the past behind them and find a world full of fun playful days and warm cuddly nights.

My parents love me very much and I love them. I’ve never had a happy home in my lifetime until now but I can’t help but be jealous of my fur sibling. You see I want all
the human attention, so I need to be the only dog in the house.

I desperately need a place to go. I can be fostered or adopted. This is an emergency.

I’m a beautiful combination of different German shepherds. I’m told I look very much like a wolfhound. Some people even say I look like an Afghan. Whatever it is, they all say I’m so beautiful and unique looking. ❤️

If people knew the importance of vaccines. They are so inexpensive and convenient. So much pain and suffering
would end.

Our little reindeer rainbow fur children would be alive and living the good life. They never got to experience toys, friendship, cuddling with their humans and siblings and The unconditional feeling of love.
the smell of a crisp spring day, good food, car rides playing fetch and the list goes on. How beautiful life is….

Dancer lost her battle.
With the deadly virus distemper.
Just think if every
animal was vaccinated there would be no such thing of these horrific viruses.

Needless pain and suffering and loss of precious life would not exist.

Our sweet and sensitive foster dad,
“Jude” took amazing care of her. He gave her the good things that life has to offer but it was cut short very short.
Thank you Jude for giving her and Rudolf so much! They were so loved.

Run free furbabies over and above the rainbow bridge.

Prancer continues to do very well but still guarded.
Susan and Kevin continue to give Prancer an abundance of love and care.

🐶 NEW PUP ALERT!! Hi everyone! It's me, Oreo McFlurry, and I'm ready to find my furever home!

I just got here from an overcrowded high-kill shelter. It was scary and cold and loud. I'm so happy to be here with Almost Home and my new foster family. I get to run around and play and cuddle. All the things I was dreaming of. I'm only 3 months old so I've never felt love before. I'll tell you, it sure is nice. I'm never going to take a warm home and a happy family for granted!🩷

A little about me, I'm a 3 month old, female Jack Russel/Poodle mix. My foster is still getting to know me but says I sleep through the night in my crate and have good puppy energy. I'm going to make a great companion to my forever family. I am good with other pets and kids. YAY!

Hi Friends, I’m Chewy! Short for Chewbacca. My foster mom says Im the cutest boy she’s ever seen, with a face that will melt your heart! My breed is believed to be an Affenpincher/Brussels mix. I am Estimated at 5-6 years old. Weighing 26.2 lbs. I’m up to date on shots too.

About Me:
I’m such a passive sweet boy, and I am doing really well with her small dogs. I just want to lay near you so I feel the comfort of your presence. You see I just came here to Michigan from this last transport with some other really cool fur friends. I was told it’s my time to find my happy ending and a family to love and cherish me the way I deserve. I somehow ended up at a shelter and I was so scared. I would shake in my kennel and often hide in the dog house, I didn’t show very well there. Luckily, Almost Home saw me online and made sure to save my life.

▪️I really would prefer a home with a fence, and someone to help build up my confidence.
▪️I do fine on the leash, I go potty outside, and I am so docile.

I’m Hendry….. I was just rescued by Almost Home from an overcrowded high kill shelter in Texas.I was so afraid until I got to Michigan and went home with my foster mamma. I’m with my foster family and enjoying every bit of it.
I got a yummy home cooked meal and yummy doggie Ice cream for dessert.

I got to know my three fur siblings and we got along famously.

I love to follow my foster mom everywhere. I think she likes it.

She gave me a bubble bath last night, boy did I need it. I was a very good boy and I cooperated very well.

Foster mamma says I’ve got the most beautiful hair. My hair is a beautiful blonde color with carmel and toffee highlight’s.

Foster mama is thinking about me getting a puppy hair cut. What do y’all think?

🌸🐶Oh. My. Gosh. Meet Gilly and the cutest ears in town! On a scale of 0 to I-gotta-have-her-in-my-life, she's a YESS!💍

Gilly is a 7-year-old, female Wirehaired Chihuahua mix weighing about 8 lbs. She’s been learning how to be a pampered pup while waiting for her forever family. Gilly is still adjusting to household sounds and equipment but is making great progress with the help of her loving foster family.

Gilly can be a little nervous meeting new people, especially when it comes to hats, hoods, brooms, and mops. (Let's be honest, we're all nervous when we see brooms and mops.)
She prefers calm introductions and will warm up once she feels safe. Gilly LOVES toys 🥎and has become quite the little thief, stealing whatever she can find! She’s also learning that fingers, toes, ears, and hair are not for chewing.

🐕Leash walking is still new to her, but she’s improving with short walks. Gilly enjoys running laps around the yard—she’s a speed machine!

🚐 Another Successful Transport from our 🎉New Years Transport-1/16/25! We absolutely love saving lives! (15 more saved!)

We are so happy to be able to rescue so may incredible doggies and give them a chance of a better life! They were so scared and shaking and cold but we fed them delicious chicken, cuddled and hugged them and told them everything will be okay that this is the beginning of their new journey. Thanks to our incredible rescue partners, transporters, and volunteers for coming out and helping in this cold blistering weather! Also to our wonderful foster parents who took these babies in with open arms! These babies are not available yet, but we will post the ones who are available in the upcoming weeks.

I’m Sophie a beautiful kind hearted Chinese Crested dog. My story is sad because my owner who was the love of my life passed away.I was with her since I was a baby. I only knew love and affection.

❤️Hi!! My name is Darby and I can't wait to find my FOREVER HOME! Please won't you help??
I've got the sweetest eyes and a brand new haircut I can't wait to show you!

🐶I'm a 3-year-old, male (neutered) Poodle mix weighing about 23 lbs.
-I am an active guy full of cuteness and looking for my forever family to shower me with love.
-A family that is just as active as I am would be my dream.
-A yard to run in would be nice too. My foster mom says I have puppy energy. Of course I do, I'm young at heart.
-I do tend to bark at other dogs, so I am unsure about another dog in the house. I like to be the center of attention. I am not sure about cats.
-I sleep through the night in my crate.
-I like to cuddle and just be your all around best friend.

I am heart worm positive (and an enlarged heart as a result) so this does require I go through multiple treatments. Almost Home says not to worry they will cover the fees and I will be just fine. This does require me to be calm to let the medication work. But after completion, I will be back to my old self. No worries.
