Almost Home located in West Bloomfield Michigan is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) no-kill organization dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for unwanted, homeless animals. We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia. We are located out of West Bloomfield Michigan. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about keeping Almost Home operating. Our haven radiates war

mth, love, and compassion to all animals; young, old, sick, healthy, maimed or beautiful. Our haven is a place for animals to feel safe and be safe. Almost Home believes every animal can be adoptable. It just takes time, patience and money. Because we rely solely on donations and volunteers, your help literally means the difference between the life and death of a sweet, homeless animal. We have not let any animal down yet, and we don't intend to. And without our incredible supporters we couldn't continue our No-Kill mission.

💚🤍💚Meet Devito! The coolest combination you will ever see Frenchihuaha!

Meet Devito, a six year-old male, cute and sweet Frenchie/Chihuahua mixed breed weighing about 33 lbs. In a short period of time Devito’s sweet personality emerged. He loves to cuddle and receive loads of affection. Devito will also cuddle next to you on the sofa and has no problem rolling over for a belly rub. He loves to play tug of war with soft, squeaky toys and chew on bones.
Walking is an activity that Devito loves and he does very well on a leash. If Devito sees squirrels, hang on, because he wants to give chase.

Devito has a good appetite and sleeps well through the night. He is house trained and there have been no accidents in the home since he has been fostered. Devito is somewhat reserved at first when he meets people, but warms up quickly. He gets along fine with other dogs. Devito has a tendency to chase them, maybe just to play, but his playfulness can be interpreted as aggression. He would do best in a home with no cats. If you have the time to take Devito for walks, snuggle with him and provide him with the affection he needs, this cutie is for you.

I am a 3-year-old, 12lbs, Male Shih-tzu mix,. I heard great things about Almost Home and the forever homes here. So, I was very excited when they said they would save me. I have a very sweet face and a beautiful new coat that is coming in. When I arrived in Michigan I was covered in mats and scared. I was so scared that I wouldn't even let my foster dad touch me! But he kept me safe and took me to the vet right away so they could shave my mats off safely.

Once I was shaved I could relax. This showed me that I really was safe here and was in the right place! But I am still a nervous boy that needs a patient home. Some things that make me nervous are, being left alone, dogs that play too rough, loud noises, the hose, and being picked up. I am doing great in my foster home learning how to overcome my anxieties but my foster dad already has 3 dogs and wants to make sure someone has time for me. I like the other dogs here, they are nice and go slow with me. I also like all new people that I meet as long as they go slow and let me warm up!
We go on daily walks here and I love getting to see new things! Because I am nervous the more new things I see and have good experiences with the less nervous I am! I love to rub on your feet, get belly rubs and sniff around the yard. My foster dad has cats and I like them a lot! I do the best with them. He says I would be best in a home with patient owners and I might be okay with older children ( I haven't been around them).

Hi there! I am Caribou, or “Boo” as my foster parents call me.

I am a 3-year-old 5-pound Chihuahua mix female. I recently came to Michigan from a high kill shelter in the south, thanks to Almost Home. I am still getting used to the colder temperatures however, my foster mom bought me a very stylish coat to help.

I am rather shy and timid but starting to come out of my shell and gaining more self-confidence daily. My foster mom is working with me, and I have only had a couple potty accidents in the house. Most nights, I sleep through the night (in bed with my foster parents.) I will go in a crate but prefer being out. I love to cuddle, go for walks, and get lots of belly rubs. I get along with my foster mom’s other dog but would also be okay with being the only dog in the house. I am not a big barker; I only bark briefly when someone I don’t know comes around. My foster mom says I make a great alarm system.

I am hoping to find my fur ever family and give them all the love I have to give.

Meet Biggie! 🌟

Hi there! I’m Biggie, but my foster family lovingly calls me Charlie. I'm a charming 2-month-old male Husky/German mix, and I weigh about 6 lbs. Just look at my beautiful eyes and those adorable large ears!

I love mealtime because it helps me grow strong, and I’m learning to sit patiently until my bowl is full. I’m working on my potty training, but I still have a few accidents indoors. At night, I’m getting used to my crate so I can rest up for all the adventures ahead!

I adore my foster sisters, who are much bigger than me. We share toys and love to play chase outside! I enjoy chewing on my toys, and my foster family ensures I have plenty to keep me busy and away from things I shouldn’t chew.

Hello everyone! My name is Ahana, and I’m a 10-month-old female Shepherd mix weighing in at 22 lbs. I just arrived from the South, and I’m super excited to be here in Michigan with Almost Home, where I’ve heard amazing things about finding forever homes!

I have a sweet face and a beautiful, silky coat—my foster mom thinks I might have some Australian Shepherd in me. I’m a calm girl, but I do get the occasional case of the zoomies! I’m mild-mannered and tend to be a little quiet, though I can be timid at times since everything is still new to me.

I’m working hard on my potty training and have only had a couple of accidents in my crate due to a bit of separation anxiety. While I’m not the biggest fan of the crate, I feel much better when it’s in the same room with friends at night.

I love going for walks and am great on a leash—I don’t pull at all! I do get a little scared when the leash goes on, but once it’s on, I’m ready to go (unless I hear loud noises like cars!). I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home and absolutely love toys. Belly rubs and butt scratches are some of my favorite things!

I’m good around children and learning to sit and not jump on people or counters. Just keep an eye on me in the kitchen—I can be a bit sneaky when there’s food on the counter!

Hello! My name is Brody. I am a 3 month old, male Chihuahua mix weighing about 4lbs. I am so glad I was able to come to Michigan, thanks to Almost Home Rescue!

I arrived super afraid but after one day I was already showing my awesome personality! I am very energetic, smart, happy puppy, 3 months old with the most beautiful hazel eyes! Tiny but full of power! I love toys, food and I am doing great with indoors potty training! Outdoors was scary at first, also the leash, but with patience my foster mommy thinks I will be ready in no time!

I love to cuddle and play fight with my doggie companions, they are female and very sweet, mild-mannered medium doggies, they have lots of patience since I am a fully energized pup! My foster mom thinks I would be ok in a home as an only dog too. She also suggests a home older children because of my small size, and small dogs only!

Could you be my forever family? I promise you, we will have lots of fun together and at night I will cover you with kisses and hugs! I can't wait to meet you!

❤️🐾Hey Everyone! My Name is Pippa and I am a 11 month old female Australian cattle dog mix. I am shy at first but will warm up quickly. I need a patient home willing to show me the world is not so scary. I have been through A LOT in my short time here in Michigan so please be my furever home.

My foster dad is a dog trainer! He likes to take me to new places and show me new things, sometimes these things make me nervous but because my foster dad always knows what to do I am able to stay calm and know nothing will hurt me. He says because I am so young I will learn quickly and adapt well to your lifestyle! I love to play with toys, and I am a great cuddler when I am tired! I also do well with other dogs, cats, and older kids. It could be really good for me to be with another dog that is confident and can show me the way.

🧸Who could be sleeping in your bed? Meet Goldilocks!

Hello! My name is Goldilocks , and I am an adorable 23 pound, 9 month old, female(spayed) Shepard/terrier mix. My foster mom and dad say I’m the sweetest girl and I act like a princess.

❤ I can be a little shy at first but give me a couple minutes and I’ll warm right up to you.

❤ I am potty trained, haven’t have any accidents in my foster home, I am also learning basic commands like sit, down and place. My crate is my bedroom and I can sleep a whole night without any accidents, I love to be in my crate as long there are toys and good treats inside.

❤ I’m a people puppy. I love being close by, love being pet and kisses are my favorite love language !

❤ I have a big puppy foster brother and we get along so well! We play together, share our toys and even enjoy relaxing together. I can be a little jealous of him sometimes but I am just looking for some love from my humans.

❤ I can be a little afraid of screams or abrupt movements, but I will be fine if you come down to pet me.

❤️ I am doing great in leash walking, I have never done it before so I can get a little afraid when big buses or semi trucks goes by, but my foster mom have been working with me and I am becoming much more confident walking.

🩷Hello! My name is Shirley, and I am an adorable 12 pound, 4 month old, female Shepherd-Terrier mix. My foster mom and sister say I’m the sweetest and look like I am always smiling 😊

I can be a little shy at first but give me a couple minutes and I’ll warm right up to you. I am working really hard at potty training and always going potty outside but I’m just a baby so sometimes I just have to go! As long as there is a potty pad around I make sure to use it if I really have to go! I’m a people puppy, I love both adults and children. I love being close by, love being pet and cuddles are my favorite! My foster mom works from home and I love laying in my bed right next to her. I’m not a fan of my crate, and become a little vocal about it at first but I calm down rather quickly.

I have a big puppy foster sister and we get along so well! We play together, share our toys and even enjoy relaxing together. My foster mom also has a cat and two kittens and I like them too! I respect their space and can take a hint when they don’t want me around. BONUS I am a really good listener if I do say so myself. Peek a boo I’m a bunny! Did I fool you? It’s me Baylee Boo. I’m going to my forever home next week.

You see the holidays are coming
and the Texas shelters are over the top with dogs and cats. Almost Home is working hard to get as many out as possible.

Many of us have medical, physical and emotional issues. I was a mess when foster momma took me in. Now I’m completely full of myself and im enjoying life so much.

I love food, toys, bully sticks , no hide bones, and lotus food chicken and brown rice. I also really love my foster momma and my fur foster siblings the most. They have built up my confidence so I can relax and enjoy every part of life there is.

💙Meet lovable Leo!

Hello! I am Leo. My foster family calls me Murphy. I am 1 year old, 12lbs, male (neutered) Sh*tzu. I can’t wait to find my forever home! I just know it’s going to be so special. I had major surgery to fix my Torn Ligament on my back leg and after much recovery, the vet said I may need some physical therapy but I am now ready to find my pawever home!

I am potty trained and will tell you when I need to go outside. I am friendly and love people. I love contact and to be right next to you. I am not so much of a lap dog, but I like to lay on a blanket in the same room or be next to you. I do walk with a limp because I had knee surgery. I sometimes need assistance getting down from the couch. I would love a home with a fenced in yard so I can explore at my own pace. I love to play with small toys and Nylabones. I am smart and a fast learner—I know 'sit', 'no,' and I am great in the car, and quickly learn the rules of the house. I like other dogs small to medium sized. There is a cat here in my foster home that I like to chase. I can’t help myself.
