Inflammation and Infection.

Zafira is an orphan puppy raised with lots of love and care. Every day for her is a fight, her natural mom couldn't take care of her, so, the human mom does everything.
She came 2 weeks ago having an infection and serous inflammation on her paws, no a common case, but we found a good ointment for her and today she looks great.

Hello everyone. Urethral prolapse is the condition when the tip of urethral duct comes out of the p***s and gets bigger, inflamed and bloody. (Picture #1)
It is very common in English bulldogs related breeds. Its resolution is often the surgery. Today we passed a urinary catheter, reduced the size of the prolapse and continued to surgery. (Picture #2).
Finally we performed to prevent recurrency, followed by castration of the dog.

Por esta razón deberías traer tu perra a esterilizar.

La piometra es una infección en el útero bastante común en toda la población canina. Me atrevo a decir que el 95% de la perras la va a padecer en algún momento. A veces es abierta y el dueño puede percatarse; pero otras es cerrada y los síntomas demoran en aparecer, a veces, demasiado tarde.
El manejo quirúrjico es el más recomendado.

Horner's syndrome.

Riley came last week with ,per owners, eye issues.

Miosis, 3rd eye lid elevation, Ptosis and Enophthalmus are the clinical signs of Horner's syndrome (see picture labeled as before)

Associated conditions such as ipsilateral otitis, retrobulbar abscess, vestibular syndrome or neoplasia shall be considered.

A thorough neurological, otic and ophthalmic exam was performed.

We found and treated Riley for otitis externa, a week after she is doing much better.
