French bulldog artificial insemination (AI).

This procedure is done to optimize the reproduction between to specimens of the breed.
In dogs the more common reasons are:
1. high risk of breed related issues such as hyperthermia, brachycephalic syndrom (Frenchies, english bull dog)
2. Long distance in between male and female, so breeders have to ship the semen.

There are many factors that ensure the success of the AI, I will list some now (but some of them will continue being my secret):
1 Progesterone test ahead the AI
2 Sterile semen collection
3 Let .........
4 Prevent ........
5 Right inoculation point
6 Restrain the female for 20-25 minutes with the rear end upper
7 Prevent stress
7 Confirm the pregnancy by ultrasound at day #28

The dog of this case carries 6 puppies, now I am ready to assist partum soon.

Another successful multidisciplinary case 😽😽

Mama Key is a 6 years old spayed female Cat. She was referred to us due to a caudal abdominal-pelvic mass causing her severe re**al occlusion and . Radiographs were not sensitive enough and she needed (yes, for real, CAT scan).
The radiologist gave us green light to do the surgery since the 3cm-mass was not infiltrating re**um, bladder/urethra or cavity's walls. We also performed a CT guided FNA which revealed suppurative inflammation but the origin was still unknown.

Well, we did the and removed the hollow mass, Ivonne and Tevin were the vet-techs. Recovery from surgery was interesting and always monitoring urination, defecation and rear legs motion.

10 days after the surgery we removed the sutures and biopsy came back as a severe uterine stump granuloma.
Now she is urinating and defecating better, parents are happy and we wish her a great other 6 lives.

Advanced Imaging is possible at primary veterinary care.

This ear canal carcinoma went out of control.

The patient has chronic ear issues and developed lately neurological signs such us left eye Horner's, Left side tongue paralysis and left side laryngeal paralysis (see photos below).

On CT scan, Dr Fogt and Dr yoan_corrales_dvm were able to diagnose CNS invasion responsible of the neurological deficits. In this case the TECA was not recommended due to brain invasion.

Saturday night working with Dr Max at Forever Vets ER.
Sometimes the findings are sad.
This 10YO cat has a brain tumor that we were able to diagnose with contrast CT scan, next step is referring to oncology and wishing the best.

Chico is a 9 month old Pure breed Doberman.
He is well trained, healthy and happy dog, ideal for a family with enough space for him.

Chronic nasal discharge? Full work available as mobile services for practitioners.

This case was Rhinitis confirmed by both, Radiologist and Pathologist. The patient was placed by rDVM on the right medication and is doing a lot better.

☀️☀️2nd Summer Advise 🔥🔥

During the First Summer Advise we spoke about the risk of hypertermia or Heat stroke in dogs while being outdoor during the hot hours these days.

This time we would like to bring attention to hose bath. Very often I have clients that will bring dog outdoors and immediately open the tap and rinse their dogs, they dont realize that the water that was seating there for the last hours has been exposed to the heat and will cause severe burns on the dorsal skin of the dog. Very often we won't see burning signs until 48-72 hrs.
Our recommendation is: if you want to enjoy time outdoors in the garden or back yard with your dogs while you give them a bath, please, make sure you are letting the water to run for a few seconds until you feel with your own hands the water is cold enough and is not going to damage your furry kid.

Be pending our 3rd and last summer advise.

1st Summer Warning: Heat Stroke
These sunny and hot days avoid to walk dogs outdoors between 10am and 6pm
The weathers is lately being around 100⁰F

Dr Aguiar and I saw in the last 24hrs 2 pets suffering heat stroke, one of them comatose, re**al temperature 110F, the second one 109.6F

We found an owner walking a grey mastiff 80lbs at noon and the dog was reluctant to walk and panting, inmediately we stopped our mobile clinic, brought pet inside, drove them home and recommended a cool bath; this young owner had no idea about the danger of high ambient temperatures.

If you have a brachycephalic, obese, dark coat or long hair dog, make sure they remain indoors at the mentioned hours and having access to fresh water all the time.

Remember: heat stroke may be fatal for your dog and very expensive for you.

We will continue educating our clients and community.

Gastric Carcinoma.
This client came to us after several month of vomiting despite treatments, unremarkable bloodwork and plain radiographs.
We recommended to do Barium contrast study, you might see the irregulary contrasted gastric wall (red asterisk).
On the with asterisk represents the marked thickened wall suggestive of carcinoma.
Finally we did the and confirming the neoplasia.
Unfortunately this dog didn't have a good prognosis and based on his poor quality of live, the owners decided to humanly sleep him.
