The WSAVA Global Pain Council is conducting a survey on pain management in Africa. Please complete the survey if you live in or work anywhere in Africa.

Greetings from the Global Pain Council (GPC) of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA). The Global Pain Council is launching a survey to veterinarians living and working in the African continent. The goal of the survey is to determine the perceptions and practices of pain management in dogs and cats, and identify the gaps and challenges hindering the optimal practice of pain management in small animals.

I am contacting you to solicit your support in publicizing this survey among veterinarians in your country. Participation is entirely voluntary and anonymous. The survey takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and is available in both English and French translation through the following link ( http://bit.ly/3NtplA2) or using the QR code available on the attached social media post.

Thank you in advance for your effort in publicizing this survey.

A positive and negative pressure leak test. Remember to close the pop-off valve for a positive pressure leak test and re-open it once you have completed the test. A negative pressure leak test is also shown below but requires a device to suck the air out of the machine. Some anaesthetic machines are fitted with a dump valve making a negative pressure leak test impossible.
