So it’s the end of another year, and what a year it has been. So many furry friends, cuddles and licks.

Once again I had to say goodbye to 2 lovely boys that passed over the rainbow bridge this year 🌈

Well it all started off so well
I had all these big plans of taking piccies of the dogs wearing the Santa hats, but that soon went out the window, as they were quickly destroyed 😂😂😂

Christmas will soon be upon us and many people think of buying a puppy for their children

These are pictures of Yogi when he was 10 weeks old and as with all puppies he looks cute

However the costs and time to look after and ensure a puppy turns into a well rounded adult dog are endless, so please ensure you take all of this into consideration before buying a puppy on a whim

Rescues are currently full and the amount of people I see on Facebook looking to rehome their dog because :-
1 they can’t afford it
2 they don’t have time to walk it
3 it has bitten someone
4 it is reactive to other dogs
5 they are living in rented accommodation and the landlord won’t allow it
6 the dog is too old

Please please think carefully of all of the above before buying a puppy, they are a minimum 10 year investment, part of your family and NOT a toy that you can get rid of when you are bored with it

With bonfire night falling on a Sunday this year, many places are holding firework events tonight and tomorrow
Many dogs are scared by fireworks so please do not take your dogs out after dark, not having one late walk won’t hurt them but if you do take them out and they get scared you may lose them 😢

What a start to September, boiling hot week, far too hot for the doggies so it was early or late when we went out
Last week was back to normal, with lots of outings and some muddy dogs, as long as they are enjoying themselves though, who cares 😊

I am sorry to have to post this and do not wish to offend anyone, but can I please remind people that I do run a business

If you book your fur baby in with me, when I text at the end of the month to check dates and drop off and pick up times, I would appreciate it if you came back to me, rather than leave it until 3 days before and then say that you don’t want all of the dates booked
When this happens, I have probably already turned someone away that could have had that space and therefore lost money

Also if you specifically ask for a 7am drop off and then turn up at 9.30am, please be aware that I have been sitting around waiting for you and not been able to take the dogs out that are already here, and may have missed my spot at paw print adventure park that I still have to pay for

Lastly my costs are very reasonable, so please do not ask for a discount, I have customers that use me week in and week out that don’t get a discount, if I provide it for one I have to provide it for everyone, I do still have bills to pay

But hey the rest of Europe is sweltering in heat and we here are drowning in rain ☔️
We have managed to get some dry play times in this week at Paw Print Meadow thankfully

Having great times up at Paw Print Meadow, the ladies work so hard to ensure the doggies all have a fab time, with the new sandpit and the mini maze, although a few of them couldn’t work out how to get out 😂😂😂😂

Well I don’t know about you, but I feel like time is flying by, but hasn’t the weather been fabulous. Now I love the sun 🌞 but unfortunately it’s not so good for the fur babies
We have still managed to have some fun, and attached are some photos
I even managed to get a short break in last weekend with my cousin, who spoilt me something rotten 🥰

LETS TALK KENNEL COUGH

Wanted to make you all aware that i rang the vets yesterday to book yogi in for his yearly boosters and they said kennel cough is rife at the moment

Kennel Cough is a respiratory infection that causes a nasty cough in dogs that can last for several weeks. In a similar way to human colds, it is caused by a number of different bacteria and viruses.

The main symptom is the cough which is often described as a ‘hacking cough’. It may sound like your dog is trying to clear something stuck in their throat or retching. Occasionally they may also cough up frothy white phlegm.

Although most dogs don’t appear to be very unwell and will recover well within a few weeks, you should always talk to your vet if the cough persists or if your dog also has:

A reduced appetite
Less energy than normal
A high temperature

In a healthy adult dog kennel cough may be nothing more than a nuisance as your dog will be eating normally and generally in good health. However, there are different strains of kennel cough and some can be worse than others.

In elderly or unwell dogs and puppies the condition can sometimes be more serious and develop into pneumonia. If you’re worried about your dog, please always contact your vet immediately.

In the majority of cases, a dog will recover from kennel cough in a few weeks, in some cases it may linger for up to six weeks. You will need to keep your dog away from other dogs whilst they have kennel cough, as it’s highly contagious.

If your dog is around other dogs, is going into kennels or attends ‘doggy day care’, it is recommend vaccinating them against kennel cough.

The name ‘kennel cough’ is misleading, because your dog doesn’t need to have stayed in a kennel to contract it. Your dog can get kennel cough just by touching noses with other dogs when out on a walk

Some dogs will never show any signs of it but may still carry the virus and as with the Covid vaccination, having the kennel cough vaccination does not stop them catching it, the symptoms will just be less severe

If your dog is showing any signs of kennel cough, can I respectfully ask you to not bring your dog and also keep them away for 2/3 weeks

It can come on quite suddenly so if your dog starts showing signs of it I will ask you to remove your dog for the safety of other dogs, so please have an emergency contact available

Monday morning again already, where is the time going
Strange week last week with sunshine, rain, hailstorms, thunder and lightning
Still managed to get our walks in but it was back to muddy dogs and wet towels 🫣
So glad it is looking better this week 😊

A bit late posting this week, but attached are photos of all the doggies that came last week, as you can see it was a mixture of rain and sun again.
Yogi and I had a day off yesterday after a busy 2 weeks for Easter so we went out for Sunday lunch as a treat which was nice. Yogi particularly liked the lady who came out with some turkey just for him 😊
