I am teaching a new Intro to nose work Class. Class starts Saturday , January 28 th at 10 am.

Hi all,
Beth Livesay will be teaching Introduction to NoseWork starting Saturdays January 28th, 10am; 6 weeks for $120.
This class will introduce your dog to the odors birch, anise and clove. Your dog will learn to search for the odor and to alert the handler of the find. There will be brief lecture parts to teach the handler about the science behind your dog's nose. The handler will learn how to properly prepare the scent and how to build their own scent kit.

This harness is the best I have found for dogs who pull on leash. I also have never had a dog back out of this leash.

Canine nose work - I teach how to search for birch order. After the 6 week class you hand your pup will have the skills to compete in akc nose work novice or if not wanting to compete in nose work have fun hiding the odor around your house or yard. Nose work is a great canine enrichment game

I had to share this boy’s enthusiasm for down. He has been getting lessons twice a week for a few weeks. He was on the euthanasia list for space. Lucky his mom swooped in to

Interesting research on brain function based in size of the dog

New study published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science found that whilst dog brain size does not increase proportionally with dog head size, the shape of the brain does change. The study used CT scanning of dog skulls from 24 dog breeds and four wild canids.

Part of the aim of the study was to develop new techniques to measure brains from 3D digital imaging of skulls. Alongside this, the scientists confirmed that the size of dog brains do not increase proportionally with the size of a dog's head.

They also found that small breeds had a different brain shape, with some regions of the brain being greatly reduced. Because of this small dogs could have lesser ability to process smells and to solve problems compared to other dogs.
