I went on an adventure last night with my foster mom and my favorite teenager. My foster mom had to go check on a dog she's trying to catch and I got to go along for the ride.

We even stopped for an ice cream. I also got to meet a fan, I mean friend.

I don't share much about my animal rescue work on my personal page, but today I'm making an exception.

I recently helped sweet Vic get back to his mom after he went missing for a week. She wanted to say thank you so she created a GoFundMe to help me raise funds for another humane trap (or 2).

I almost always have assistance from the public and from a friend who frequently partners with me on these cases. The amount of hours all of these helpers and I spend planning, driving, setting up, transporting dogs, and taking everything back down again would probably surprise even me.

We've been incredibly blessed to have had a trail cam and several traps on loan to us for months now, but I'd like to have at least one trap of my own to use in case our borrowed items ever need to be used by their owners.

I have been saving up to purchase one, but it's slow going. Each of the dogs we've trapped have required us to spend our own money on gas, wear and tear on our vehicles, food and water for the dogs. Since February I've purchased 3 trail cams and had one donated to me. Each of them has a monthly subscription I pay to keep the cameras active.

I always feel a little weird when people want to pay me for this volunteer work so I always decline. Vic's mom really wanted to give back to our cause so we put our heads together and came up with this plan to help me and many others help more dogs.

Since February we've caught 6 dogs with the humane traps, 2 of which were momma dogs with 7 and 11 puppies respectively. This doesn't even count the dogs we've hand caught. We currently have 3 active cases involving 4 dogs total (plus an unknown number of puppies). We're also peripherally supporting 2 other cases outside of our area with advice and supplies. Having one or two traps of my own will really make a world of difference.

Puppy class is in session fur-riends. My foster mom brought home a puppy and we were all told that it's our jobs to teach him how to dog.

Big Life update fur-riends.

My foster mom took me to see two new doctors. Everyone agrees that I need surgery on my other knee.

Evidently new knees are not cheap so my mom had some difficult choices to make. She decided that the surgery was very important for my quality of life so she decided to send me to Renegade Paws Rescue. So now I'm a Renegade dog!

My foster mom will continue to take care of me. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I'll let you know when I do. She says Athena and I have to stay separated while I heal. Athena is going to be BIG MAD about that so say some prayers for mom. She's going to need them!

Fur-riends my foster mom left me alone for an entire weekend and she kicked Athena out of the house.

Foster mom: Will, that's not what happened. I left you with your favorite teenager and Athena went to boarding.

Sorry I've been quiet fur-riends. I have to steal (see: borrow without asking) my foster mom's phone to make these posts. She's been out chasing tail (dog tails that is). Get your minds out of the gutter people. We're all about spay and neuter over here.

My foster mom and Uncle Butch caught a mom and her 7 puppies recently. I've been told puppies are a lot of hard work so she's been helping out their temporary foster a little bit and also trying to find a foster for momma dog.

I miss her a lot when she's gone so I hog her when she's home. My foster siblings are not impressed by this. I do have my favorite teenager to keep me company, but she's not as easy to trick into giving me more treats.

I got a new blankie!

I refuse to stop chewing on my foster mom's comforter so she got me my own blanket. It's not as squishy, but I can carry it around so that's a plus.

I hope all of my fur-riends get some quality time with their blankets this weekend.

Good morning fur-riends. Me and my favorite teenager have been spending a lot of time together. My foster mom has multiple dog cases she's working on so she's gone a lot lately. We're holding down the furniture over here until she's got more free time.

The teenager put our new pool together. After bath day you would think she would know better. Athena even said it was too cold for swimming. However, I do appreciate the extra large drinking dish when I'm helping mom in the garden.

Today was bath day. Athena jumped right in the bathtub, because she's clearly flawed. I'm a superior Lab mix who should not be forced to go through such wet adventures.

On the upside, I got to air dry on my walk this evening and my foster mom said I looked like a polar bear.

Fur-riends this is my sorry not sorry face. Last night I chewed a hole in my foster mom's quilt. In my defense, Athena, got me all wound up playing and I was just trying to self soothe.

I have a pizza and teddy bear I can chew on, but my preference is soft bedding. 4 out of 5 ⭐. I'm only dropping one star because mom made her disappointed face, but I'll probably do it again. Sorry not sorry.

Good morning fur-riends. It's been four weeks since I was rescued! Can you believe it?

I've been pretty comfortable at my foster mom's house since my first day here because all of my dog and cat siblings have been welcoming.

By the second week I decided it would be ok to start letting my foster family see some of my "quirks". Just a few of them at first, but each day I'm letting them know more about me and my likes and dislikes. They seem to think they aren't so bad so now I'm really letting my personality shine through.

I very much dislike crates. Mom says I don't have to stay in one, but I have to stop nibbling on blankets. I'm considering her request.

I dislike going outside to potty by myself. Luckily my foster mom doesn't let anyone in the backyard without her protection. We in turn make sure she's guarded when she goes into the bathroom, just in case.

I like making a lot of noises. I growl when I do a big stretch. I get a little sassy when I want attention or food. My foster mom says I really must have some Husky in me because I "talk" a lot.

I like to stand around. Standing around in the walkways so no one can get around me is always a good time.

I like being a tall boy so I can help myself (and my siblings) to the goodies that mom leaves on the counter. Sharing is caring!

My absolute favorite thing to do is snuggle. I steal mom's side of the bed so she has to push me over enough to get in the bed then I've got her right where I want her. Mom keeps mumbling about personal space, but I'm not a person so I don't think, whatever that is, applies to me.

Fur-riends my foster mom was asked to help with a slightly different case. This pup, Sugar, was stolen by dog fighters in Effingham County and could be held anywhere in the counties surrounding.

A dog matching Sugar's general description has been running loose with a chain and harness hanging from its neck. My foster mom is trying to help trap that dog to get it to safety.

Why am I smiling this morning? Because I have the best fur-riends around. You amazing people raised almost $1300 for my medical needs. I wish I could give you all a big slobbery kiss!

This post comes with a warning that this may be upsetting to some people.

When you take a dog out of the "wild" after he's been on his own for awhile he may resent his lack of freedom.

It's important for people to think long and hard about whether this is what's best for the dog.

As you can see from the photographic evidence below placing the dog in a safe environment with restricted freedom can result in the dog melting. They become mushy and people need to be prepared.

Fur-riends, I'm insulted! Can you believe my foster mom said I'm not a good sous chef! Is it because I lay in the middle of the kitchen while she's carrying hot or sharp things? Or because I watched as Athena stole a potato and I did nothing? Either way...rude! I'm the bestest boy and she tells stories about me that are greatly over exaggerated.

This is my best friend and foster sister, Athena. Don't let the cuteness fool you. She's crazy! Mom says it's cause she's only a year old so she's still a baby. She'll grow out of it...maybe.

Athena loves cuddling, playing, sticks, playing, eating, playing, going to daycare, playing, jumping in mom's garden beds (where she knows she's not supposed to be), and chewing on my ankles when we wrestle.

Mom said two crazy labs is more than enough. I'm not sure what she means. I'm the bestest boy and certainly don't steal food off counters, eat the cat treats, or jump in mom's garden beds.

This pretty princess is Meatloaf. All of my four legged siblings have human names, except Meatloaf because that was her name when my foster mom adopted her. Mom calls her Loafy, or Sweet Loaf most of the time.

Loafy came from a hoarding situation and she genuinely loves everyone. Just don't try to share her pillow or take her Kong. She is tiny, but fierce.

Loafy and Toby are best friends, but Loafy also enjoys playing with Athena. Loafy was a little jealous of the attention Athena gave me when I got here, but now she tries to join in on our playtime. Having two sisters to wrestle is so fun!

I know you've all seen me with my best friend, Athena. I thought you might like to meet my other dog siblings.

This is Toby. He's the patriarch and he gets final say in who gets to stay. Lucky for me he gave me four paws up.

Toby is 17 years old. He goes to the vet two times a week so I trusted his judgement when he said the staff at the vet's office was nice. He was right! I have to be careful around him because he's small, but we're figuring it out.

Fur-riends I promise my foster mom doesn't usually go around gathering animals up, but the last few weeks there have been a lot of animals in need.

Panda has been hanging out at the Your Pie in Pooler for a few months now. Today she showed up looking sick and they didn't know what to do.

Luckily one of the ladies who helped mom catch Gypsy went there for lunch and text my mom. Mom went to get Panda and bring her back to our house so she can get cleaned up.
She's chilling at our house tonight and tomorrow she will go to the vet to find out why she isn't feeling well.

Please share Panda in hopes we can find her owners, if she has any. Until then she's in good paws.

They did it! The Savannah Quarters dog (named Gypsy by votes from the neighbors) was captured early this morning.

My foster mom said she got lots of kisses from her just like I give her kisses. I could tell when she got home and I covered her in more kisses too.

The rescue community in Savannah is an amazing thing! Dogs like Gypsy and me have a second chance because people like you post about us when we're lost and share our stories.

A neighbor is keeping her safe during her stray hold and we've reached out to One Love Animal Rescue to see if they can take her in. Everyone is short on fosters at the moment so if you can foster Gypsy, or another dog, please let them know. Also, consider making a donation to One Love or another rescue of your choice. Pups like me can't get off the street if we don't have a place to land.

My foster mom has been trying to trap another dog that's been running loose near our house. She's been on the run even longer than me, but I think my mom's gonna catch her.

I told Mom that she has to find somewhere else for her to go though. I'm pretty sure Athena won't want to share my attention with another girl.

Happy Friday! Can you please send some prayers and good vibes my way? I got my x-rays and blood work today. We are still waiting for some results to come back, but it wasn't all good news.

My foster mom says I've had a rough three years. During my short life, I had a traumatic birth, a bee sting that I had a reaction to, an ACL surgery and got adopted then dumped to survive on my own.

Today we found out I have significant arthritis in both my knees and hips. I also need an ACL surgery on my other knee. I may have to see something called a "specialist". I'm not sure what that is, but my foster mom says I'm special so it must be something good.

Thanks for all the support fur-riends and hug your fur babies a little longer tonight.
