What a beautiful day! If you happen to want to get outside on this gorgeous day, get a little workout in, and help some Kelley ladies, I have the thing for you! We will be unloading this trailer around 12 today (at Purple Rein) then headed to Zachary to pick up 200 bales out of the field and going back to the barn to get those unloaded as well. If anybody is able to help with any part of this process I would be so grateful! Even if you move 10 bales it helps 💜💜💜

Although it was a brutally hot week our first camp week was still a success! The campers, horses, and volunteers did a great job! We had many many water breaks, painted a pony, learned how to bath a horse, cleaned tack, learned parts of the horse, and did lots of riding including ba****ck! The show at the end of the week was very creative and our parents and campers got to visit with the decorated mascot, Nugget! We still have a couple spots open for the July 17-21 camp if anybody is interested 💜🐴💜

Sunday we dusted off the western tack and took a little trip in the rain to the Capital Area Horse Show for some speed events! We all had a blast and even won a little money that could be used at the tack shop 😱 Marlie and Morgan are showing big improvements and Haven was just there to have some fun and change things up! And of course the trainers had a little fun too. How great are these horses for putting up with the change in scenery?! 💜🤠

Great job to our SEDA Schooling Dressage Championship riders! It was a cold windy morning and we had some opinions about that from the horses but this group handled it well! Annabelle/ Scout are the junior starter and training division champions, Momma Dawn and Nike the adult amateur western dressage intro champions, and Dorothy and Ella got third overall for the junior training division. Thank you for those that came out to help or support and huge thank you to the people that stayed home to take care of all the horses back home!

Last weekend was the Lagniappe Equestrian Center jumper show and derby cross! We had a great time and somehow everybody remembered their courses for the most part! We had 2 champions, a reserve champion, green horses schooled, and a few light bulb moments! It was a long weekend after bringing a horse to the vet school at 2am on Friday and 11 horses at the show so thank you to everybody who helped out this past weekend 💜

Failed on some better pictures but I will work on buying some! January 30 we made a last minute decision to have some fun at the Capital Area Open Horse Show benefiting 4H. A student that has been dying to get to a barrel race went on Butters who was amazing! Tianna and Nikhol brought Sunny, Buster, Flame, and Kajun and had a blast with some speed events. Got the lesson ponies out for experience and fun and they were perfect of course! We love being able to branch out in other disciplines 💜

Wow we’ve been busy! Here come some updates 💜 January 22 and 23 was a very cold dressage schooling and SEDA championship show. The horses handled this weather like a bunch of champions! As always thanks to my students, my family, horse owners, barn helpers, Anne Hornbeak, show organizers, and everyone else involved. None of this is possible without the awesome team we have! We even had some delicious cake for my Birthday 🎂

I will update everyone on the show last weekend soon but for now please keep our little barn kitty, Frappuccino, in your thoughts and prayers 💜 She is in the hospital and we are just hoping for a good outcome. I worked at AVS for 10 years so I know she is getting the best care and my friends there are giving her extra love 💕 ~Nikhol
