I am a ferret who loves playing, gardening and giving cuddles. I have three brothers, one who sadly gained his wings but will forever be remembered. Together we are called a "Business" and guess who is in charge? ;)

On my page you will get to see the fun my brothers and I get up to, aswell as my fur sisters and other critters. which we hope will bring a smile to your face and brighten up your day.

How is it July already?! This year is going by so fast. Please remember to take some time out of the quickly passing weeks to relax and refuel your mind and body. After all, a car can’t run without fuel and the same applies to us humans (and ferrets!). ☺️💕🐾

Happy world book day! We are celebrating by enjoying a few of our favourite books. This is just one of Elfo’s favourites - Hee Haw! It’s a fun book suitable for young readers. Filled with fun illustrations and clever use of rhyme and alliteration, it’s definitely one to read or listen to. 📚🐾🫏

It is with a very heavy heart we write this post. In the last year we have lost 2 of our precious boys. First was Tommy, our old rescue boy who became ill very suddenly one morning with vomiting and lethargy. Unfortunately as we were getting ready to go to the vets he deteriorated and passed away. It has been a few months but we still miss seeing his little toes around the house, stashing all the toys and yarn.
Then last week we had to make the hard decision to let little Duffi go. He rapidly declined in less than 24 hours with neurological symptoms. We ended up at the emergency vet where they placed him in the incubator, gave fluids and pain relief and checked his glucose - everything came back normal apart from his worsening symptoms. She performed some reflex tests which he was slow to react to, hinting towards something neurological. At that point there was no more that could be done to help except make the decision we all dread to stop him suffering. He passed away peacefully in my arms. It’s not the same here without seeing his face every morning asking for his morning food or doing some trick training with him most days.
Both boys will be forever missed. Elfo is more subdued since their passings so we are keeping a close eye on him, giving him extra attention when he wants it along with his favourite food and treats. 🌈🐾

Day 6 and we've been busy sorting through our toysand donating any still in good playable condition to charity. You could do this too and bring a smile to a child or animal who may go without this year. Just make sure they are in a clean and workable condition first. 🙂🐾

It's day 1 of our 12 days of Ferretmas and we are busy decorating our tree. Have you got your tree up and decorated yet? 🎄🐾

It's been a week since we put the petals in to dry and press so thought we'd check on their progress. They're looking good but still feel as though they need another week, so back under the book stack they go! 🌹🥀🐾

Before the rain comes, we've been out gathering a few rose petals to try pressing. 🌹🥀🌸🏵️
Another easy craft to do at home, as all you need is some baking paper, heavy books and some petals or flowers.
You want the petals/flowers to be free from any water, otherwise they will spoil in the process.
To do:
Open your book and place one sheet of baking paper on the page. Next, place the petals/flowers on this sheet without overlapping them. Place another sheet of baking paper ontop of the petals/flowers and carefully close the book. You can add extra books ontop to increase the weight while pressing. Leave the book laying down and check back in a week or two to see how they are going.

Nature frames are a very easy and simple idea that can help focus on the beauty and colour of the world around us. All you need is a piece of paper or card with any shape cut out of it. Alternatively you could use an old frame. 🐾🌹🌿🌱

Another day, another set of plants to put in the garden 😁
This time Lavender. The scent of this herbaceous perennial is long believed to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.
Not only is it a pleasant plant, both visually and scent wise for humans, but it's a fantastic plant for attracting butterflies and bees to the garden. 🌿🦋🐝🐾

We're hoping the small garden birds will enjoy the mealworms on offer in this macrame feeder. Made using twine and an old, glass desert dish we had laying around. 🙂
We've already got a Duffi bird helping himself to them 😂

Day 21 of we've been harvesting our cherries and what a fantastic crop it is this year with some left for the bugs and birds. 🍒🐾
By leaving some for the wildlife we are helping to encourage different species and improve the biodiversity of the garden
*Please do not feed your ferrets cherries*
