Due to no fault of his own rooster will potentially be looking for his new home.

Rooster has only been with us since the beginning of January.

Approx 6 years old
14.1
Gelding
Unregistered Spotted Cremello Welsh cob type

Rooster isn’t for the faint hearted, he’s a complete project for someone as he is nervous and take him a while to settle in, hes good to catch in the field (we do leave his head collar on)

I have a video from his previous owner of him driving, they said he was backed to ride as a 3 year old and left to mature, In the right home and some 1-1 he will be a lovely horse to own.

Low 4 figures.
He will not be going to just anyone.

💩 Why do us crazy horses owners pick up the horse poo in our fields?

Prevents parasites - Horse droppings are a breeding ground for worms. Removing poo breaks the parasite life cycle and keeps horses healthier.

Protects grazing quality - Horses won’t eat grass near dung. If poo isn’t picked up, large areas of pasture become “roughs” and wasted.

Stops disease spread - Manure can carry bacteria and harmful organisms. Regular poo picking reduces the risk of illness spreading between horses.

Improves grass growth - Too much manure in one spot overloads the soil with nutrients, killing grass instead of helping it. Clearing it keeps fields balanced.

Controls flies - Less poo = fewer flies. This matters for comfort and for preventing fly borne diseases.

Keeps fields usable year round - Clean fields drain better, smell less, and are easier to manage, especially in wet weather.

Reduces harrowing needs - If you pick poo regularly, you don’t need to drag or harrow fields as often, which can spread parasites.

Looks after the land - Especially important on shared or rented land where pasture condition really matters. I find it really therapeutic! Plus I am respectful to the family who own the land too.

Short version: poo-picking = healthier horses, better grass, fewer flies, and happier humans!

💚 Nutri-fec animal health experts test your horses, cows, sheep and more poo samples which is an amazing way to keep on top of parasite control! It’s down to you to keep your animals healthy! Check out their page and get testing! I find the results so interesting!

Thanks to Lillico Country Store for kindly donating us ‘Perry’ the wheelbarrow. I also got this miniature p**p scoop from Lilico too, it’s perfect for Henny’s teeny tiny poo nuggets and small enough that Sophia can use it too!

It’s that time again! Please be REALLY careful with the grass this week. I have been out to a couple of horses (not native fat ponies, but a shod thoroughbred and a very fit/lean warmblood) who both have raised pulses and sore feet after being turned out for one day on “better” grazing. I also received a phone call this afternoon about a 3yr old pony with no history of laminitis, who is rocked back off her toes. Finally, tonight I came home to find that my own highland has a rock hard neck and looks bloated, even on very restricted strip grazed track. The grass out there is frankly dangerous at the moment. Please, please be cautious! Call your vet if you see any/early signs, and TELL YOUR HOOFCARE PROVIDER. They might need a longer appointment slot than usual, or a shorter cycle, or to ask you to request markers on your xrays, or to bring extras like therapy boots/pads, a different type of shoe, or they might just have some nuggets of wisdom.

(EDITED TO ADD THAT I AM IN THE UK)
