I truly can’t say enough about this girl, Tinsel! She is the most laid back puppy of them all and seriously so sweet! Her demeanor is definitely more that of a golden retriever! She is still looking for her forever home! If you want a snuggler, Tinsel is certainly your girl! So calm & loving! To say I’m in love with this sweet girl is an understatement! 🥹💕🫶🏻

Babies are 4 weeks old today, today will be the day we transform the whelping box area into a play area and we are also trying some soft puppy food for the first time as well! They are absolutely loving it and becoming so much more independent! They will also have a second round of dewormer done later today and hopefully try and get 4 week pics today as well! Growing so fast and still waiting on their FUREVER families to claim them 🥰❤️🐾🐶

Great read on the doodle breed ❤️🙌🏻

I got sucked into the doodle hate side of TikTok yesterday and man did it have me mad.

Doodle haters biggest argument is that there are no ethical doodle breeders. I do more health testing than most AKC poodle & golden breeders I have come across. Some couldn’t even properly explain temperment of pups to me. Just because it’s pure or AKC doesn’t mean they were ethically bred or health tested. AKC papers just says your pup is the breed it is. No guarantee included or health assurance. I personally have seen people fake AKC papers. There are bad breeders that cut corners in any breed.

Then they will say if you want a doodle just get a poodle. You cannot tell me you don’t see the difference. I love poodles don’t get me wrong. It’s why I love the blend. Yes curly doodles usually look just like poodles but if you’re like me. You love the wavy shaggy look. No groom could give a poodle that look. Poodle coats are insanely high maintenance, especially if you want them longer, Just like curly doodles. This is why I am trying to breed the curl out. This takes time and multiple generations to get to it.

I love the temperament of a golden retriever. They’re just so eager to please, love you unconditionally, smart and make amazing family pets. I just can’t deal with the amount of shedding that comes with them. Adding the poodle you get a lovely low to non shedding coat that with the right genetics can work for people with allergies. Never assume all doodles don’t shed or that all are good for allergy sufferers. Genetics play a big role here. So if your breeder doesn’t understand genetics and what they’re breeding, it’s a mix bag for sure. Like I said, there are good and bad breeders in any breed.

Then they will say there is no breed standard for breeders to follow but that’s false! Goldendoodle association of North America (GANA) was founded in 2009 to help breeders maintain a breed standard. Let’s also remember that all dogs were a mix at one point. Doodles are here to stay and it’s going to take time like anything new to perfect the breed.

Then they will say there are more doodles in shelters than any other breed. Well I’m not totally sure about those numbers. I can only speak to how my program is run. My clients sign a strict spay/neuter contract also requiring them to surrender dog back to me in the event they ever need to rehome. I hate BYB breeders just as much as anyone else. They’re the problem here and why shelters are over run. Their main goal is quantity over quality. They don’t maintain communication with their families or guide them in caring for their pup.

Let’s change the narrative. Start educating people on adopting OR shopping smarter. You do you and what’s best for you. Don’t let people guilt you into adopting because you want to know where your pup came from or how it was raised.

If you want a golden retriever go for it. If you want a poodle, go for it. If someone wants a fluffy goofy Goldendoodle, go for it! Just do your homework and educate yourself on caring for them.
