There’s no easy way to say this so here it is. We are short $1895 in donations for the month of January 2025.
We don’t want to close our doors!!

I could not sleep, I am in panic mode trying to figure out what to do. Our $5 Friday post raised $35 and we are extremely grateful to those who donated. But we desperately need more help.

We had several emergencies and medical cases in January, plus we have over 45 other animals who need routine and ongoing care. Then there are the special needs, who need extra care.
Without the donations we lose our ability to care for them.

Rescues and sanctuaries around us are closing and we are scared.

We do not want to close down but at this point we see no option. To be honest, most of our animals are hard to place due to special behavioral needs . These animals need us to stay open.

On Thanful Thursday I could tell you all the great qualities that make Mandy an amazing pup but I think today I will just mention that MANDY LOVES EVERYONE; dogs, cats, kids, adults, she loves everyone!!

This sweet girl was found roaming an apartment complex, and completely fending for herself in the elements. She was immediately sweet and talkative, but was very shy. Since then, she has completely blossomed into a little cuddle bug that loves being pet and getting kisses on her head. She has a super adorable tail, she wags it like a happy dog when she gets attention. She absolutely LOVES kids and all people. She is still slightly scared by loud noises, but lives in a very active house at her Foster home currently, and is thriving! She still struggles a little with the other cats and dogs, she has the tendency to be feisty at times. But she can still be found cuddling next to another cat or dog for a good nap. She will adjust more and more as she settles into the good life!
This girl is extremely affectionate, and would be a wonderful addition to a home where she can get all the love she desires!!!

2/1!! Cold Beer and Good Eats!!!

🐶🍺🍷🥤🦞 Sadly, we won't be selling crawfish on the 1st. Due to the crazy weather recently, the crawfish will be molting and just wont taste great. (soft and mushy) We don't ant yoi ro waste your hard earned money on it!

Although Bayou Boyz Swamp Food will be cooking at our "Hauz" on Saturday, they're waiting until Feb. 8th to sell crawfish. I know everyone was looking forward to it, but I can promise, it will be worth the wait!

We have GREAT news.... Hound Hauz and Bayou Boyz Swamp Food have teamed up to offer a fun spot to eat, drink and hangout! Our beer will be cold and the CRAWFISH is never dusted or sauced, but soaked to perfection! 🌶They can turn up the heat if you like it with an extra kick! Since we know some of you aren't a fan of mudbugs, they will be serving gumbo, shrimp, catfish, and gator! Yep, you read that right! Chicken baskets and po-boys for the rest of you!

If you haven't been to Hound Hauz, what are you waiting for?? We have indoor as well as outside seating under a covered patio or tall shade trees. Great atmosphere with a bar and TVs playing your favorite sports.

February 2024
We got a call a momma cat had kittens and she was in distress and kittens were dying.
Another rescue picked up the kittens and left mom behind. I couldn’t see poor mom being left behind and her babies taken away. The left mom behind to be forgotten!!
So off we went to rescue mom…
We named her Miss Sue, she was underweight and dehydrated but antibiotics, good food, fresh water and love turned it around for Miss Sue.
The vet said he had no answers as to why her kittens died, but being homeless and poor nutrition definitely played a role.
We prayed the ones that left with the other rescue survived.
She is 3 yrs old and the sweetest UNFORGETTABLE momma cat.
The saddest part was the excessive licking and her lack of appetite that was probably due to the lack of kittens to care for, she was in distress 😭😭😭😭
When we took her to the vet we were worried that she still had kittens inside. Thankfully there were no kittens left inside of her and we had her spayed, vaccinated, combo tested. She had some trauma to her jaw and her third eye constantly is showing but thank God she is healthy now and recovered from the ordeal of her past life.
Everyone has heard of the forgotten moms. Rescue take in kittens because they are cute but leave moms behind ( we don’t), adopter all want the cute little kittens. Who can blame them they are CUTE!!
Miss Sue was a forgotten mom but we changed this. We want to make sure she is unforgettable and change the course of her life.
Please help Miss Sue!!
We have nursed her and taken her to her vet visits. She is ready for a foster home or a furever home.
