Happy Friends Farm As a city girl born and raised in NYC, I never imagined living and working on my very own farm! I hope this can be understood.

But, as the universe would have it, we now own 41 acres and are living a dream! For the safety of our animals, and to accommodate our work schedules, we are available by appointment only! As much as I would like to share my love of what I do with others, my farm is not open to the public. Please understand, my farm is also my home, and aside from being a very private person, I work all day, every

day and my schedule would simply not allow for it. When a customer places an order, I do meet with them personally to take the time to explain each product. My insurance company has also made it pretty clear that due to the nature of a farm (i.e., the potential of somebody getting accidentally hurt- animals no matter the species, are not predictable), it is too much of a liability to have visitors. Happy Friends Farm is a place to purchase products from animals treated with the utmost love and respect. We offer farm fresh eggs from our chickens fed high quality, Non-GMO feed which we ferment for added probiotic benefits, and organic fruits and veggies. We also sell Goat's milk, and Goat milk products such as Goat Cheese (Chevre), Feta, Fudge, Soap, Lotion, and Yogurt. We also make and sell Elderberry Syrup, Ghee, and sweets.

Goat milk Feta cheese is a multi-step, fun cheese to make and although it isn't ready to eat right away, the few weeks it soaks in brine makes the final product all worthwhile!
Pictures are the curd floating in whey after being cut, and after hanging overnight, being sliced and salted. It will continue to drain whey for the next couple of days and then soak in a mild brine.
I use Feta on salad and in an incredible Feta chicken salad panini pressed sandwich.

After farm chores, my long morning continued with the beekeeper's truck getting stuck in the mud and me asking a desperate favor from a very kind stranger to get him out. But alas, the bees have finally arrived at the soon to be new home of Happy Friends Farm!
We use this incredibly tasty, raw local honey in our Elderberry syrup, fire cider, cheese, and soap and is it also available in 8oz, 16oz and 48oz jars.
(FYI: This is not the same honey you may have purchased from us within the last year- this is by far the yummiest I've had in PA!)

Happy friends dog treats!
To celebrate the arrival of our newest happy friend, Kimber, I have decided to offer homemade dog treats!
These simple treats are made with three ingredients: Goat Cheese, Goat Milk Yogurt and Flour! Not only are they easy to digest, but judging by the reaction of the dogs, they are pretty yummy too! With constant training going on with Kimber and the rest of the pack, it made total sense to make my own treats rather than buy something with a long list of unknown ingredients and preservatives.
The treats come packaged in 5oz portions, and will be $5. One of my favorite parts of these treats is that you can break off a training sized morsel, or give a whole piece to your best bud!

I would like to formally introduce Kimber to Happy Friends Farm!
Last Saturday, February 26th, at 12:04am the newest member of our livestock guardian team arrived at our farm in Nazareth from my best friend Amy's farm in Central Florida. Kimber is 50% Karakachan and 50% Maremma, and the niece of our two boys, Heckler and Koch. It has been an interesting week here at the farm transitioning a puppy who left on an 80 degree day to the cold northeast, so she has been spending some time indoors when not being acclimated to the current weather and life on our farm! As expected, the goat herd is wary of this little fluff zooming past them and the boys are not so pleased with her presence, but in time, she will assist in keeping the farm safe from predators and fit right in!

Two months ago, my dear friend Keely shipped me a care package containing a half cup of Kefir grains she uses at her farm in Florida to make raw Cow’s milk Kefir. Each day since, I have experimented with fermentation times, and for the last month or so have been making a consistent product that I am happy to be able to offer to our customers! We are now offering raw Goat’s milk Kefir in quart sized containers on a regular basis.
Kefir may not be my favorite fermented drink, but the health benefits along with some blueberries and local honey make it quite palatable! Since the Kefir is made daily, I also share with my dogs and chickens who not only love how it tastes, but have also reaped these wonderful probiotic benefits!
Please take a look at our website to order and check out our other products while you are there!

Wishing a Happy, Healthy and Blessed 2022 from the farm to our happy fans!

We will be planning a soap making class schedule in the near future.
For 2022 we are hoping to be adding other classes including cheese making, natural laundry detergent and maybe even goat milk caramels. We will be partnering with our kindred spirit Wendy of Curly Goose Farm, using fiber from her Heritage breed sheep to add something unique to each class!

Lastly, we wanted to take a moment to express gratitude to our followers- we appreciate you!

Does November really start in three days??
We have two exciting upcoming events, a Farmer’s Market next Saturday, November 6th from 10am until 2pm at Curly Goose Farm, 127 Monocacy Drive in Bath, and our first Soap making class the following Saturday, November 13th at 12:30pm (almost filled up!!) also at Curly Goose Farm
Since the Holidays will be here before you know it, I will be making the much anticipated (and delicious!) Goat Cheese logs! They will be available in Cranberry Walnut, White Chocolate Cherry, and Blueberry Vanilla! (This year I made my own Vanilla Extract specifically for this flavor)
These will be available for pick up at the market next weekend and I will be updating the website as soon as I have my first batch made for pick up at my farm. Since they will be fresh frozen, they do not even need to be ordered in advance!
I will also have gift sets available, in Lavender and Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. These will be in an organza gift bag with a matching soap and cream, a whipped body butter, and a soap dish. These will also be offered with a felted bar of soap!

I truly feel there is nothing more genuine than supporting a small local business by giving or receiving a gift that has been lovingly hand crafted.
So what if you can make the gift yourself and still support a small local business, or in this case, two?!?
Over the last few years I have been asked if I would ever teach a soap making class. Well, the time has come! The lovely Wendy from Curly Goose Farm has graciously offered her heavenly cozy fiber shop to host this event- and better yet, will be teaching the art of felting a bar of soap as part of the class, using wool grown on her farm!
Upon completion of the class, our students will learn the fundamentals of soap making, make their own batch of soap, felt a bar of soap, and if the weather is agreeable, meet some sweet sheep! There will also be other holiday gifts available, made on both her farm and mine!
The class will be small and hands on. The cost of the class will be $70 per person and will be held on Saturday, November 13th at 12:30pm and will last two to two and half hours. Since we will be handling Lye, this class will be limited to ages 18 and older for safety’s sake!
Please private message me as seats are very limited, but we will be adding classes as needed!
Pictured is Ms. Callie, a Heritage breed, Karakul sheep, listed as "threatened" with the Livestock Conservancy. Ms. Callie has gifted her beautiful wool for our felting project, along with Strudel and Cecilia, half-sister Nubian goats, who will be gifting their milk as well!

Elderberry Syrup Update!
Happy news on a happy sunny Friday! I had the pleasure of meeting Jes from Heinsohn Farms last week, who introduced me to her wonderful father in law who is a beekeeper! I am thrilled to announce that our Elderberry Syrup, flavored chevre, and fire cider now have local, raw Pennsylvania honey in it! Please check out our website to place an order- it can be picked up at our farm in Nazareth, or shipped.
For my Florida followers: I still have plenty made with local, raw Florida honey left for you! If you did not know, my friends Heather and Brad of Butthead Farms are selling my Elderberry Syrup at my former spot at the Norwood’s restaurant Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 8am until noon- oh, and they have a few jars of my Candied Jalapenos too 😉

This week’s spotlight is on Goat’s Milk.
Every morning, I hand-milk six of the girls who gift me a gallon and a half of what I refer to as the “nectar of the goats”. I sell this milk as raw, filtered, quick chilled in half gallon containers for $8. With the remainder of the milk, I make cheeses (feta, plain and flavored Chevres), yogurt, peanut butter fudge, soap and lotion. I have also made Ricotta, Paneer, ice cream, and sour cream by special request. For those who do not know, Goat’s milk is extremely digestible with more Calcium, Vitamin A and Niacin than cow’s milk, and if I may say so myself, delicious! Worldwide more people drink milk from goats than any other animal. Goat milk has moisturizing qualities and keeps skin soft. It can improve your complexion, fight acne, improve overall skin health and helps rid your body of dead skin cells and brighten skin tone.
The majority of my milk customers use it for their children who had allergies or digestion issues using formula and cow’s milk. Goat’s milk contains only A2 casien making it protein wise the closest milk to human breast milk. A few of my arthritic customers also drink it for its anti-inflammatory properties. I even have several responsible breeders who have used it to wean puppies. I personally have used it in a formula to bottle-feed orphaned puppies which thrived on this! For a limited time only, I will be selling a half pint “sample” for $2 for those that would like to try it, but do not want to commit to a half gallon. In my house, it is the only milk we drink! I use the milk from my ladies in my cereal, in my coffee, in my cooking and with my cookies before bedtime.
Pictured is one of our milkers, Honey, with daughter Manuka (born in January) who will nurse from her for as long as momma allows!

The response received for the Elderberry syrup was so wonderful- thank you, friends. I was able to make a bunch more at the beginning of the week and have updated the website!
I feel very strongly about this particular product as I have had such amazing testimonials from many many families and individuals.
This was a rough week at the farm. I never thought I would say this, but my farm in Florida was on high and dry land and oh so very flat, but the last two weeks here in PA brought rains I don’t think I experienced in three hurricanes in 8 years of living in Florida. We were able to get all of the animals off of the ground and for the most part, kept them dry. Very eerie looking out the back of my house to see my seemingly innocent creek creeping close to the fence posts which keep the animals contained. We lost power for 24 hours, which meant no cell or internet service, or running water, and there is still water running down the property from the road but it is now Saturday, and we can't harp on the past bc life and work doesn't stop on the farm.
For Labor day weekend I've decided to spice things up a bit with a Mango Habanero goat cheese. Definitely has a kick to it but balanced out nicely with the sweetness of the mango. If that's too hot, I've also made a Candied Jalapeno goat cheese for all of our Candied Jalapeno fans. If goat cheese is not your thing, this week I've made and canned 30 pounds of Candied Jalapenos. Also ready to go is the newest batch of Fire Cider! For those of you that do not know what Fire Cider is, let me tell you! Despite its name, my version is not spicy. It does contain jalapenos and horseradish, but not enough to give a kick. Fire Cider begins as Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother and has many ingredients which all bring something to the table. These include: horseradish, beets, jalapenos, onions, garlic, lemons, oranges, blueberries, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, ceylon cinnamon and local raw honey. It is used to aid in digestion, dieting, for aches and pains, as an anti inflammatory, and I've had testimonials about skin clearing and sleeping better!
Enjoy your long weekend and thank you again for supporting local!

Hey Happy Friends!
It is hard to believe we are at our new farm in Pennsylvania for two months now! Things are finally settling down, and as I say on my homepage, ‘but now it was time to pay the feed bills.’ I relied heavily on the farmer’s market in Florida to feed and care for the girls, but have not found a market here as of yet that I would be comfortable being part of. To be honest, my anxiety has been real bad and this makes it hard to be social right now, so I am focusing on selling through our website, with farm pick up and shipping options.
I humbly encourage those who have not been on the site in a while to check it out and see what we make and have for sale. The inventory has been updated, and the discounted/free shipping are automatic at check out.
And lastly, a sincere “Thank you” to all of the Pennsylvania locals for the very warm welcome I received on the local FB pages on which I introduced myself. I am so happy to be here and be part of this great community. Thank you again, in advance, for supporting your locally owned, woman run, small business!

My dearest Happy Friends Family-
This update is rather different than those I have posted in the past. I have wanted to make this particular update for quite some time, and so I have forced myself to take a moment to let you all know what is going on. After all, it is because of our loyal supporters and followers that Happy Friends Farms exist in the first place.
On June 10th, thirteen goats, seven chickens, four guinea fowl, four pea fowl, six guinea keats, one pea chick, five dogs, two cats and myself left our farm in Florida on a one hundred degree day, to journey 1000 miles north to our new home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. We arrived one month ago today, on June 11th.
This move had been many months in the making, as I have not been truly happy in Florida for a very long time. I also feel that we all will thrive in a four season climate as none of us were big fans of the oppressive heat. God willing, come winter time, my animals will have a beautiful barn to call home, and they will never have to experience the extremes of any weather conditions.
I wanted to take this time to express a most heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been there for me, via my website, my farm or the farmer’s market. My gratitude to each of you is more than I can express in words. I do need your support, now more than ever, as I still have to feed and care for these beautiful beings that depend on me. I have decided to implement some shipping options to those who are no longer able to purchase our products locally in Florida. With this being said, I will be offering $5 flat rate shipping on all orders under $75, and free shipping on orders over $75. I have also began updating my website for you all to meet the friends who I have the pleasure of sharing my life with each day, so check it out!
I thank you in advance for your continued support which will allow me to further prosper and grow, doing something that I truly love, and ultimately fulfilling my dream.
Yours truly,
Danielle and her Happy Friends

Wishing a Blessed, Happy Easter to our Happy Friends! Since Marshmallow has a lot of fans, I thought i would share her second birthday post!
Happy 2nd Birthday to my Marshmallow (aka 'Marshmee', 'Shmees', 'Marshmallow meat goat' and 'white goat') She is my heart goat. She is a spoiled rotten princess, who at 110lbs, still gets a bottle every day, (and I am made well aware if I am even a moment late when i see her head staring at me from the window)- and I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy some pics of her over the last year, and a video of the big baby having her birthday bottle!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKf1wlbN3fo
