Hi 👋 I thought I would put a face to Forest Fae Pet Tags and tell you a little bit about me and how it all started.
My name is Jessie and I live in a converted bus with my 3 dogs (Sadie the Staffy mix, Kiowa the Great Pyrenees mix and Fin the Hungarian Vizsla) a cat called Meowcom and my beautiful partner Nath. My special interests are pure bred dogs, Ancient Egypt, mushrooms and surfing.
We have been living off grid for most of our 4 year relationship, starting off in a caravan and now the bus.
Forest Fae begun when I was living on 100 acres of land in Kinglake Victoria (see photo 3 ). I can only describe this place as magical. It was alive both physically and spiritually.
The land sparked my creativity again and my dogs kept going on lengthy adventures… hence the beginning of Forest Fae Pet Tags.
Now I live in a small beach town in Queensland. This time surrounded by paperbark trees and sunny days 99% of the time! I have really found myself in this town and I think it will be our forever home.
I love making pet tags for your dogs and cats as they are a good peace of mind knowing that if your dog or cat does go on a sneaky adventure you’re contact details and on their collar for a safe return home 🐾🐾

The Great Pyrenees (or Pyrenean mountain dog) dates back to the 12th century France and protected shepherds and there flock from wolves and bears and guarded homes and castles.

Friendliness : ⭐️⭐️⭐️
There guarding and protective instinct means they are reserved around strangers. They are deeply loyal and affection to there families, including kids.
Trainability: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pyrenean mountain dogs are bred to be independent thinkers to do there job of guarding property and livestock. This can make training approaches different to other breeds. They are incredibly smart and consistent training from a young age.
Animal compatibility ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A natural protective instinct towards livestock and most prey animals means the Great Pyrenees can live very harmonious with other pets with early exposure and training. They can be dominant and strong willed, so appropriate socializing and interactions with other dogs is advised.
Energy levels ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great Pyrenees have a calm demeanor so they can come across as “lazy”. They generally aren’t over demanding for high intensity exercise but enjoy a good run around especially in rugged terrains.
Grooming needs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Due to there thick wooly double coat, Pyres require brushing with a slicker and comb to prevent matting especially in seasons of dropping there coat. They are bred to be in cold climates, these climates work well for such a coat type so being aware of keeping them free of compacted undercoat will keep them a lot cooler in warmer climates.
Good for first time owner ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great Pyrenees make fantastic loyal family dogs. They will offer a life time of affection and protection. If you are after a dog who isn’t in your face a lot and happy to be outside they are great. Due to there size and strong will, they can become over powering if they don’t have the right start to life. They need an owner is educated on an independent thinking livestock guarding breeds.

The Swedish Vallhund (also known as Västgötaspets) is a Viking dog of ancient legend dating back to 1200 years ago. These low lying rugged cattle dogs are lively, friendly and energetic. Balance, power, and smooth movement are breed hallmarks.

Friendliness : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very friendly and sociable breed. They are very loyal and loving to not only there family, but anyone who gives them pats and attention.
Trainability: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Swedish Vallhunds want to please, they learn quickly and are very intelligent. They can become bored quickly, so keeping training quick and interesting is advised.
Animal compatibility ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There natural herding instincts to put animals in order can come across as bossy and dominant but with correct socialization from a young age these dogs are very compatible with other breeds. They generally get along well with cats.
Energy levels ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There is quiet a bit of individual variability in terms of energy levels, but they are a working farm dog by nature so daily exercise and mental stimulation is highly required. They are lively and eager to adventure with there owners, a perfect smaller breed hiking buddy.
Grooming needs ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Twice yearly shedding required down to the skin removal of undercoat. Other than that they are pretty low maintenance.
Good for first time owner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
If you’re wanting a pocket rocket who is keen to come on adventures, fantastic companion around the house, lower maintenance grooming, responds well to training and has a awesome history these are the dogs for you. I would love to see more of these lively fun dogs around. I think they are super underrated.
