Jan 14, 2023- Hello Ripley friends! I can not believe another year has come and gone. I still keep hoping Ripley will be found and returned home!

EDIT!!! Jan 22- PANDA IS HOME!!!! ❤️

BUT there is another pup that needs your help! Panda has been missing since Jan 9th out of Old Snowmass, Colorado. Here is a message from Panda’s owner Kate McBride:

- “My poor sweet panda is still missing since Monday, January 9, 2023. From the Sopris Creek area of Old Snowmass, CO.

I also just received a scam caller from Houston asking for a family name and number and for me to return a code because they found my dog and wanted to make sure I was real. This is a big scam that I reported to Pitkin County Sherriff. This is so terribly disappointing!
It is my feeling that a human has picked up my dog. Panda got out of his home yard with others (all the others came home together), Panda knows his way home from this area and I believe he’s big enough that it would be unlikely he became a snack. I am calling out for the help of all friends and fellow dog lovers or even animal lovers for your help in trying to find our beloved Panda and bring him home.
I have someone that has been generous enough to offer a two week old, Great Pyrenees mix puppy as a reward for Panda being returned safely, alive and healthy. Thank you in advance. Let’s find Panda!!”

FIRST! please share Panda’s flier with your friends and family.
SECOND! NEVER send a code to someone who says they have your pet OR if you’re selling items “to confirm your identity” to them. IT IS A SCAM from awful people.

Thank you all so so much for your continued support in helping fur babies return home!!! I very mich appreciate you and hope and pray one day we can all celebrate Ripley’s return!

2 years ago today I was flying back to Colorado to find you. Miss you my sweet Bromley 🐺 ❤️

I wanted to dedicate a post to why "searching" for Bromley makes me so nervous.

You see, survival mode creates a completely different dog than what we are used to.

The best way to describe it is relating it to good ol' hide and seek as a kid (bear with me haha)

When you are hiding, you're so scared to be found! As the seeker draws closer to your hiding spot, you feel anxiety and even try to run away to hide somewhere else, further away from the seeker.

This is Bromley right now. 💔

Dogs can feel the pressure of a seeker when in survival mode. He's avoiding being seen like his life depends on it.

That's why I don't specify exactly where a sighting is. That's why I have to straddle the line of asking for help but not too much help. It's because in the off chance someone does see him and it's natural, he is less likely to be pushed out of the area.

It feels awful when I have to turn away search parties or tell people I can't disclose too much. It really sucks. Please know the love and willingness to help does NOT go unseen. It means many worlds to me knowing this city cares this much about my dog.

So I am sorry for holding information close to the chest, yet asking everyone to keep their eyes out.

It has to be natural because he'll know. And chances are if he is sought out he'll run into a dangerous situation, like traffic or a train.

I wish it was as easy as searching, I'd be out there every day. It's a marathon, not a race. I'm learning that every day and it is a big lesson for me. (A notoriously controlling person 🤭)

Know I have so much love for you all. Every heart that holds space for us right now is getting me through. 💓

25/04/2020

Today is one of those days I feel like I’m not showing up for him. Today my efforts feel depleted. When is it going to come back to me? All the flyers, the scent stations, the miles on my truck, the miles on foot. The love. When is it coming back to me?

But when I go low, I somehow get back to strategy.

Gotta get it out somehow. You know I’m ugly crying most days, today especially 😅

I miss him in a way I never knew I would feel. Every time I talk to him “ you’re my best friend” or “ I love you so damn much, this is for you” a knot in my throat fills up with overwhelming feeling of love.

He’s my heart. That space is his.

A new lesson appeared: I can do the work, even amongst the odds. I don’t have a bone in my body that can give up.

Thanks for not giving up either. I hope you all are finding ways to get up too. Whatever type of storm you’re weathering. I’m with you. I’m sorry it’s happening, but hang tough and hold onto hope, friends.

Here’s a place I wish we were. Wild and free! Resting from our hike in and enjoying the summer rain. And Bromley being dramatic about temperature. He is part lizard, I swear 😆

Update. The dog sighted yesterday was spotted by animal control and verified it was not Bromley.

Thank you for all that raised your hand to check cameras, call friends, and check the area. I know we can be vague about sightings.. but it’s because we usually dont have a picture to verify it. We don’t want to waste any effort to be put in the wrong area.

You’re willingness to show up for us never goes unseen. So thank you very much.

We need that one person’s world to align with Bromley’s and spreading word is the best way.

We haven’t had a legit sighting in about a month. It sucks frankly. Tears me and my family apart. We’re still facing forward, never turning our backs on him.

Thank you for doing the same. And staying engaged for Bromley. 💓

***Update. The dog sighted in this area was spotted by animal control and verified it was not Bromley. ****

Potential sighting of a black dog with pointy ears. Does anyone live in this area circled? Have house cameras near the college? Does anyone know if there is a dog missing in this area matching that description?

No picture or coat/marking descriptions. We want to rule out if it’s Bromley or not.

** STILL LOST DOG IN GOLDEN, CO**
**If seen take picture**
**Please share far and wide!*
**$1000.00 REWARD is being offered for information leading to his safe return**

Bromley has been missing since February 1st in Golden, CO

Bromley is a cattle dog/ blue heeler WITHOUT a tail, tan paws, and a mostly black body with speckles of white.

I’m asking for help from the surrounding areas to help bring Bromley home to me. He could be traveling in any direction. Some things you can do:

1. Share this post and page with your friends and family, neighborhoods, and businesses, pet professionals, veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters and walkers

2. Copy and paste this post and the image to your NextDoor community.

3. Hand out flyers in your neighborhood and businesses- I can email you the PDF

4. Keep an eye out for him everywhere. Dog park, walking path, a hike, or with a neighbor that didn’t have a dog before. Check the homeless community in case he was taken in

Thank you endlessly to all of those who continue to believe Bromley will be back in my arms soon. There is hope. Please spread the word

11/04/2020

I asked for you to give me a sign today. I didn’t know what to expect, but you know me best.

You know that speckles of rain in the sunshine are my favorite. And rays of light cut sharp by shadows catches my eyes. Or that warm winds ground me as I close my eyes and stand still.

Earlier today I asked and this evening you melted my heart as I walked home. Light rain reflecting from the sun. Against a dark gray sky with even a double rainbow!

You delivered. You spoke my language. I wish you were here.

You see, Brom has always been at the other end of those fleeting bits. Watching, waiting- for me to soak it up. He’d never tear me away. Maybe a long sigh. A shift. But always slack in the leash, looking up at me. And hopefully feeling the same sense of hope.

I’m digging for a lesson here, I can’t articulate it yet.

Inevitably time will pass, and you’ll be home or you won’t. But I’ll always wait. I’ll always wait for you sweets. 💓🐺

08/04/2020

Is anyone able to help us out by handing them out at doorstops?

A very sweet person made doggie treat bags for people who live in Golden and want to be prepared if they see him on their walks or want a way to spread the word. They are at the Kriser store in Lakewood near Mills mall.

If you’re in the neighborhood and your pup needs some treats, pick up a Bromley baggy in case you come across him!

I love this idea for people wanting to help. I know you’ve heard it a million times for me. But searching for him isn’t conducive, but in your regular routine walks around Golden, this is a way to be prepared if you see him.

The kind of kindness warms my heart. I feel so supported by you all. Thank you for holding Bromley in your hearts 💓❤️

06/04/2020

POSSIBLE SIGHTING. Today 7pm. Lakewood

We will not be disclosing the exact location but if you reside in this area can you please make sure the post is updated on Nextdoor and ring etc.

Please please STRESS the importance of NOT calling whistling or chasing AND getting a photo.

This kind of response is rare. But when it comes through, it’s very disheartening. Especially during a grueling time of a pandemic when we are supposed to be leaning on one another.

I too care about the environment. I too would rather not be putting them up, only for weather to ruin them. But it’s apart of the search.

I continue to canvass because I won’t give up on him. How do I explain to this person that the most effective way to get a lost dog back is from a flyer?

Almost all the sightings have been because of an 8x10 piece of paper. With a funny picture of my bud and a phone number that connects him to me.

A simple piece of paper can be the difference between getting him back or not.

If anyone sees signs falling down and littering or being taken down. We want to address all scenarios.

Thank you all for not being this person. Thank you for cheering me on through the big dips of the search effort. 💓🐺

Still missing in Golden, CO 💔

For one month straight, we didn't have a single sighting. It was a time that I took to move through acceptance and towards patience I didn't know I could hold.

Then one day, sightings poured in. And kept coming. I connected with my boy once again. I think it has a lot to do with my release of control and ultimately he is getting hungrier.

This marathon is tough as hell. Add the layer of a global pandemic to the mix. I know I'm coming out of this with some extra grit. I know all of us will get through this with extra grit.

As the snow started, I trusted that he has shelter. I trusted that he's taking good measures to stay alive for me.

As they say, it's always darkest before dawn. Looking forward to everyone's dawn. Give your buddies pets for me and extra kisses. 💓🐺

25/03/2020

**Throwing a wide net to verify newest sighting and to get more!!** He has most likely traveled away from newest sighting. Not a search effort, but rather a spread the word effort💓🐺

Hi everyone! We got another sighting in Golden near downtown in the area on the map posted below for two days ago around noon. Does anyone have access to next door that they can post to in this area? We need more sightings and a photo to verify. But based on other sightings we feel it could be him based on the description!

Keep your eyes peeled if you are in that area. There are a lot of people exercising outside which is lovely and helpful. We do ask that people don’t “search” but spread word again. More sightings we get, we get a better idea of his routine!

The sighting in Morrison ended up not being him, but his doppelgänger 😂. That pup was taken in and safe.

Stay safe my friends. 💓

22/03/2020

Today I got a message about a sighting from 2 weeks ago near Coors in Golden by East st and 13th/32nd. No pictures but my gut tells me it’s him. Close to a water source and within a half mile to Safeway, his most recent sighting from Monday.

The kind woman was working hard to coax my boy to her. Had food and water in hand. Until a someone else started whistling and clapping at him. He bolted for 32nd. A busy road full of cars and trucks with little space to walk along side. I believe he is safe from our most recent sighting.

However, this act of clapping and whistling is an example of what not to do when you see a missing dog. You see, they are in full survival mode. Meaning they aren’t what we perceive a domestic dog to be. They see everything that moves as a threat, including people. Any movement untrustworthy can cause a dog to bolt, and sometimes bolt to death.

Without the clapping and whistling from the other person, maybe this kind woman may have gotten my boy to come to her. To hop into her car and within hours, I could have him as we speak.

It’s no one’s fault. I don’t mean to sound resentful. I’ve learned a lot about missing dogs and the psychology behind their behaviors. And not everyone knows until it happens to them.

If you see a lost dog. Sit down, not facing the pup. Don’t make eye contact. Crinkle something in your hands (a bag or chips or wrapper) and make an eating sound.

That is a calming signal. One of the most effective ways to get a lost dog to approach you. Not clapping, not whistling, not calling for the dog. (Even though it’s our instinct to do so)

Today gave me more support in the recent signing at Safeway. I don’t see each day as one more day apart anymore. Rather another day closer to a reunion.

Thank you to the lovely person who reached out. It’s never too late to give information on a dog you have seen unattended. More than likely, that owner is relentlessly searching.

Hope y’all are safe. Thank you again, can’t say it enough. 💓

20/03/2020

Those that live in downtown Golden off Ford or Jackson st- do you mind checking under your decks, sheds, or any space he could be hunkering down in? Might be a stretch but with all of us home, maybe we will get another sighting.

If someone in that area has access to Nextdoor- sending out a post to check their backyards would be so helpful. I live in Denver and can’t reach that area.

If you see him, again, please don’t approach. Take a picture and back away. Call me immediately 951-541-1285. He’s in full fledge survival mode. Any movement can spook him.

Going off hunches and what I would suspect he’s doing right now.

I wish so bad he was home right now. 💓🐺

Thank you all so much. I hope you are safe. Know that any anxiety you are holding in this chaotic time, I’m with you. I feel you. I’m rooting for you.💕

19/03/2020

The world doesn’t seem fair for anyone right now, but I hope this makes you laugh as much as it did for me. Little guy can barely hold the burger up 😭😂

17/03/2020

Wow, yesterday was a whirlwind! We had two sightings in one day. One in Westminster and the other in Golden. The Golden spotting was more definitive and makes more sense in our eyes.

Unfortunately when we arrived at the location in Golden, we could not find him. We were 30 minutes behind. His spotting was at Safeway on Jackson at 3:30 PM March 16th.

Since we don’t have any footage or photos of the Golden spotting, we are going off of two sources. I want to stress the need for photos if anyone sees him. It helps us SO much in determining if the chase is for him, or another dog.

We are not asking anyone to search for him, but rather post to your Nextdoor account again if you are in the downtown Golden area. Keep an eye out for my boy, and keep praying we are getting closer.

Thank you again for your participation and prayers in this search effort. It means the world to me to have so many eyes on the lookout. 💓🐺💓

Thank you too all that volunteered to put a big Bromley missing poster on their front lawn. I appreciate your willingness to help us. I will reach out to those that have homes on bigger traffic streets to catch larger audiences.

Is there anyone else in Golden/Lakewood/Wheatridge that lives on a busy road that would be willing to put a Bromley sign out front? If so, PM me. Since we lost a lot of posters on the main roads, we want to keep at it on busy streets.

Again, thank you. I feel like I say it too much. But you all are amazing people. ❤️

I need to hear the success stories. The moments you didn't think you would find them, and then you did. All the joy you felt when you reunited. Share below, I would love to feel inspired and filled up with more hope

Hi all! We have a new addendum to our game plan.

In addition to Golden we’d like to put up posters around Lakewood and maybe even wheat ridge or west Denver near major corridors (between where he was lost and home). We’d like to do this on private property with decent visibility if possible.

Would anyone be willing to let us put a sign on their property? Or know someone we could ask?

We have large neon signs that stick in the ground. We believe he is still out there or possibly someone has taken him in.

We are making a list and a map with people willing to help. Please PM the page if you know of a good spot, especially in Lakewood!

🐺❤️

Do we have anyone following who lives in or knows someone who lives around this area? If so please text kati 303-919-6090!

I compiled my favorites memories with you, bud. All the tiny, little moments you’ve brought joy into my life. It’s just a summary of the effect you have on me.

This song is called “Patience”. I usually don’t have much, but given the circumstances, I am sort of forced into it.

Where are you? Why haven’t you come home yet?

(Reposted- FB deleted my last post)

If anyone can help please message the page or text Kati 303-919-6090

Happy Saturday everyone.

We are having some issues getting fliers up in populated areas/trails/parks around lookout mountain because Of city and county ordinances.

To overcome this and get the word out to ppl who travel there to hike and bike from outside golden, we need to try to place little fliers on cars around the area and in lots.

Is there anyone that can help with this tomorrow?

29/02/2020

Day whatever missing • I can't keep counting

Day 26 • Still missing in Golden, CO

Thank you to everyone who donated to our supplies fund. I don't think I've ever bought this many colors of duct tape in my life. The money helps us a lot.

I've been quiet for a while. I guess I am going through the motions a bit more as of late. Faith comes and goes. Time moves on and he still isn't here.

Keep praying for more spottings, tips, or anything to give us a better direction.

23/02/2020

Day 21 • Volunteer Meetup

First, thank you to those that we're able to show up today, you covered some serious ground that I couldn't do in one day alone. You also stood there with patience as I ugly cried (lol).

I know many of you are far away or had other obligations. But I felt all of your energy and support while we were out there. Keep praying. It's working.

Something gave today. I've been asking for relief every day. And today I got some. So thank you 💓

Here's a picture of my bud sticking his snoot in the snow. It makes me laugh every time.
