I was thinking back to a road trip we took with Panda last summer and realizing that summer is right around the corner! Here's a picture of Panda exploring the hotel room in Maine.
We had a blast taking him on vacation! Here are some tips to make sure a trip is enjoyable for both you and your pup:

1) **Plan Dog-Friendly Activities**: Research dog-friendly beaches, parks, hiking trails, and attractions at your destination. Make sure your plans include activities that your pup will enjoy too.

2) **Research Pet-Friendly Accommodations**: Look for hotels, vacation rentals, or campsites that welcome pets. Confirm their pet policies and any additional fees beforehand.

3) **Pack Essentials**: Don't forget to pack your dog's essentials such as food, water, bowls, leash, collar with ID tags, p**p bags, medications, and any comfort items like their favorite toy or blanket. We like to bring a large lightweight blanket to throw over the hotel bed, as a courtesy to the hotel, and I'm sure that having a blanket to sleep on, that smells like home, is a comfort for Panda.

4) **Update ID Tags**: Make sure your dog's ID tags have current contact information in case they get lost during your travels.

5) **Secure Travel Arrangements**: Ensure your pup is safe and comfortable during the journey. Use a pet carrier or safety harness in the car.

6) **Plan Breaks**: Plan regular stops to let your dog stretch their legs, go to the bathroom, and have some water. It's essential to keep them comfortable during long trips.

7) **Stick to Routine**: Try to maintain your dog's regular feeding and walking schedule as much as possible to minimize stress.

8) **Watch the Weather**: Be mindful of the weather conditions at your destination, especially if it's hot. Provide plenty of shade and water if you're spending time outdoors. Never leave your dog in a parked car!

9) **Know Local Vets**: Familiarize yourself with nearby veterinary clinics or emergency pet hospitals, just in case your dog needs medical attention while you're away.

10) **Be Patient and Flexible**: Traveling with a pet can sometimes be unpredictable, so stay patient and flexible if things don't go exactly as planned. Your pup will pick up on your energy, so staying calm will help keep them at ease too.

You want your vacation to be enjoyable for everyone, including your furry companion. With a little preparation and some flexibility, you and your dog can create unforgettable memories together on your summer adventures!

Hello, everyone. I thought I would share with you a personal reason why it's so important to me to buy American-made dog products.
Years ago I had another dog, named Wheatley, who was very dear to me. It gave me such joy to give him treats and he especially loved one treat in particular. After feeding him this treat for over a year, I learned that this product, which was manufactured in another country, was toxic! Can you imagine how devastated I felt knowing that I had unwittingly fed my beloved dog toxic treats??? Dogs are family and we want to do everything we can to keep them healthy and buying American-made products is part of what I do.
