šŸ¤Meet GregoryšŸ¤ Greg was just rescued from the streets near the Chapala downtown plaza. This sweet senior boy could barely walk because he was in so much pain. Despite everything he’s been through, he has been nothing but gentle, loving, and grateful.

His X-rays revealed severe spondylosis (advanced arthritis and degeneration of his spine), which explains why he was struggling to walk. They also showed an old hip fracture that healed on its own without medical treatment. We don’t know how it happened, but it’s possible Gregory was struck by a car and was left to recover on his own. On top of that, he has a heart murmur and no teeth, yet he continues to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle heart.

Gregory urgently needs:

* Echocardiogram to evaluate his heart murmur
* Complete blood work and chemistry panel
* Neuter surgery
* Monthly Librela injections for pain relief
* Hyaluronic acid joint injections
* Joint and muscle supplements
* Prescription medications
* Ongoing veterinary care and pain management

Because Gregory has no teeth, he will need a lifelong diet of soft or homemade food to keep him healthy and comfortable.

Gregory’s medical expenses are adding up quickly. If you’d like to help him receive the care he desperately needs, please consider making a donation (links in our bio)

Most of all, Gregory deserves something he’s likely never had—a family to call his own. If you’ve ever considered adopting a senior dog, Gregory is ready to spend his golden years surrounded by love instead of pain. He may be 10–12 years old, but he still has so much life and love to give.

If you’d like to give Gregory the retirement home he deserves, please submit an adoption application at: www.BAPBR.org (link in bio)!

Gregory has spent a lifetime surviving. Now it’s our turn to show him what it feels like to be safe, cherished, and loved. Every donation, every share, and every adoption application brings him one step closer to the happy ending he has waited his entire life for. šŸ™šŸ¶ā¤ļø

Before āž”ļø After šŸ¾ā¤ļø

For the past three years, we’ve repurposed old airline travel crates into dog houses for our large breed foster dogs at ā€œDiego’s Denā€. They provided shelter through every season and kept countless dogs safe while they waited for their forever families.

After years of constant use, they had finally reached the end of their life. Cracked, broken, and falling apart, it was time to replace them.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our MexiMutt adopters, Steve & Lindsay, we were able to purchase brand-new dog houses for our rescue dogs. Their gift has provided safe, durable, and weather-resistant shelters that will serve hundreds of dogs in the years ahead.

Steve & Lindsay, thank you for continuing to support and believe in our mission and for investing in the comfort and well-being of the dogs we rescue. Your compassion and generosity makes a lasting difference every single day.

We are so grateful for your support. ā¤ļøšŸ¾

šŸ¤ADOPT CHINAšŸ¤

Some dogs are meant for adventure.

China is meant for your heart.

Estimated to be 8–10 years old and weighing just 16 pounds, this sweet little Poodle mix has left her days as a street dog behind and is ready to spend her golden years exactly where she belongs—curled up beside someone who loves her.

China is the easiest dog you’ll ever meet. She rarely barks, loves peaceful afternoons, sunny naps, and simply being near her person. She doesn’t need excitement to be happy... just kindness, a cozy bed, and someone to call family.

Recently, China received a full medical workup, a dental procedure that relieved years of painful dental disease, and has started treatment for dry eye. She also has cataracts, but they don’t stop her from enjoying life. She’s currently being evaluated by a cardiologist on July 15th to learn more about a possible age-related heart change that’s common in senior dogs.

She may be a senior, but that doesn’t make her any less deserving of love.

In fact, we think it makes her even more deserving.

After surviving life on the streets, China has earned the chance to spend the rest of her life knowing what it feels like to be safe, cherished, and someone’s whole world.

If your heart has room for a quiet, loyal companion, China is waiting.

Read more about China and apply to adopt her at: www.BAPBR.org (link in bio).

🐾 Meet Sophia! 🐾

At just 10 months old, Sophia has already spent more than 8 months in foster care, patiently waiting for a family to call her own. šŸ’” We know her perfect match is out there!

Born August 20, 2025, Sophia is a 10-pound Chihuahua mix with the happiest, most fun-loving personality.

šŸŽ¾ Toy obsessed? Absolutely.
šŸ„Ž Fetch is her favorite game.
🦓 Bully sticks are a must.
šŸ’¦ She loves splashing and playing in the water.
šŸ›ļø And at the end of the day, nothing makes her happier than snuggling in bed with her favorite person.

Sophia is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate. She’s confident, independent, and well-adjusted, yet she loves to cuddle and be close to her people. She enjoys playing with other dogs but would also thrive as the center of your world as an only dog. And don’t even get us started on her adorable little underbite—it melts hearts everywhere she goes. 🄹

Sophia has been waiting far too long for someone to see just how special she is. Could that someone be you? ā¤ļø

Almost 3 years… and still no one has chosen him. šŸ’”

Vito has been waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting…

While other dogs come and go, find homes, get their happy endings…
Vito stays behind.

Not because he’s done anything wrong.
Not because he isn’t a good dog.

But because people see his breed…
and they decide who he is before ever meeting him.

They see ā€œPit Bull / Rottweilerā€ā€¦
and they walk away.

They never see him.

They never see the gentle soul who is kind to every living thing.
The dog who can be trusted completely alone in the house.
The one who is patient with kids… soft with cats… playful when invited… calm when it matters.

His foster says it best: ā€œHe’s the perfect dog.ā€

And still… no one chooses him.

For almost 3 years, Vito has quietly been everything anyone could ever want in a dog… hoping that one day, someone will look past the label and finally see his heart.

He doesn’t need training.
He doesn’t need fixing.
He doesn’t need a ā€œchance.ā€

He just needs someone to see him.

Because the truth is…
whoever adopts Vito isn’t saving him.

They’re getting the best dog of their life!!!

Please… help us share Vito.
His family is out there somewhere.

He’s just been waiting far too long. šŸ¾šŸ’”

Thank you to everyone who showed up for Julia and KiKi šŸ–¤

Because of you, Julia had her recheck and is healing well from her Demodex diagnosis and KiKi was able to get the eye removal surgery she needed.

And as always, the need never stops. This week we found another dog on the street, Malva, suffering from severe flea allergies. The donations that came in are already helping us get her the care she needs.

Marvin, who came to us with a hip fracture, also had his recheck and he is healing with steady progress.

We are so grateful for every single one of you. You are the reason we can keep saying yes when dogs need us most šŸ™

First, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who donated toward Julia’s care. ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ¶ Because of you, we are able to continue saying ā€œyesā€ to dogs who need us most.

And then… yesterday happened.

A volunteer’s daughter brought home this tiny puppy from a classmates house with a severely injured eye. We don’t know exactly what happened or how long she had been suffering, but she smelled strongly of infection and was in terrible condition.

We rushed her to the vet immediately. Unfortunately, her eye could not be saved and had to be removed due to the severity of the infection. We named her KiKi. At the same time, we also rescued two adult dogs from the same home—both extremely skinny and covered in fleas. So in just 48 hours… we have taken in 4 new dogs.

This is the reality we face every day. The suffering never stops. The need never ends.

And we will always show up… but we can’t do it without YOU!

If you feel called to help, and want to throw a few more bones KiKi’s way, we would be so grateful.

But the most powerful way to help us is by becoming a monthly recurring donor.

Why? Because recurring donations allow us to:
• Say ā€œyesā€ immediately in emergencies like this and not have to get on social media and beg for money again and again.
• Cover ongoing vet care, medications, and food
• Plan ahead instead of constantly reacting to crisis
It gives us stability in a world that is completely unpredictable.

If you can’t donate, please share—because that helps more than you know.

Thank you for standing with us.

Thank you for helping us keep going. šŸ–¤
