Wolly and Zolly were castrated earlier this week.

It's recommended to wait to castrate goats until they are at least 5 or 6 months old to allow their urethra to develop, which may help decrease the chances of urinary blockage later on in their lives.

Marshall had an accident today and managed to rip his horn 3/4 of the way off.

After some sedation and surgery he's now a unicorn 🦄

F***l exams are crucial for determining internal parasites and should be done as part of a maintenance program, not only when there is a noted problem.

All animals benefit from f***l exams, including (but not limited to) horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, pigs, cows, chickens, and other fowl.

Some common signs of internal parasites include:
-weight loss
-diarrhea
-pale famancha or mucus membranes (anemia)
-dull, or rough coat
-failure to thrive

Phoenix Equine is based out of Farmingdale NJ. Serving Ocean, Monmouth, and surrounding counties.

*This special is for the f***l exam only. Positive f***ls that need to be treated will get a treatment plan. However, some treatments may require a visit in order to prescribe medication.*
