When I first bought this pony gelding with his long flowing mane, I thought he looked a bit like a lion. Then as I got to thinking about what to name him, I remembered the name Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia. I loved naming him after this great lion, not only for his similar mane, but also because of how lions represent COURAGE. I prayed that this horse would walk through life with courage, and that I would have courage in my own walk in life. I am truly thankful for what God has taught me through this horse in regards to facing your fears with courage.

it’s so fascinating watching people always be drawn towards the stable and horses. horses demonstrate so much of God’s love to people, often times more than people show to others. they create a place where people feel safe and loved. may we learn from this incredible creature 🤍

In the season of reflecting on the birth of Jesus being one of the greatest gifts of all, I cant help but see how gracious and loving God is to us over and over again in so many ways. I could talk for days on how God has shown me his love, forgiveness, comfort, provision, and grace through just this horse alone. God knew this bay gelding was one I needed in my life. 🤍

She mostly slept in the recliner and never talked. But she talked to this one.

He was spending his last days in a hospital bed. Then he petted this one as he smiled from ear to ear.

She was living in a nursing home and missing the familiar of life. But she got to meet this one and recall her childhood.

She had a disability that trapped her in a wheelchair. But she had the ability to lead this one.

She was dealing with the loss of a loved one. But this one showed her comfort.

She was scared of the future. But this one gave her confidence.

This one. 🐴 This very little one is making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Northwoods Wisconsin friends…this is the strangest thing…you can give your horse a bath in December in KY and not have to blow dry them or spend the next 18 hours switching coolers out on them and praying that your dryer keeps working lol

I’m so thankful for my folks who have supported Nehemiah and me from the beginning! They would spend hours on end at the barn with me so I could spend time with him as a little girl. They encouraged me to buy him. They let me move him into their backyard for years and were always the best horse sitters when I was away at work, college, etc. They cared for “Ne Ne” like he is their own.

Mom and Dad, thank you for being there for Ne and me and for coming across the country to the to cheer us on in my dream and prayer come true!

~ when dreams become reality, they still feel like dreams ~

This weekend I had the opportunity to compete at the put on by the at the !

Nehemiah and I competed in the Ba****ck and Bridleless Distinguished class, and Henry and I competed in the Liberty Intermediate class.

I am so thankful for all that I learned through this process of all of us competing for the first time! It was wild and beautiful! I’m so proud of these horses and how much they focused on my cues and all the try they gave me!

A huge thank you to:
- Dan and Elizabeth James for encouraging and empowering me to compete and for making this opportunity possible!
- the ILHA and DDH teams for putting this event on
- my parents for coming and cheering me on
- my friend for helping me breathe, get ready, and for taking so many photos and videos
- and all the people behind the scenes at the festival
- God for putting this passion in me and surrounding me with horses and people and environments that encourage me

Without Love or Faith what do we have? Think about it even with your horsemanship... without loving them is all this work really worth it? Without having faith in your abilities or your horse's then you develop fear and you wouldn't want to ride. Don't let that happen to your relationship with your horse and for sure do not let it happen with your relationship to Christ.
