Young birds may be trying to spread their wings. Have you found a baby bird and you’re wondering what to do? Sometimes baby birds fall out of nests and may or may not need help. If a bird has fallen out of a nest uninjured and it’s featherless, it is okay to return the bird to the nest. If the bird has feathers, it may be learning to fly and does not need to be returned.
If you find wildlife that is truly injured, turn it over to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator within 24 hours to maximize chances of survival: https://bit.ly/3bSqcc6.
