Ricky was my first client to try the new Versa shoes by EasyCare Inc. The Ultimate in Hoof Protection; Ricky was previously barefoot, but was a little footsore going on rocky trails. A little over a week later he continues to do great according to his owner, "He has a lot more energy on the trail since the shoeing, cantering more easily and more powerfully" Thanks to Bobby At Canoga Farrier and Canoga Farrier Supply for the recommendation!

Yay Bob!

Thank you, Bob Barker, for saving the burros. We need more heroes like you!

"I grew up on an Indian reservation in South Dakota, and saw animals of all kinds," said Barker. "I never met a donkey I didn't like."

Met a great new client today at Los Angeles Equestrian Center, who was kind enough to take some pictures...aluminum shoes help this horse with ringbone stay happy and sound.

One of the best perks of the job is getting to know my clients and their dogs. Having coffee with Cooper and Ryder; great way to start the day!

22/08/2018

My last client of the day, “Betty Boop”, just about decided to get in the truck with me as I was leaving...

04/07/2018

Who was that masked man?

12/05/2018

Had a new one happen today: was working on a couple of horses in Burbank’s Rancho neighborhood and apparently a TV show was filming across the street. Had to move my truck because it was in the shot and I could only hammer on the anvil between takes. Luckily the production crew were super cool and gracious. Fun times in La La land. 😎

Scarlet likes to visit the nice folks at Canoga Farrier Supply!

Clay Campbell brought Scarlet by the shop today to do some shopping.

This client had a case of white line which caused the hoof wall to separate and crack...the foot had dried out so we were able to cut away the damaged wall, clean it, then build it back. This super sweet horse was sound and walking great afterwards...

09/02/2018

This client was recently diagnosed with navicular syndrome and had been displaying mild lameness. Today he was shod in an aluminum shoe with a wedge pad, low rails, and frog insert; he seems to appreciate the setup and is currently sound. If his needs change, we’ll be able to adjust the rail height to best suit his comfort.

27/01/2018

On call today at the LA Winter Dressage show!

31/12/2017
