The first Animal Protection Meet in Punjab aims to unite the state’s animal protection organizations and compassionate individuals, fostering a collective effort towards the welfare and rights of animals in Punjab.
It was an honor to showcase the operations of the dog sterilization unit at Chandigarh's Animal Birth Control unit, a state-of-the-art facility established by the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh. The initiative taken by MC Chandigarh serves as an exemplary model for other cities and states to emulate.
We were privileged to have esteemed individuals from the field of animal welfare visit the ABC unit. Animal Aid Unlimited

Mr. and Mrs. Singh have chosen to celebrate their anniversary by spending time with the furrykids we have rescued.
One of the kid named Star, is paralyzed and currently staying at our shelter. Mr. Singh found Star outside the hospital where he works and took it upon himself to rescue her.
He made a tremendous effort to take Star to the vet, ensuring that she received all necessary checkups and treatments before bringing her to our shelter. It is quite rare for individuals to follow up on the rescues they bring to us, but Mr. Singh has gone above and beyond by taking equal responsibility for Star's well-being. He has consistently sent her medications and kept in touch with us to ensure she is doing well.
We would like to extend our warmest wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Singh on their wedding anniversary. May they continue to lead a happy and fulfilling life together, always filled with joy and love.

Why do we ask for donations ?
Because it is nearly possible for a single individual to take care of so many animals as it takes it's toll emotionally as well as financially. Rent, electricity, veterinary bills, food bills , medicines, salaries and sometimes heartaches and sadness and the list goes on. It’s everyone's responsibility to help the one who needs us irrespective of the species , color , shape or caste in whatever way we can.
Several years back I came across several incidents and felt the pain and sufferings of the street animals and their helplessness after which I decided to focus on what “they need” instead of what “I want” and devote my remaining time towards their well being.
Just for a single moment if you can think about helping someone else, the peace and happiness you earn is priceless. The feeling of selflessness and satisfaction of doing something for someone in need is the best feeling ever. Trust me sometimes it doesn't have to cost you anything to do good for just one being (human/animal/environment). It even might be less than your dinner date.

Update on Lulu and Zulu
Both Lulu and Zulu are progressing well and showing signs of improvement with each passing day. Initially, we had concerns about Zulu's health due to a severe tick fever and a troublesome wound, which affected his appetite. However, we are delighted to share that both Lulu and Zulu are now thriving, content, and in good health.

Available for adoption!!!
Name: Jeevan
Gender: Female
Age: 3 years old
Weight: 21lbs
Breed: Indian Pariah
Spayed: YES
Microchipped: YES
Vaccinated: YES
Fostered in: Oshawa, ON.
Rescue: cawa.nurturingthebond
Jeevan is looking for her forever home. She was initially rescued in 2020 from Punjab, India.
Here is her back story.
Jeevan entered into someone's home to play with their resident dog. The homeowner did not like this and instead of nicely removing her from the home, he decided to shoot her. She was shot in the back which caused her to become paralyzed in her hind end. Understandably she was very scared of people when she first arrived but after lots of time and love she is a whole new dog. Jeevan is silly, affectionate, calm and independent. She spends her days relaxing in her bed, enjoying two toys, and hanging out in the yard. She does have a cart but she is still getting used to it. She loves scooting around in the backyard and playing with the other dogs in the home. Jeevan does need to have her bladder and bowels expressed three times a day but she is a very good girl for this. This might seem like an intimidating task for someone who hasn't done it before, but it's actually quite simple and you would have the full support of her foster parents to help you through this learning transition. Jeevan does well when left alone and doesn't get into anything she shouldn't. She doesn't have any separation, anxiety or guarding behavior. She sleeps through the night on a dog bed in her foster parents bedroom. Jeevan can be shy when meeting new people but quickly warms up. She is good with larger dogs. She has not been cat-tested. She would be fine with children 8+. She is looking for a home with a family who will be patient with her while she settles in. A home with little to no stairs is preferred or someone who can carry her up and down the stairs. If you are interested in adopting Jeevan, please complete an adoption application on the link below.

A few weeks ago, we stumbled upon a pitbull mother dog tied up on the side of the road during a scorching afternoon. Her two young puppies were dehydrated and in dire need of care. It's unfathomable how someone could be so heartless as to abandon a mother and her offspring in a desolate location, where they couldn't even fend for themselves and find sustenance.
We were able to find a temporary foster home for them, but unfortunately now they have refused to take care of them further. Sadly no one has come forward to adopt them yet. As a result, they are still in our care and available for adoption. We urge anyone who is interested in providing a loving home for these precious animals to contact us as soon as possible.

A big round of applause to our team manager @Lionel for rescuing the dog from the manhole who was stuck from last three days !!
Vaccinate , Educate and Eliminate #RabiesFreeIndia #ZeroBy30 If you wish to volunteer with us , Kindly DM @missionrabies @wvscharity
#HumaneCatchingofRabiesCase A resounding applause is due to our esteemed Rabies Control team. The government recently reported a suspected case of rabies in a dog within the panchayat area. This dog had unfortunately bitten several other dogs and individuals in the vicinity, displaying clear symptoms of the disease. Despite the heavy rain, our dedicated team fearlessly embarked on a search mission that lasted for hours. Eventually, they successfully apprehended the infected dog and safely transported it to an isolation kennel. But our work did not end there. The team diligently proceeded to vaccinate all the dogs in the surrounding area, employing a technique known as ring vaccination. Additionally, they took the time to educate the local community about the importance of vaccination and the dangers of rabies. We commend our Rabies Control team for their unwavering commitment, even in adverse weather conditions. Their efforts have undoubtedly safeguarded the well-being of both animals and humans alike. #RabiesControl #MissionRabies #RabiesFreeIndia
Poha
Poha says thank you to everyone who donated for her surgery. She is with her foster mom and in recovery. She will be going on for a follow up in 7-10 days. We will keep you all posted with more updates.
Community dog caretakers are key stakeholders and important part of a dog population management program. #SpayNeuterSaveLives #DogPopulationManagement
And here we are at the end of 2022 after a wonderful voyage during which we developed and learned every day. More than 6,000 dogs were sterilised in the combined ABC units, an adventurous spay/neuter camp was set up in the hills, a small but a dedicated shelter for dogs with special needs was established, our three special needs children were adopted, and eight veterinarians and six paravets were trained in collaboration with WVS at our Animal Birth Control centre in Ambala during their taskforce programme. We are quite excited about the next adventures and lessons. cawa.nurturingthebond
Dilip Kumar needs virtual parents and more love ♥️ Again we just couldn’t say “No” to this dancing boy who is now a new addition in our shelter. He was disowned by his previous owners because of the genetical disease known as cerebellar hypoplasia. A condition characterised by the inadequate development of the cerebellum. Since the cerebellum is responsible for fine-tuning motor movements, affected dog will be unable to move or even stand still normally. You can sponsor his monthly supportive treatment , diet or send him some enrichment toys. You can also visit him and spend some time with him as he loves human attention and care. 🧸 Our organisation already has pending Vet bills , food bills , medicine bills , shelter rent and salaries and the list goes on. Please consider donating to our rescue and If you have already donated , we and our kids are eternally grateful. If you're not able to donate, even one share can make all the difference. *All donations are exempted from Income tax u/s 80G. Please reach out to get your recipet and certificates*
