It has been a hard few months for so many people and businesses, yet we remain positive that the world will bounce back from COVID-19. When we do, we’ll need to be stronger than before. The Bluetails Pet Rescue is no different. That's why we are participating in , a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
Nearly 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized each year in the United States.
These incredibly high numbers are one of the results of unplanned litters that could have been prevented by spaying and neutering. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, local city and county shelters are unable to provide these sterilizations and other low-cost facilities are also temporarily shut down. This leaves our rescue group with unexpected and exorbitant medical bills for these necessary surgeries for our rescues.
