Second ride today, couple of attempted rears but he was having fun and it was playful not aggression. Have to keep the leg off him when he's stood or he thinks we are off lol. Gently gently and learning as he goes. So proud of him.

March 1st, I haven't posted for a while because we have been very busy. However: Beau is now out with the boys after gelding him the second week in February we are so pleased with his progress.
He still has mild stallion tendancies but that's to be expected. They are doing well and we know who the boss is.

The babies arrived Tuesday evening and settled straight away.

So the new babies arrive, good as gold the first night, second day...well not quite so good!
We have figured buddy is smarter than the average bear! He watched how I climbed through the fence in and out and where I did it.
So bedding down in their stables and Beau started calling so I went out and their was buddy stood in front of his corral closely followed by Bee.
Oh no! So we spent hours going up and down the almond groves, me, my hubby and 3 of our friend usual thing, you can get to them...the minute you try to grab the halter....vroom gone. After 2 hours and my legs were about to fall off I was breathing like a whale coming to the surface and having a blow, my hubby, Paul and Chris thinking the were John Wayne and my friend Lucy stood with her hands on her head saying the little sods, they calmly walked back in to their field and started eating hay as if nothing had happened!
We practically crawled back to the field and they came for a fuss and a stroke and wanted some loving....seriously you gave us the run around and now want loves....yes they got it and carrots too. And it doesn't end there.
Now these babies have had little human contact, not handled as the lady got them fed them but up until recently they had never worn a halter. Where she lives unfortunately don't look after their animals (not everyone) the sanctuarys are full and she took in the horses people abandoned and left basically to starve to death. No help, in her late 60s with at one time over a hundred dogs she thankfully rehomed, 6 donkeys and 12 horses so the beautiful soul was exhausted and didn't have the time to handle them all. But they had shelter hay and water. So that tells you how hard these horses are to catch lol.
They have been in a shelter in the field but not a stable and after being in a horse box Tuesday were not liking the idea of going in a stable in case it moved! They were not impressed by the 3 and a half hour journey to their new home.
The more handleable one buddy, we thought ah cool he's the calm one let's get him in first....wrong!!! Two hours of patient coaxing 3 bags of carrots and lots of love, rearing sessions, trying to drag me off down the paddock and just blatantly saying no if I will it's on my terms, my hubby gets feed buckets....to which buddy isn't hungry after tons of carrots, and the baby who you cannot get near....at all....follows him in straight in the stable and sets about his feed! What!!!! Happy as a pig in p**p 💩!!!
Buddy then decides hmm my brothers in there maybe it's not so bad and stand another hour in the door way, lead rope slack me just chillin at the back of the stable and in he comes as if there was nothing to it.
By this time, not only had my legs taken on a life of their own...the almond tree ground is very soft but rocky soil, my arms felt like they had a new meaning in life and belonged to someone else as I couldn't feel them lol.
But they were in! So after the almond tree Olympics, losing the will to live, got Beau finally fed after he had to wait and was most displeased, he hates waiting and let's you know. After the morning of grooming, he looked sexy as he does he knew it was rugging time, so proceeded to roll in the pile of p**p 💩 he did stressing out because the others were out, covered his shiny grey coat in 💩 as he is a sh****ng machine, before I got chance to rug him!!! So now looks like a warthog!
In the house, Pizza on because I'm starving and its quick, fed the hubby turned around and the dogs had nicked my tea!!! I give up!!! Hot shower watch TV eat doritos because the dogs don't like them and bed....never slept so well in years!!!! Hope you guys had a good day yesterday lol 😆 😘 😄 💕 merry bloody Christmas lol 😆 😄

Kevin sorting the stabpe extension. Knocked 2 small stables into 1 huge one and the other 2 pens are big too, one is cleared, the other is to be cleared, then a face lift and the stables are ready.
I still think I am going to wake up and all this has been a dream but its not. 😍

Recent studies conducted by the Institute of Heart-Math provide a clue to explain the two-way ′′ healing ′′ that occurs when we're close to horses.
