We sure do miss Leonidas at the farm. So looking forward to getting him home and dancing with him over the rest of summer! He’s been learning lots at Anchor Equestrian and on his best behaviour so I’ve been told. Even trail riding with mares and novices.

My girl Perseides - an off-the-track JC registered thoroughbred out of Exhi who wasn’t fast enough to race. I got her from Woodbine and she was a total mess - training made her neurotic and damaged her soul.

She came to PEI and found love and patience and the space to be a horse. She’s taught me a lot and our relationship has evolved into something akin to a mutual understanding. They are right when they say the thoroughbred is just a different animal altogether. A heart the size of my house. And she is just a wonderful momma.

Sadi delivered a beautiful buckskin c**t this evening and he is just perfect 🤩. Bigger than TC (if that is even possible), he is very strong.

Will be a long night for me but I can finally FINALLY breathe a sigh of relief. Many of you know Sadi developed placentitis at around day 320 and it has been a long and stressful 26 days. But thanks to my amazing vet Island Veterinary Services we caught it early and treated her perfectly.

He is so beautiful. I can’t even.

🦄 We are expecting a pony foal from our welsh B mare any day - a full brother to Sparky ⚡️

🦄 We are welcoming a new flashy little blonde to our pony herd (name TBD)

Yep. That’s a 14.3+hh 10 month old 🤦‍♀️🤪.

Mr TC going super well on the halter for walks around the VERY SCARY yard. Meeting chickens. Baby cows. Tractor buckets. Piles of dirt. And, most importantly, the trailer.

Such a sweet dude. Making it easy almost. Can’t wait to meet his sister (I’m manifesting hard) in three’ish months!

We are very excited to announce that Topp Class has found his new person 🥰! He will be heading to Nova Scotia in a few months to the most amazing home.

TC is our first home-bred foal. He’s a very special boy for so many reasons, and so finding the most perfect home was extremely important. The stars aligned and he found it 🥰 with Katelynn. We are so thrilled for them both and look forward to watching him mature and grow (and grow, and grow!! 🙃).

Coming into the 3rd (already?!?) month of 2024 I realized I haven’t made a post since last summer.

I started this page to share our farm comings-and-goings with our family and friends and build our dream - well, originally my dream I suppose. Everyone who knew better told me that this business of horse breeding was tough. Not for the faint of heart. Frought with so much joy but also at times, so much pain.

Last summer we felt all of it. Last summer we sadly lost our beautiful boy Sparky ⚡️

It was so devastating, I had a hard time seeing the forest through the trees for awhile. It was a blow to our entire family. We buried him under an oak sapling overlooking the new arena. That way he can watch our girls grow, and he’ll run beside them every step of the way 🐎

I’ve gone over the accident so many times but we can’t bend time. These things happen despite our best efforts, and farming can be heartbreaking. My mistake was loving that foal too hard. We all did 💔 .

Since then we’ve welcomed another c**t (Riptide), and are expecting our first 2024 foal, a full brother to Sparky, in May.

We’ve also expanded our herd to welcome beautiful Princess Poppy (Welsh cross mare).

So in closing, may our future be bright and may we never forget how precious life (of all makes and models) is.
