Extremely rare Eugenia hirta produced flowers one year from seed. I am not sure if anyone has flowered and fruited this in the US before? The leaves are tiny, with a small amount of fuzz on them, and that’s one of the best looking fruit trees.

Probably just me, but these Red X jaboticaba fruits looks pretty damn big 🙂 The fruit size is all over the place, but more are ending up that big than smaller!

Blackberry cultivar Prime Ark are not only huge but they are prolific and do very well in Southern California. They are a little better flavor when it’s super hot but even when they’re not there better than the average blackberry
This is the funky flower you induce whenever you cut a banana pup down before it’s able to produce it’s true flower. It looks remarkably different than the original flower it would have produced. I contemplated for a second thay this may be a previous blooming pup we cut down but no it’s one we didn’t have room for cut it down and forgot to get rid of it completely. I might be completely wrong because we’ve never like this happen before but that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it 🤣

I forget what this mushroom is called but we just found it on our farm and it looks pretty incredible.
Even the farmers market in Hilo Hawaii, which is notoriously “sponsored” by stores like Costco and places like that, (where many vendors buy their stuff instead of actually growing the produce themselves) is hopping on the jaboticaba bandwagon. I do not know how I feel about this.

All of Eugenia calycina are going crazy. This smaller one too.
I know tons of people have flowering jaboticaba‘s, but I still think it’s cool that in Southern California where the yard gets beat up with both cold and hot and so little rain and such harsh conditions this one is flowering like I have never seen before. It’s only its second year flowering and omg I can only imagine what future years will hold.

Annona scleroderma evaded me for a while. The one plant I purchased on eBay was a lie and just ended up being a junk tree. Finally found seeds from a reliable vendor. The seeds were planted January 21 and are germinating pretty quickly. This is awesome! 6 of 8 so far.

I grew this Grimal jaboticaba out from seed and finally, a decade later, I finally get to taste. And it’s not a shy bloomer, we see hundreds of blooms on then very first year it’s flowering!
I adore . She tolerated me pointing out too many plants on our walk today ;)
