Let's talk about "Spraying" (and the cutest cat you're missing out on) - it's the biggest "NO" to most adopters and often an assumed normal cat behavior by people who have had horror stories. We almost NEVER see it with our rescue cats, particularly once they're spayed/neutered and indoor-only, with no competition for the finer things in life. But occasionally a neutered (or spayed! Yes females can too) cat still does it - in this case it is super infrequent, tiny little dots about twice a month, with no smell. We are looking for an adopter that understands it doesn't have to mean a house covered in stinky messes, and who has a quiet home without other pets or young kids.
We have had Thorin, a 6.5 yr old Neutered male snuggle bug, in our care for quite a while now and it seems that he may always have the tiniest, almost unnoticeable, bad habit due to a previous indoor/outdoor lifestyle where he picked up the behavior and/or because of minor anxiety. We think his snuggles make up for it 1000%, and in a home without other cats, other cat smells, and with all the attention on him, he may not do it at all. He has been doing fabulous in his own room away from the other rescue cats, but he's bored and ready to move on to a home all his own! He loves cardboard scratchers and catnip, and watching out the windows, but mainly loves to sleep and be cozy. He's a big boy so he would benefit from a cat savvy adopter. We'd love to chat with you if you could provide a great home for him! He makes a wonderful companion, and doesn't mind spending the day by himself while you're at work.
