Welcome to Willow Haven Animal Sanctuary and The Rescue at Willow Haven, Inc! We are a 501c3 non profit, foster home based animal rescue and sanctuary. The love, trust, loyalty, and support animals have to give is indescribable! We have made it our mission to save as many animals as we can. We take in abused, neglected, forgotten, sick, and elderly dogs and cats. For some animals we are their fore

ver home but for most we are just a stepping stone to their futures. Our incredible team of fosters and volunteers help change these animals lives forever! Some foster homes are the final home in a hospice case or they serve as a loving, temporary home while we find their new home. They teach manners, socialization, and LOVE! The Willow Haven family is changing lives for so many animals!

🐾 Meeko has been adopted! This sweet boy came to us from a local shelter. They asked us to help because he was absolutely terrified and difficult to handle. His foster parents have worked their magic on dogs like him many times before so we knew we could help him! He spent almost two months with them building his confidence and learning all about the amazing house life. He excelled!! He now gets a mommy, a daddy, a doggy brother, and three kitty siblings (two of which are special needs). He’s in amazing hands, his mommy just retired from working a long career at a vet clinic!

Hi there! My name is Bailey! I am a Labrador Retriever mix, born on 04/06/2019, and weighing in at 74lbs. I am a biggo love!

I love to play with other dogs and my toys! My stuffy toys that make noise are the best. I share my toys with other doggies too, I like to share! I would love a big fenced in yard so I can run and play with my new family in! But if no yard I can use a lead line too, I’ve been trained with one before. I’m pretty perfect! Oh and kids! They are the best and I love them so much. Just be forewarned I love to snuggle and sometimes forget my size but I never do anything to harm a hooman. I have been around cats before and honestly they are really scary, I just leave them alone.

I am potty trained and crate trained. I get very excited when I go on walks and do pull in the beginning but settle down as the walk goes on. I just love to smell everything. So a little extra training and I’ll be a master at taking walks. I know several commands like sit, lay down, ya know the basics. I love to go for car rides, I’m really good at just looking out the windows and behaving.

🐾 Everyone please welcome Princess Peach to Willow Haven! This beautiful little girl, named by her new little hooman nephew, came to us from another rescue that asked for help. She was taken to a shelter and absolutely shut down due to extreme fear. The amazing rescue took her in as a foster to help get her feeling better. They did an amazing job helping heal her little broken soul and now we get to continue her training and find her the bestest home! She is very timid at first, but within an hour or so she becomes more brave, then she’s your BFF. She is a Terrier mix, about 1 year old, and weighs in at about 25lbs. She gets along well with other doggies, she does chase kitties but we are working on that. She will be available for adoption soon! 🐾

🐾 Amos has been adopted! This sweet boy came to us after his elderly mommy couldn’t care for him anymore. He’s such a sweet little boy, absolutely loves all people. He learned how to play with other doggies in his foster home and learned to like cats too. He gets a new mommy, daddy, and Pug sister too! His sister was so excited to have a new BFF! Endless love and adventures and trips to the cabin up north!

Moon is available for adoption!!

Hi there! My name is Moon. I am a Chihuahua mix, born in 09/29/2024, and weighing in at 4lbs.

I am such a sweet little girl. I absolutely love dogs and cats, I love playing with them and then when we are tired snuggling into their fur and I go right to sleep. I will need another small dog in my new home. I’m super independent from my foster mommy. I like to snuggle with her when I’m really, really sleepy but I like to trick her when I play. I run up to her, make her think I want to be picked up, and then run away at the last second. I’m silly!

🐾 Mater has been adopted! This cutie patootie came to us from a local shelter, he was surrendered when his family moved and couldn’t take him with them. He was so scared at the shelter but absolutely blossomed once he was in his foster home! Such a sweet, happy boy who seriously loves everyone instantly, especially kids and other animals. He gets a mommy, a daddy, a doggie brother, adult human siblings, and his very own human baby (his new human sister just had a baby)!! He’s a happy boy!

🐾 Buddah has been adopted! This handsome little guy came to us after his elderly owner could no longer take care of him. He is such a sweet, happy, hyper boy! He is always down to play with his toys, humans, and other dogs! He gets a mommy who is really close to her parents and brother so lots of people to spend time with! Oh and two biggo doggie siblings too!

🐾 Hazel has been adopted! This sweet girl came to us after she was taken from unsafe living conditions. She was very fearful and needed lots of love and support. Her foster family nursed her back to health physically and mentally! We completed all of her vetting and began the search for her new forever. She gets a mommy, a daddy, and three kitty siblings! Her new family has experience working with traumatized animals and fell in love instantly! She gets a beautiful new home and a biggo fenced yard to garden with mommy in and to play all she wants!

🐾 Everyone please welcome Pandora to Willow Haven! This sweet little girl joined us over last weekend. She’s a terrier mix, 1 year old, and weighing in at 13lbs. She’s the sweetest girl who loves to play and snuggle. She is great with all humans including kiddos! She has a knee injury we are nursing along. She will go in for more testing soon if it doesn’t get better. She is fully vetted, just have to get this knee to heal so sweet girl can live her best life! Stay tuned for this cutie! 🐾

🐾 Everyone please welcome Star to Willow Haven! This sweet little 5 month old girl came to us after being found as a stray. She’s a terrier mix and weighs in at 15lbs. She is recovering from mange, so her skin is itchy and flaky, but with medications and medicated baths her hair is growing in. She will have a gorgeous black coat in no time! She is great with all people including kiddos. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs and she loves to snuggle!! She needs to finish her vetting and then she will be available for adoption! Lucky is available for adoption!

Hi there! My name is Lucky. I am a 10 year old Maltese mix weighing 10lbs. I was surrendered to a local shelter when my owners didn’t want me anymore.

I was in rough shape when I was given to the shelter. I had severe matting and was infested with fleas. Luckily the shelter took great care of me! When I was under anesthesia for my neuter surgery the staff shaved me down to get all the mats off me. Unfortunately I had large wounds from my skin ripping due to the mats. With time and medical care all sores and scabs have healed and fallen off! And man does it feel better with them gone! I have the softest, prettiest hair growing in too!

I am a silly, sassy boy. When I first meet people I can be grumbly talking to them. I do growl a little too but once I get comfortable with new people I stop that within a few days. I don’t play with other dogs or toys I would rather just snuggle with my hooman and a comfy blanket. I can live with cats and/or dogs as long as they are calmer and respectful of my space. I am looking for a quiet home to relax in and have a human lap to keep warm. Please no kiddos for me though.

I love to be outside. I just wander around sniffing all the smells so a fenced in yard or an active walker would be good for me. I am nervous on a leash but I know I’ll figure it out with a little training. My foster mommy keeps me in sweaters since my hair is still growing in, so I hope my new home has cute outfits I can wear. Oh and I will require regular grooming so make sure I never have skin issues and mats ever again.

🐾 June has been adopted! This sweet baby came to us after having a rough life at no fault of her own. Just another pittie born when there’s thousands of pitties homeless right now. She is the true definition of the love a pitbull has! She’s so sweet, loyal, gentle, kind, and loves absolutely every person and every animal she meets! Her foster parents fell so in love they have FOSTER FAILED!! Junie gets to live with them forever! She joined a mommy, a daddy, and two doggie brothers! She loves playing and snuggling. And once the weather gets warmer she will get to go on hikes and endless adventures, her foster parents are super active and nature lovers! We cannot wait to see her updates!

♥️🐾♥️🐾♥️🐾 Foster update ♥️🐾♥️🐾♥️🐾

Princess came to us on November 3rd after her hooman dad passed away, all of his dogs were surrendered to rescues. She’s a senior and medically in rough shape. She is in congested heart failure, has a hernia, has a huge mammary tumor, and has dental disease. Unfortunately with her age and health condition she won’t handle the surgeries well. We have her heart regulated with daily medications and she’s doing amazing since we started them. We did bloodwork so we have a baseline going forward. She even plays and runs around now, when before she didn’t feel well enough to do it. She is not in pain with the hernia and mammary tumor so we have decided that Princess will be staying with us forever! Her foster momma is so in love with her so she has decided to hospice foster her. She deserves to live the rest of her life as comfortably and happily as it can be! She gets home cooked food and treats, endless snuggles, and playtime with her foster fur siblings. She loves both the kitties and doggies in her foster home!

Today we said goodbye to our sweet old man Graham. He came in as a hospice foster two years ago and lived longer than we could have ever hoped! Graham was surrendered for euthanasia when he was 12 years old down in Texas. He was in rough shape but a rescue saved him. We fell in love instantly and had him sent up to us. He spent two years going on adventures and having all the love he could imagine up here in Michigan. Please keep his foster family in your thoughts and prayers as they adjust to life without their sweet, grumpy old man!
