Hey everyone I just wanted to send out a reminder to PLEASE make sure you are brushing and combing your dog. This sweet girl is a working farm dog. Her owners didn’t realize she need to be brush on a regular basic and this was the condition she was brought in to me. She had a lot of mats on her hind legs and a, tight to the skin, mat behind each of her ears. The only way to remove them was to shave them out. Because these mats were so bad, so tight, air couldn’t get to her skin. When I cut them out it caused a hematoma almost the size of a golf ball to form behind her ears. She had to be rushed to the vet so it could be removed/fixed before it got worse. Please don’t let this happen to your baby and brush and comb all the way to the skin especially in high friction zones, under collars, behind ears, and under harnesses etc. Help us groomers reduce the chances of matting on your puppy. We want to see them healthy and happy just as much as you do❤️
