Remember Marley, the 11yr old rescue Staffie who came to visit us with his besties from K9 Crusaders Dog Welfare last year, while he was waiting patiently for many months for a new home after his owner passed away.

Well… just look at him now with his lovely new parents Rosie & Joe who adopted him 3 months ago and who absolutely adore him!

They came in to say hello and Marley was like a different dog; chilled, calm and SO happy!

We’re over the moon that they found each other and can’t wait to follow Marley’s progress. He is awesome 🧡🐾💙

It’s NYE and before our Chief Executive Otis thanks all of our fabulous customers both furry and smooth, for being so unbelievably brilliant this year, he needed to repurpose one of his tuggy toys as a set of earmuffs to soften the blow of the impending fireworks. He’s quite clever like that; he’s not just a pretty face.

So now that’s done, Otis and all of us here at Southpaw HQ want to thank you all for supporting our little store!

Whether you have popped in for treats or harness fittings, followed us, tagged us or just brought joy through our doors… thank you.

He came, he saw, he conquered… the treat counter! Marley, the staffie who came to visit us straight from his kennel at the rescue centre K9 Crusaders Dog Welfare, had the best time in town, saying hello to any human that crossed his path.

This social old boy jumps, runs and hugs like a young’un. We just couldn’t believe that he’s 11!

He loved hanging out in the shop, didn’t pay attention to passing dogs because he just wants to spread the love among the people.

We really enjoyed hanging out with him and we made sure he left with a stash of goodies for the K9 Crusaders upcoming auction and raffle.

Introducing Marley, an 11yr old Staffie currently living with the team . Marley is coming for a meet & greet with us in the store tomorrow, Tues 21st Nov.

Marley is finding kennel life quite tough after both of his previous owners passed away.

We’re told he’s such a happy chappy and he can’t wait to get out in town and have some fun!

He’s a spritely little man who loves people and is really missing quiet cuddles in a warm home.

Marley has always been the only pet in the house so wouldn’t want to share with other dogs or cats, as he’s a bit long in the tooth for such a change.

Would you like to come and meet Marley tomorrow in the store or know someone who would? He’ll be popping in and out between Xmas shopping from around 11.30 for a couple of hours.

We’d so love to play matchmakers and to be able to find this lovely boy a snuggly bed to lay his head this Christmas.

One of our gorgeous regulars Peggy, who’s already a big fan of , hopped in to see us after catching her claw for the 4th time while dashing about the beach. We had the perfect solution in these super cool Ruffwear Grip Trex boots which she took to instantly and left with a spring in her step and a treat in her mouth 🐾

It might be a bit miserable outside but what better way to cheer yourself up than a Doggie Halloween Costume Parade at Castle Beach Castle Beach Cafe - Falmouth. Join in or just come for the fun. The parade starts at 1pm but there’s so much else for you and your pooch all day. It’s all for a great cause to raise money for Pawprints To Freedom Rescue - Registered Charity No 1194754 🐾

This is Cassie. She used to love travelling around in the van exploring with her humans. But she’s suddenly become very anxious and her people are not sure why.

So to help her feel cosy, confident and content, she was treated to a plethora of fun goodies to take her mind off any scary stuff. She got some natural, holistic anti-anxiety remedies, toys galore and a doggie drying robe, which doubles as a soft, cosseting security blanket.

We hope she gets her confidence back soon… we can’t wait to see her again 🐾

“Look into to my eyes… you’re feeling very sleeeepy. You’re slipping into a deeeeep sleep and when you wake up, you won’t remember that after I had my new harness and lead fitted, I snuck off and helped myself to a beef and turmeric sausage, a pigs ear and a yummy vegetable lobster.” 🐾

One of our favourite customers Ginger, first came in as a rescue aged around 7 months.
She was quite scared during her first visit into town and when she came in, she tucked herself into a corner of the shop. So we let her stay there for a while so she could chill out a little bit before she set off home.

The next time we saw her, her tail was up but she was still rather shy and popped back into her corner.

Now, she swaggers in with her tail wagging, saying hello to all the other dogs and looking all foxy. She’s come leaps and bounds and we think she’s ace. 🐾

We met Indy last year on his hols when he bought a beautiful baby blue leather collar, which he colour-coordinated with his harness for maximum impact. This time round, he chose autumnal tones for his new collar, also by . He was very pleased to show it off to all of our customers and he can’t wait to build a stylish outfit around his new purchase. 🐾

No… Lola, Zoe and Zara didn’t just escape from jail, they popped in for some all-over cover to protect their curly coats. They love to match, so they stepped out looking like the perfect 90’s girl band. 🐾

Edna was not happy that Raymond left the store with a fabulous new harness. She couldn’t hide the look of utter disgust when she left. Raymond didn’t care. He had a new harness. 🐾

Foxy was just as sad as us to see the back of summer. She’d been in last week for a fitting of her fab new harness, collar and handmade lead. She cheered up considerably after the realisation that all her favourite treats weren’t going anywhere! 🐾

We had so much fun when this lively bunch from Assist Dogs Cornwall dropped by to say hello and to choose some new exciting doggie toys for a playtime afternoon.

Assist Dogs Cornwall are based in Lostwithiel and sponsor assistance dogs, supporting children and young people with a variety of disabilities and ASD.

They have 41 working dogs and these 3 ‘furry teenagers’ were out on a training day in town with their young owners and members from the charity.

Toys were chosen based on their names… Stanley the Starfish, Delilah the Duck and Roger the Ropefish all left in the mouths of their new four-legged owners.

They’re doing so well with their training; they were very well behaved. But there was still a little bit of mischief in the air of course 😉

We look forward to seeing you all again soon! 🐾
