With temperatures soaring in parts of the UK this week, please remember that a 'smiling' dog is not always a happy one.

In fact, what looks like a grin (excessive panting and open-mouthed expressions) could be a sign that your dog is experiencing heatstroke and struggling to cool down 🥵

How can you entertain your dog when its too hot to go out for a walk?
focus on indoor games like indoor fetch, teach your dog new tricks with treats of course, play hide the treat , play tug of war with a favourite toy, make an obstacle course using boxes, pillows and blankets, play water games outside but try to keep in the shade. some dogs like water sprinklers or a paddling pool and above all remember to offer them lots of fresh water and a cool place for them to rest.

Weather is forecasting another hot spell, please remember to keep your pets safe, ensure they have access to fresh water and shade, walk dogs at the coolest part of the day, early morning or evening. Never leave pets in cars, even for a few minutes, cars can heat up really quickly to dangerous levels. Keep your pets safe.
