What a weekend! After getting home and having some time for all of us to rest and recuperate we wanted to highlight some things from our club's first trial in collaboration with Land Shark Working Dog Club!
First off... we want to congratulate EVERYONE who stepped onto the field! There were so many well deserved passes, and handlers whome put their hearts into everything with their dogs. The faces of joy and relief as they recieved the news they had passed!
(61FUR) Missiles stepped onto the field with three of our very own teams!
Elise and Zephyr BH and now... PSA PDC-SD! Elise and Zephyr stepped onto the PSA field for the FIRST time and took home their PDC-SD! With a well deserved score in obedience of 58/65, moving them onto Protection where they passed with a 75.5/80 earning them their new title. Achieving an overall combined score of 133.5/145! To achieve this title on a team's very first time on the PSA field is quite the achievement!
Angyl and Krios, after failing their first attempt at the PSA1 almost a year ago, came back to the field with a fire in them. Over two days these two not only passed both days, but also closed out Krios AKA Hood Rat's PSA1 title! This was Krios' last trial in PSA, for this being his last, he certainly went out with a bang! Taking home...
LV.1 2nd Place Saturday
LV1. 1st Place Sunday
LV 1. High Protection
Decoys' Favorite Dog
Paige and Django stepped onto the field to attempt their PSA1 again. This team almost passed both days BUT dogs will be dogs, and the older ones are definitely stuck in their ways 😂 First day in Obedience the old man couldn't take it and took the opportunity to bite, resulting in an automatic DQ. The second day they passed Obedience with an 81! Moving into Protection, but this old man wasn't going to have any of that outing business. He was in it for the long fight! Pass or fail this dog is one to admire, his heart for the game is far from gone, even at 10 years old!
We want to thank EVERYONE from Land Shark Working Dog Club and (61FUR) Missiles for coming together and making this event possible. Both clubs came together and worked diligently over 9 months to make this happen. This sport is not easy, but with great support anything is possible. The overall sportsmanship and support we have witnessed in this sport makes stepping onto the field even more enjoyable!
Thank you to Kevin Goede for your fair judging and criticism. Pass or fail we always walk away more knowledgeable than we were before.
Thank you to ALL of our trial decoys for the safe catches! Testing our dogs and our training as a team!
Last but not least we want to thank our club (61FUR) Missiles, whether you could be in attendance or not, your support was felt. This little club has grown and continues to make us proud with each mile stone we achieve. We laugh together, train together, cry together, though most importantly we are sharing this journey together. Remember love the dog first, then the sport! Enjoy the journey, whatever it may bring you ❤️
