November 8th, 2019 - Found my Forever!
Hi!! Just wanted to let everyone know I went to my new home today! They came to meet me yesterday and fell in love (I mean, who couldn’t fall in love with me?!). I hammed it up and gave lots of kisses, did some big dog leaning and gave them my pouty eyes.
So with that amazing news I am going to spend time with my new family! Bye guys!
November 6th, 2019 - Exploring!
Today I took a trip to Lowe’s and Petsmart! I got all sorts of attention, I loved every bit of it! I was a very sweet girl to everyone I met, even the strange dogs running up to me.
November 5th, 2019 - Available for Adoption!
Hey guys! So things didn’t work out with the lady that was going to adopt me. So I am available for adoption again!
I am current on all my vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, just finished heartworm treatment and will just need to be retested in 6 months. I do have allergies and am on medication and medicated baths for them. I do have hip dysplasia and arthritis (I do not currently need any pain medications, I get along great!). I have been spayed and had my teeth cleaned up. I am all ready to love my forever family!
I love adults, kids, other dogs, cats and little timid of horses. I do not do well with chickens, as they are very tasty! I walk well on a leash, ride well in a car, house trained, kennel trained, sleep on my doggie bed throughout the night, I love to snuggle whenever I get the chance and I’m just a laid back girl!

October 31st, 2019 - Happy Halloween!! 🎃
Hi guys! Just wanted to update everyone! Today is my last day of heartworm treatment! 🎉 My foster momma took me out yesterday for some compare photos, let me tell you I was freezing. But you can see just how much better I’m doing in this collage of pictures! The top two are from day one on August 19th. My skin is so much better, although I am still struggling with my Texas allergies. My hair is coming in and I’ve gained weight! I started off at 70.7lbs and today I weigh 81.8lbs. I’m like a totally new dog and it feels amazing.
My new momma had her home check done on Monday and everything went well. The transport group that will be helping me get to her are setting up a date now! I’m so excited to meet her!

Look! Left is day one and right is tonight! My skin is getting so much better! My foster momma says I don’t have my elephant skin on my b***y anymore 😁 I’m growing hair back and it’s looking so much healthier. I do love my Derm Defense food by Hill’s Science Diet! It sure is doing wonders for me!

Me again! We went out today and took one of the horses for a ride. I wasn’t too sure about that big guy, but I did good! Lots of new things to experience and figure out!

Hey guys! I am doing wonderful, at least that’s what my foster momma says! My muscles are starting to develop and I’m filling in everywhere.
I’ve got great news! Turns out I have been adopted! Just have to wait for my heartworm treatment to be finished and to get transport set up. I can’t wait 🙂! My foster momma says this transport group is all volunteer based, with many drivers driving certain legs of the trip. I can’t thank this group enough and I can’t wait to meet them all! I especially can’t wait to meet my new forever momma!
September 30th, 2019 - First Injection
Hey guys! Kiah here! I had my very first heartworm treatment injection this morning. I’m doing very well, no fever, eating my food like a champ and I’m not sore! In a month I will get my last 2 injections and be ready for adoption! How exciting is that?
The bills keep adding up and heartworm treatment isn’t cheap! If you ever wondered how you could help my cause, you can call my foster momma’s veterinary clinic and let them know you want to donate to my treatment!

September 24th, 2019 - Just Checking In
Hey guys! Just dropping in to say hi and let you know I am healing up great from my surgery. Little bit of swelling, but my foster momma says the incision is looking perfect! I love wearing my inflatable “donut” to keep me from licking it! I tend to use it as a pillow to sleep 😴. I am almost done with my antibiotics for my heartworms and will get my first injection next Monday to start killing off these nasty things! I will update everyone then!

September 20th, 2019 - Surgery Day
Hey guys! I had my surgery this morning! No more puppies for me. I’m still pretty groggy and sore. That’s to be expected though I guess. Doctor prescribed me some good pain meds to help me! Hope everyone is doing well! Please spread the word that I am so much closer to being up for adoption!
September 17th, 2019 - Lazy Tuesday.
Hi guys! Just a more recent update to follow along on my progress. I really do enjoy sleeping on the couch or laying out in the sun! Can you tell I’ve put on some weight?! I am feeling so much better than I did a month ago! I am almost done with my antibiotics for my heartworms and will start my injections at the end of the month. I may be getting spayed this Friday, super nervous about it! But it’ll be so worth it in the end. My foster momma says once I get spayed and all treated for my heartworms I can find a forever home!! I do love it here with my doggie friends and my little kitty friend, but she says once my spot opens up it allows another doggie to come in and get the help they need to find their forever homes! Isn’t that great??
August 31st, 2019 - Time for cuddles.
Today was a perfect day to sneak in some cuddles! My foster momma had no idea I was snuggling up close, I’m so sneaky! 😁
August 28th, 2019 - Dental Day!
I was able to have my tooth pulled today! You can see just had bad it was! Of course my foster momma had to get a drunk picture of me while I was waking up, how embarrassing!
When we got home there was a package waiting for me from Chewy! If you haven’t heard of them, they have some amazing pet products and super duper fast shipping! I got my very own matching collar and leash set, doesn’t it look so pretty on me?
August 19th, 2019 - The day my life changed forever.
I was found by my foster momma early in the morning in her driveway. I found a few chickens that looked mighty tasty and had to have me some! Can you blame me? I was starving! I was covered in fleas and had a horrible skin infection. We went to her work (she’s a vet tech at an animal hospital, lucky me!) and I got treated for my fleas, a bath (which I hated by the way!), an exam by one of the doctors and my blood drawn to make sure I was healthy on the inside! The doctors think I’m around 6 years old, but could be older than that. I’ve got arthritis in my back and hip dysplasia, but I don’t let that slow me down! I had a horribly infected tooth that made my breath smell terrible. My bloodwork came back and I was pretty healthy, except I’ve got heartworms 😞. So it was time to get me on the road to recovery with good food, antibiotics, steroids, etc., and once I’m healthy enough I will get treated for my heartworms and get spayed!
