(Boiga dendrophila - latifasciata)
Mangrove snake

A beautiful arboreal snake endemic to the Philippines. Mostly feed on birds and other arboreal creatures that lives high above the trees. Mildly venomous but could be lethal if it triggers allergic reaction 🐍😨😍

SLEEPING WHALES
Photographed by Stephane Granzotto

When s***m whales need a nap, they take a deep breath, dive down about 45 feet and arrange themselves into perfectly-level, vertical patterns. They sleep sound and still for up to two hours at a time between breaths, in pods of 5 or 6 whales, presumably for protection.

No one knew whales slept vertically until a 2008 study documented the behavior. And no one captured really good photography of it in the wild until 2017. French photographer Stephane Granzotto was documenting s***m whales in the Mediterranean for his book on the creatures when he came across these sleeping whales.

Whip Spider

Amblypygi is an ancient order of arachnid chelicerate arthropods also known as whip spiders and tailless whip scorpions. The name "amblypygid" means "blunt tail", a reference to a lack of the flagellum that is otherwise seen in whip scorpions. They are harmless to humans.

So cute💕

Don't mind him, he's just enjoying his lunch; munching on a grasshopper 😄.

Meet the Philippine Tarsier, one of the smallest primates in the world! It stands at about 8.5 to 16 cms in size, with a hairless tail that is double the length of the rest of its body.

It’s ! Did you know that Mt. Sinaka- a Key Biodiversity Area in North Cotabato, is considered the smallest home of Philippine eagles in the wild? At just 1,500 hectares, Mt. Sinaka provides enough food, shelter, and safety to its resident eagles. This is made possible by the efforts of our partner forest guards and the Arakan LGU.

We salute our as they continue to restore and protect Mt. Sinaka as a “Critical Habitat” not only for the Philippine eagle but other wildlife too. 💚

These species have made a comeback from the Endangered Species list 🥳
1️⃣ Southern White Rhino: around 20k southern white rhino now live in protected areas in South Africa, Namibia, Kenya and Zimbabwe. It is the only rhino specie (out of 5) that is not endangered anymore.
2️⃣ Giant Panda: in 2016 the Giant Panda was officially downgraded from ‘endangered’ to ‘vulnerable’. Around 2,000 Giant Pandas now live wild in protected reserves across China.
3️⃣ Arabian Oryx: in the early 1970’s, the ‘Arabian Unicorn’ was thought extinct, due to poachers. After breeding the few remaining animals in captivity, the oryx was released in the wild in 1982. It is now considered vulnerable.
4️⃣ Grey Wolves: they were added to the endangered list in the 1970’s. Today it’s estimated that more than 5,600 Gray Wolves live wild in the US.
5️⃣ Northern Brown Kiwi: the New Zealand bird was critically endangered until 2017. It is now steadily growing at a rate of 2% per year thanks to conservation efforts.
6️⃣ Louisiana Black Bear: it was declared endangered in 1992 through loss of habitat to agricultural development. In the past 17 years, 700,000 acres of habitats were restored in an effort to save them. The bears were delisted in 2016, and today between 500 – 750 exist in the wild.
Endangered species are at very high risk of extinction in the wild. They may be at risk due to habitat loss, poaching or invasive species.
Famous endangered animals include the Asian Elephant, the Blue Whale, the Chimpanzee, or the Tiger.
On 29 January 2010, the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species identified 5,220 endangered species, including 2,754 animals, and 2,464 plants.

Snakes lives matter

SEA PERRO, GATO, AVE, TORTUGA, SERPIENTE O ALGUNA OTRA ESPECIE... INVESTIGA, ASESÓRATE Y RECUERDA QUE ES UNA RESPONSABILIDAD EL DARLE UNA VIDA DIGNA Y LOS CUIDADOS ADECUADOS.

Human is the real evil.

Here's that mother retic that was burned alive trying to protect her eggs that Reachout Reptiles was talking about. Everyone hates and fears snakes, calls them the devil, all this, that, and the other, but you have to admit, that they make better parents than some people I know...
