Dog park will remain locked for the foreseeable due to a number of reasons - abuse of staff, fencing has been damaged and continuous littering. This is a free service which is now being ruined by the minority.

The park is busy this morning. As it is mostly shaded.

So please:

Be mindful or other owners - all dogs must be on leash until you are inside the dog pen.

Get plenty water - there are two dog bowls just inside the gate and there’s a hose tap next to the wall. Gill up and then empty when you are leaving. Leave empty.

Use the river walk. It’s lovely. There’s a little beach and shallow padding water for the dogs or even yourself. Be aware. It’s a fast moving river at times. I’ve not been down today but be wary of currents.

NEW EQUIPMENT.

You can feel that summer is just around the corner with the few nice days we’ve been having lately. With that in mind we have added some new equipment to the park.

It all has the Spencer deal of approval although he absolutely pooped himself when the seesaw moved 😂

Remember we are Edinburgh and the Lothians FREE TO USE dog park.

Our collie Spencer isn’t too fussed for his wet food. He much prefers bath water, socks and sticks 😅

So this is going free to anyone that needs it.

X4 boxes of x8 packs. Money off voucher if you like it.

I subscribe to tails.com for both our collie and beagle and find it brilliant for both. Spencer has a lovely shiny long coat and our beagle Walter has limited ear issues and no stomach issues.

Would recommend.

Anyway. The box is at the hut next to the dog park. Free to collect.

Lothian Leashes are looking for a confident , flexible candidate to join the team

You will be walking groups of up to 8 dogs in private land owned by us, so you must have the ability to handle multiple dogs

You must be willing to walk in all weathers

Able to walk dogs of all sizes and breeds

A passion for dogs is essential along with patience when handling them

Previous experience of working with dogs is preferred

You must be able to remain calm in an emergency and understand basic pet care requirements

Hours will be between 8.15am and 3.30pm approx and will be a minimum of 25 hours and up to 35 per week
A full driving licence is essential

Salary will be dependant on experience but will be £8.92 per hour as a minimum

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £8.92 -£11.00 per hour

⚠️ DOG THEFT ⚠️

One of the reasons we are creating our Dog Park is to provide a safe and secure environment where your dog can exercise freely while you are safe in the knowledge that there is no chance of being disturbed by a stranger.

Lady Gaga had her dogs stolen at gunpoint last week - dramatic, but it is prevalent in the Uk now also. Thefts are up 250% since lockdown and with prices soaring up to 170% in some breeds it’s even more important that we get open as soon as possible.
